a weekly line-up setting is more suitable for roto. in head2head, it really doesn't make sense. i guess cy and i assumed it to be daily line up because that's the default one. sure we should have checked, but the settings should at least be mentioned here somewhere. if i knew i would have drafted differently, but whatever. it's something new and i'll take that as a challenge.

imo weekly lineup formats are the best, especially in leagues where you only start 6 players. you can actually use strategy to win your matchup- i.e- the team you play is strong in 3's/assists so you plan to start a pg/sg instead of a big man for your utility spot...

in daily lineup leagues, you're just loading up on games/starting whoever is playing in a given night. what fun is that? plus as someone said in the other thread, theres no way of stoppping anyone from abusing the add/drop

exactly man, thats why its perfect in a roto league, use strategy to get stats. but in head2head, you are just trying to beat your opponent for that week, no player stats are stacked up for the season. maximizing the profits for that one week, weekly lineup cant do that. nobody knows how a player will perform in a perticular week. just because a player is good at something doesnt mean he'll bring you that for that week you put him in. a player catches fire in one week and you put him in next week because you lack whatever he provides, but one week is such a long time that the player might not repeat it again and you just waste that spot for an entire week. thats my opinion.

profits are still being "maximized" but in addition the strategy lineup is there. you have the opportunity to put the lineup you think will win the most categories for that given week.

it's not fun/doesn't take much skill to start as many guys as possible, cross your fingers you come out on top. it's pretty on silly in daily leagues you can add/drop players so you have a full lineup for the last 2 days

btw- you pointed out why you think weekly lineups are no good. what in your opinion are the advantages of using a daily lineup league (other then option to start your hometown hero as your 2nd utility spot on thursday lol)?

there's always the element of chance & risk/reward but that just makes it more interesting.

it's frickin awesome in this weekly lineup money league i'm with some friends, 4yrs running. we all have spreadsheets setup with the statistical projections. on sunday nite, we all try to figure who we think our opponent is starting for the week then decide who to start/what categories to go for

the lineup deadline is 2AM. even some of us sneaky bastards put in our real lineup at 1:59 am just to throw off each other.

anyway, daily lineups are ok but it's cake when you have the opportunity to actually determine which statistical categories you want to win/punt in a given week

i look for fun in head2head, if i want to work my brains out, i'd do roto. weekly lineup taken out the fun for me imo, now i have to do the same shit i do for roto. with the amount of free time i have, i cant do that much thinking for the line-ups. i spend 4 or 5 minutes on it max, thats more than enough to do daily lineups but cant do that if i have to involve strategy. oh well, looks like my $5 is gone. next time when im prepared i'll kick ass for sure.

the main part of the playoffs takes only the top 6, and places them in a regular single elimination 8 person bracket. #1 and #2 seeds get a bye the first week while 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5. winner of 3/6 plays the 2 seed and the winner of 4/5 plays the 1 and then it goes on until there's one winner.
