Seattle Times - Ron Mercer worked out with the Sonics in the offseason and was supposed to report to training camp before suffering a back injury that will force him to retire, the Seattle Times is reporting.
I posted this because i know one member in this forum will be pissed off. ( :::the only mercer fan::: )

Oh man, I can't wait to see the reaction. To bad for Mercer, Although I don't think he would of made it back.

Nah, he won't be pissed, he'll just find another bandwagon to jump on

. Dejuan Wagner or something.

Poor Fitzy
Thu Oct 05, 2006 4:37 am
Just wanted to write the same thing about Fitzy
It's sad to see him retire, I liked his game especially when he was with the Spurs. Still one of my favourite players. I always hoped he can get another shot in the NBA.

I don't find how Fitzy could possibly be hurt with upcomming situation. I mean, for past 3-4 years, Mercer haven't been playing pro basketball and Fitzy was his #1 fan. I don't see why he shouldn't be still.

What a waste of talent, he actually had some productive years.

Not really sad to see him go since I wasnt that big a fan. At least this question poped up in my head...
Who would you rate higher: Ron Harper or Ron Mercer?

Ron Harper... not only does Ron Harper have more championship rings (did Mercer even get one? I forgot..maybe one with his stint with the Spurs) but someone's gotta remember Ron Harper's rookie years.. Harper had some monster stats.

Fitzy wont be happy lmao! Didnt he sign a contract with Tel Aviv tho?
Thu Oct 05, 2006 6:59 am
This will just make being a Ron Mercer fan even more hardcore.
Thu Oct 05, 2006 7:15 am
Harper > Mercer.
It's sad to see anyone go because of an injury. I still remember him and Billups being the backcourt of the future.

I actually liked Ron Mercer, although he underachieved.
Then again, I like almost every underachiever.

No Fitzy yet?? I feel bad for him, and Ron Mercer

Icluding Kwame Brown?

Absolutely. Qyntel Woods, Kedrick Brown, Ndudi Ebi, Tim Thomas, Jerome Moiso and Tyson Chandler make me scream with delight.
