so true. I think the stats say 1 out of every 3 people are overweight or something ridiculous like that.

When i eat McDonalds i get sick. I only eat it when i'm out after a night of drinking, and it's the only place open at 4am.

Thu Nov 02, 2006 9:18 pm

i eat alot of red rooster, while im working

I'm a fan of solid stomach filling food and shit like mcdonalds doesn't do that for me. Only fast food i ate occasionally are those chinese buffets or subway...cause i like to eat fresh.

yes

Hell no! Pizza isn't fast food (well, it is if you buy one of those freezed pizzas at the supermarket...but I don't know if they're available in the USA/Canada/Australia)... It takes about 30-45 minutes to make pizza here in Italy (depends on the region and on the ingredients: 35 minutes is usually what it takes to make a pizza margherita). I think that info will help you change decision about pizza, and by pizza I don't mean Pizza Hut or anything similar.

Pizza in the U.S. IS fast food.

and Fitzy, is Red Rooster anything like Red Robin in the U.S.?

I think I asked Jae that question before, and I don't think they're similar. There's also Red Robin in Canada, and that's a nice and cheap place to eat.

Fri Nov 03, 2006 6:28 am

Pizza is fast food if you get like dominos or that kinda shit...or go to an "all you can eat buffet" but real pizza does still exist if you know where to look...

I used to love the "Big King" hamburger at Burger King. That was at least 8 or 9 years ago though, they eventually discontinued it. They sold it off and on, and I always got one when they had it. Big King, I miss you :(

I also miss Burger King's 99 cent sale on the whopper sandwich. Am I the only one who remembers it? Every few months they would lower the price to 99 cents, but I havent seen it in a long time.

Fri Nov 03, 2006 10:43 am

I don't eat at McD's because of Supersize Me.

I do eat fast food sometimes, but I'm starting to find that if I eat too much junk at once (ie. have pizza, chips, pop, fries, etc. for dinner) I don't feel well. I guess I've been eating too much healthy food. :P

Jokes aside, I think that my body has gotten used to healthy stuff and that's why I don't feel well when I eat junk. I don't really care, though, I like healthy food better. (Y)

Fri Nov 03, 2006 10:44 am

I get Papa Murphy's pizza...that isn't fast food.

Right now I'm eating Charley's grilled subs...it's probably really bad for me but very good. I also eat some Arby's, Subway, Noodles and Company and some Pancheros (Mexican grill). Other than that though I don't eat at any fast food places. I'm not a fan of McDonald's, Burger King or Wendy's.

"Pizza" in the US isn't pizza. Real pizza is made the same way it was made when it was invented in the 18th century (well at least here): Same flour, same tomatoes, same buffalo mozzarella, same oil (all these ingredients strictly come from Campania), and most important, it strictly has to be cooked in a firewood furnace.
I know lots of people that are currently dieting that eat pizza. So no, pizza isn't fast food. Maybe that thing made by Pizza Hut, Domino, Papa John's, etc. is, but pizza sure isn't.

Fri Nov 03, 2006 11:06 am

Best: I got an italian chicken sandwich at burger king (mozarella, marinara, and fried chicken on their "bread") which was actually not that bad tasting

I got a stomachache after that sandwich and I don't think I'll go to BK again , lol. (N) I used to go every now and then when I was starving after classes and BK was the only dining establishment nearby (the rest are across a drillfield away from where I park the car , so it's inconvenient to go there , get fresh food , eat , and go home)

I would still rather eat fast food than salads , V8 , and healthy crap

Fri Nov 03, 2006 11:08 am

but the thing is that here, the thing made by Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's, and all them are all we got.

Yeah man, when I went to Italy, I realized that the Italians don't use any kind of preservatives or garbage in their sauce. Italian sauce looks almost orange, and American sauce looks very red. Italians have the best food in the world, it was the best part about my trip there.

Also, I only eat fast food about once a month, if even that. I need to stay in shape for basketball and track if I go out for it this year.

Oh yeah, and on the subject of only being able to get a pizza from dominos or pizza hut, either go to a pizza restaurant (well easy for me to say, the chicagoland area has millions), or you can buy the ingrediants at the grocery store like the crust (or you can make your own), the cheese, and the sauce (or you can make your own sauce). For personal satisfaction if you're one of those guys. (Y)

if Pizza isn't a fast food then why do all the Italian women have fat asses.....and not in a good way.

i'd take a Domino's pizza over any restaurant pizza. i had "authentic" Italian pizza and it tasted like ass

Sat Nov 04, 2006 9:55 am

Authentic pizza's preparation, show-man ship and care in making it is more of an appeal to people than it's taste. I personally like my crust nice and soft with cheese in it or something not biscuit hard, burnt black crusts.

You're obviously ignorant on the arguments you treated in your post since you sure haven't ever come to Italy.
First of all, the percentage of Italian women under 40 years old "with fat asses" is lower than 15% (in anglosaxon countries 1 out of 5-6 people is obese) and those who are obese, sure aren't obese because they eat pizza. Obesity in Italy is mainly caused by health diseases. People who are fat just because they eat, mainly have lots of fast-food meals at McDonalds or Burger King and don't do any physical activites.
Second, we don't just eat pizza so stop saying Italian women have fat asses in a bad way (which isn't even true) just because they eat pizza. We probably eat a lot healthier than you.
Third, If you had pizza in a restaurant, well it still wasn't real pizza: pizzas are made in pizzerie, restaurants have been serving pizzas for less than fifty years only.
Fourth, pizza was invented in Italy more than two centuries ago, so pay respect.
Fifth and final, ITALIAN pizza is made only by Italians (those don't include American/Canadian/Australian people thathave Italia heritage) so I guess you didn't have Italian pizza.

I personally like my crust nice and soft with cheese in it or something not biscuit hard, burnt black crusts.

Biscuit hard pizzas are neapolitan/sicilian pizzas, they're a type of "pizza al piatto" ("thinner" pizza), they're the thinnest type of pizza available. I don't like them either. Most common pizzas in Italian pizzerie are "pizza al trancio" type of pizzas ("thicker" pizzas) and trust me they're way softer than all that full-of-fat crap served at Domino's, etc.

yea...well im not american and i dont eat ff 2-3 times a week anyways, maybe once a week. But for americans ff 2-3 a week is nothing.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 3:27 pm

didn't read your rant but your arguments are weak. Quit trying to act all "cultured" and above everyone else. Pizza is the same shit different bucket here and everywhere.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 3:41 pm

Actually, I've been to Italy when I was 6, and tried the pizza there. Much, much different than North American pizza. In fact, in all of Europe (I've been to France, Hungary, Buglaria, Poland, Germany, Spain, etc.) the food is completely different. It's amazing how food isn't the same because of environmental, chemical, and production factors. One of the things I remember the most is how delicious the Italian ice cream is. Way better than the Hagen Daz that you can get here sadly.

The best fast food if you classify it as fast food is a good Australian meat pie, that beats all fast food in my opinion.

Meat Pies are good man but they are so expensive at Uni. (N) I go with $2 sausage rolls now :D
