So, how do they fill the seat? Time for a bit of fun with a Oouji Board

Wow. A coin toss? Why not give the woman who's alive the bloody job since obviously she can handle it a bit better?

The school district ... has not yet decided how to fill Ms Dunton's seat.

Are they fucking retarded?

I have to admit, at first I thought how odd it was to leave such a decision up to a coin flip before I remembered that was how the NBA decided the number one pick in the event of a tie before adopting the Draft Lottery in 1985, a fact we generally accept as what was done back then. Still, you'd think a second vote would be held between the two tied candidates rather than leaving it up to chance.

From what I read it sounded like there were two candidates, and one died...

Well obviously in this case there's no point in holding another vote between those two candidates since one has passed away. I was simply making an observation about the tiebreaker method they'd chosen to employ in the first place.

Actually, hate to correct you on this but the teams didn't have to tie for a coin flip to happen. From 1966-84, the NBA used the coin flip to determine who would pick first out of the two teams with the worst records in the league.

Ah, that's right. Thanks for the correction. :)

It's ok. It's easy to get it confused because most coin flips in normal circumstances happen because of a tie. (Y)
