also, i find it hard to believe that thq would give away their ftp password, since others could do this sort of thing, and upload and delete whatever they want to. with thq's level of security even with IGN, there is no way they'd give a bunch of nobodies their ftp password.
Well, as I said, I'm not totally sure about the truth behind the password, but since the news is pretty awesome, I hope it's true, and that's why I sorta believe it.

But I've read all the articles possible on SDvR2007 (can't wait till it comes out), and I've never saw Eddie confirmed nor the reason that Eddie will be excluded out of the roster.
The ECW roster however, is not true. The developers set their roster deadline at Wrestlemania, no excepetions. ECW One Stand on June, and the resurrection was a bit after that. Everything from the game will be confirmed after Summerslam. So if the ECW roster does make it into SDvR2007 (which is doubtful, but I hope they do) it'd be a miracle.

im not sure where i read it, but vicki guerrero doesnt want eddies polygonal ass getting beat. so she doesnt want him in the game.
as for the ecw roster, i read somewhere that thq said they were updating rosters to include ecw wrestlers. and besides, ONS was in june, the arena will be in (it was last year, with the same schedule), why not a handful of wrestlers as well, especially since thq would have been informed well ahead of time that an ecw reunion was happening.

Well, hope for the best, that'd be really awesome, but it'll take away precious CAW space... I hope SDvR2007 will still have at least 30 spaces for CAWs
Sat Aug 12, 2006 7:40 pm
the caw space is a memory card issue more than a disc space issue. there's no way they would decrease the space for CAWs anyway.

Sorry for bumping this
But the roster for Smackdown vs RAW 2007 has been confirmed
http://ps2.ign.com/articles/730/730396p1.html
Includes 51 superstars not including Legends, which will be confirmed later. Smackdown fans, judge the roster yourselves
Personally, some parts of the roster really ticked me off... I'd prefer to have Val Venis, Rob Conway, Sylvan, and Nunzio rather than like, Boogeyman, Jilian Hall, Great Khali, and Eugene. Wasted spaces imo.

No apologies necessary, news is always welcome.
Looks OK, though it'd be great if they could include a full roster one of these days.

i wonder if HHH and HBK are in their DX attires for the game..
i havent seen any screens about it yet though...
Wed Sep 06, 2006 12:14 am
I'm hoping they at least include the DX theme and taunts/entrance animations.

They have DX taunts every year, so this year is definitely in. Chances are the entrance animations will be in as well, since DX is so popular.

This hasn't been confirmed, but I've read around sites, and I've heard numerous claims that they'll have alternate attires, which are the DX attires. Like how SDvR2006 Kane had Masked and Unmasked. Let's hope they do have alternates.
Thu Sep 07, 2006 11:57 am
Thinking back, I'm pretty sure 2006 had the entrance as well so I guess there's a good chance they'll leave it in as usual. They need the DX theme in there though.
Thu Sep 07, 2006 1:10 pm
themes/trons are updated per summerslam, so it'll be in there. the entrance last year though was a 3-man one.
gamingring's hands on has said that shawn michaels has only his red pants.
Thu Sep 07, 2006 10:11 pm
Ah, that's right. The two man DX entrance must have been one of the earlier titles on the PS2...or perhaps I've confused it with the three man entrance.

Great news! I've been browsing around IGN, and have noticed that the annual individual superstar in-game videos have been posted up

Usually includes: Entrance, Match Action, and Finisher.
Here are the links:

Enjoy
On a side note... I'm kinda disappointed that in all the videos so far, there are no new moves other than Vito's Code of Silence:( (awesome finisher btw) I hope they did improve the moves database this year, since I have to admit, I'm a MAJOR wrestling moves freak, I always analyze all the moves they include in every wrestling game.. I dunno, weird habit of mine I guess

I am getting this game for the 360 when it comes out. The last wrestling game I got was Smackdown!: Know your Role so it has been awhile.

Thanks for the update.

Agreed. On a similar note, I'd love to be able to rename moves (or at least for Finisher situations) for created wrestlers instead of their finisher having to be listed as Powerbomb 04 or Chokeslam 07.

the pyro is still way off, for both systems.
big show and kane had better have different entrances without the belts.
the xbox 360 body models are off.
why the hell did they use the same ps2 chavo as last year?
since when did big show have sideburns?
enugh bitching, kane and the belts look perfect on 360.

Thanks for the update.
No problem, I'm constantly hounding for SDvR2007 updates, can't wait till the game comes out.

That'd be totally awesome, except that the game's a WWE Product... which I highly doubt the WWE would let that happen.

I remember reading somewhere that this year we MIGHT be able to choose the method Superstars wear their belts.
Oh btw, did anyone see the videos on Melina going against Torrie? Getting stomped on or dropkicked in the face by high heels has got to be hell

thq are looking lazy right now. regal and chavo are both exactly the same models as last year. boogeyman is the best proportioned 360 model to date.

Ever since HCTP they've ALWAYS been lazy. With the technology at their fingertips these days the fans would easily get an awesome wrestling game... but it's always the same rehashed crap every single year.. and the fact that THQ can get away with it and still make a hefty profit doesn't encourage them to exert extra effort to make the product better... and now it's starting to sound like how EA Sports treat NBA Live...

Knowing that the NBA places certain restrictions on EA Sports when it comes to NBA Live I imagine the WWE would do the same with THQ, but do you have any idea why they wouldn't allow it? Assigning a different nickname to a move when it's set as a finisher (if desired) seems pretty harmless to me, though I suppose they mightn't be above being that petty.

For random abstract moves called scoop slam, suplex and etc, I'm sure it'd be pretty harmless, but it's a WWE game. And when all the dust has been settled, I'm sure WWE would want the person playing the game know that it's a WWE Product they're playing... since alot of fans buy SDvR2007 just to mod it to TNA and etc, so they'd be promoting other promotions indirectly somehow. And plus, to make it happen, THQ would have to implement someway so that the moves database can sort themselves alphabetically when the user has edited them... otherwise it'd be a complete mess.
Sun Sep 17, 2006 11:22 am
That's true, but I picture the Finisher Name as being a seperate attribute after assigning a move rather than editing the original database entry. So you could select the Tombstone as a finisher but in the wrestler's profile you could name his Finisher "Laid to rest" (or something less lame than that

). Undertaker's profile and the moves database would still refer to the move as the Tombstone Piledriver through.

you'd think that they'd at least change the colour of the attire or something though.
is anyone else scared by the fact that booker will, in all likelihood, have his king music/tron but his T entrance moves?
Sun Sep 17, 2006 3:49 pm
That would look quite awkward to say the least.
Sun Sep 17, 2006 3:56 pm
I just watched the videos and I must admit, I had SYM and HCTP and it doesn't look like its changed since then...
