I don't think it's actually illegal over in Australia, although they're probably trying to do that....it would be a lot easier if they just made all games region free, then a lot of people wouldn't have to go to those measures....

I wouldn't get it modded at the moment as I don't currently know of any mods to go region free....I'm just going to wait & see....I wouldn't get it done right now as it is under warranty, & is under warranty until May 2008....although I'm willing to forego the last 6 months of warranty to take a stab at it....although if it is risky then I probably wouldn't want to do it....ask me again in a year's time

I bought mine region free already Apparently its pretty simple, its just some text editing on the firmware....

Sun Oct 29, 2006 11:41 pm

yeah, I might look into it after I move houses....

Nope, not with players already in the game.

I don't know if they've changed it since you bought your 360 or if it's different down under, but as of right now, Microsoft only has a 3 month warranty on new 360s.

yep that's true, but I got a store 2 year warranty on it for like $60 or something....

ah the power of extended warranties... I don't look at them the same way now because I sell them at my work. We make most of our money on those things.

you probably would....although considering I had to take my console back & get it swapped for a new one in the first month or so due to dodgey scratching DVD player, I don't mind that I got it....I got it off my mate from EB, & he saved me a bit of money by discounting games, increasing the amount of trade-in on my PS2 etc, so I used some of savings on warranty....

but yeah, I can understand what you mean....the warranty is worth about 1/8th to 1/10th of the price of the console....the warranty would only really kick in after the Microsoft warranty cuts out & there is less likelihood of major problems outside the first 3 months....

ahh well, a lot can be said about peace of mind

has anybody orderd the game off amazon? i did and was wondering if you guys received an email saying it has been delayed?

Wed Nov 01, 2006 2:56 pm

So i played a demo of 2k7 on my mates 360, and now i really cant wait to get mine at Christmas. Its like the best basketball game ever. I love the signature shots lol, especially Dirk. I just cant wait to be launching shots with Ray Allen

Also, i was wondering if anyone knows whether EB Games would let me trade in my XBox towards a 360 if it is mod-chipped?

Wed Nov 01, 2006 7:13 pm

Dean, when I traded in my PS2 they never even asked....I don't think they ask too many questions to tell you the truth, but maybe that was just for me....

Wed Nov 01, 2006 8:39 pm

300th post this topic. Anyways back to the topic. X how much would they make you pay for the 360 after you trade in your PS2?

Wed Nov 01, 2006 9:28 pm

The X, how much did you get for your PS2?

I think I just want to get rid of mine... where do you think I could go to get the most money? EB, Cash Converters, EBay?

Wed Nov 01, 2006 9:53 pm

just trying to set up opening-day rosters for my PS2 version, and I was quite disappointed with the lack of young players that should be included in the game. THis is one place where Live is still king. They always include most of the first rounders as well as many second rounders, while 2k7 has more people out of the league 2+ years than missing players

Wed Nov 01, 2006 11:26 pm

I traded in PS2 at EB back in June, so PS2 trade-in values might have dropped by then, not sure....but then again, Xbox 360 console prices are also slightly cheaper....

for my PS2, memory card, one controller, 13 games, I think I got like $270 or something....$70 for console & controller, $5 for memory card, $15 for each game ($195 all up)....

I paid $615 for Xbox 360 premium pack console....about $60 or so for wireless controller, $50 for two rechargeable battery packs....got 3 games (COD2 - $80, NBA2k6 - $80, Oblivion Collector's Edition - $75)....I also paid like about $80 for 2 year EB warranty....

I also purchased 5 copies of Halo (Xbox) for $12.50 and 10 copies of GT3 (PS2) for $12.50 and immediately traded them in for $15.50, which saved me $45....

all in all, I spent like $710 or so, although without extended warranty, it's essentially $630....

so depending on the number of games you got on PS2, you might be able to get $200+ trade-in on PS2 & games....find an EB that has console at or close to $600 retail....just work the sales person....say that you saw it somewhere else for $599 (which I have seen it for around) & they'll probably do it, because they want to sell the consoles so they sell more games....

good luck....

NB: These are Aussie dollars

Thanks X, ill just go in and not mention anything
Just wondering, do you have XBox Live?

If you do, we will have to set up a game sometime around Xmas (Haha, Xmas) so i can get schooled by someone that can actually run an offense on a basketball game!

Thu Nov 02, 2006 9:58 am

Console as in a 360 console?

And cheers, I will go around to different stores and see what deal I can get! If not, I will try to sell it manually!

Thu Nov 02, 2006 9:10 pm

Dean, no I don't have XBL....no broadband at this time, I'm just dial-up....perhaps in future....and I don't run sets....I just pass to the open man & run some very basic plays....will probably run a few more in my Association, just gotta learn them....

also, picked up 2k7 today....it's great....graphics in stadium, jerseys seem a lot better....faces marginally....hundreds of signature shots....some are spot on, some seem a little off, but ahh well, it's sweet as nanna's nuts....I'll give a bit of review of game once I get more of a chance to play it....seems really good though

Sat Nov 04, 2006 11:09 am

I got NBA 2K7 for PS2 today, 35 Euro's only. Was a steal in my opinion.

I played my first two association games and I won both by a few points. What does annoy me right now is the fact that I've got scores above the 100. (120'ish)...any seasoned players have good sliders?

I'm a 2K noob. Although I'll tell you this, it's been ages since I had THIS much fun with a basketball game.

Edit: What sucks is that 2K7 on PS2 doesn't have a player lock function :(

Sat Nov 04, 2006 11:49 am

I might post my sliders up sometime next week, after roster update. The most points I've scored is 108 with the Bulls, they're fun to play with in this game. But damn I needa roster update, I wanna start my association.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 2:28 pm

any one got this game on 360 and is playing on xbox 360 live?

post your gamer ids :)

Sat Nov 04, 2006 2:55 pm

Sat Nov 04, 2006 9:06 pm
