Game Recaps:

Minnesota falls to Sacramento as Garnett injures arm:
Riding a five point lead into the fourth quarter, the Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a monumental setback as team captain Kevin Garnett went down with what appeared to be an elbow injury. X-Rays after the game revealed the injury to be a mild elbow sprain that would keep Garnett out for the next three days.
Without Garnett patrolling the paint the Sacramento Kings opened with the quarter on a quick 10-2 run generated by a series of fast breaking opportunities, helping to propel them to the win, despite a uncharacteristic 4-12 shooting night from behind the arc.
Rookie sensation Randy Foye scored 23 points in his NBA debut.
Troy Hudson Traded to Seattle Supersonics November 2nd –
With a lack of depth at the center position and Mark Blount offering little in terms of consistent play the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled the trigger on a two-team deal offered by the Seattle Supersonics sending chronically injured point guard Troy Hudson to the Sonics in exchange for Seattle malcontent Danny Fortson
Fortson, whose relationship took a turn for the worse with the Seattle coaching staff and players last year looks to become a solid contributor off the bench as he aims to increase his value in the free agent market when his contract expires at the end of the year.

The T’Wolves Strike Back:
With Kevin Garnett sitting the game out with a sprained elbow the Minnesota Timberwolves responded to the loss of their leader with an impressive win against their division rivals the Denver Nuggets. Despite being overmatched by Denver’s frontline at times, Minnesota exploited Denver’s lack of perimeter shooting in the third holding them to twelve points in the quarter.
As Mark Blount continued his early season struggles, newly acquired center Danny Fortson found himself playing big minutes putting in an impressive performance by grabbing 15 rebounds and scoring 8 points before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
Randy Foye continued his strong play, handing out 10 assists equaling the number of assists tallied by the rest of his Minnesota teammates.

Garnett Returns, Sparks Minnesota Wins:
Kevin Garnett’s return to the court sparked an offensive onslaught as the Minnesota Timberwolves jumped out to an eleven point lead after one, and never looked back. Ricky Davis continued his strong play dropping in 27 points as Mike James led all players with 32.
The much expected Randy Foye vs. Brandon Roy match up ended up with neither player having much of an impact on the game.

Fortson Erupts as Wolves Stun Kings on Home Court:
The Wolves found an unlikely source of offense with Kevin Garnett struggling from to find shots. Veteran big man Danny Fortson, known more for his defense and tendency to commit hard fouls poured in 21 points as the Wolves took revenge on the Kings who beat them 105-91 in their season opener.
Second year guard Bracey Wright scored five points in two minutes, giving the Wolves a nice boost off the bench with Rashad McCants unable to put the ball in the basket.

Wolves’ Backcourt Explodes For 58 Points:
Mike James poured in 30 points while rookie Randy Foye nearly matched him with 28 of his own. Trailing by two going into the fourth quarter the trio of Foye, James, and Davis scored 29 of Minnesota’s last 38 points. Kobe Bryant paced the Lakers with 27 points.
