PSP Owners

Well, here's my situation:

I've had a PSP for almost a year now.. and I've recently got games that require the diagonal button on the d-pad to function well.. and whoever played a PSP before knows how difficult it is to get the diagonal directions on the D-Pad to respond effectively. I'm currently playing Tekken, and the D-Pad irresponsiveness really cuts down on the amount of moves I can pull off... any other PSP Owners found a solution to the problem with the D-Pad?

And you can't hear music or movies well because its volume it's so low, so you really can't use it in a bus or in the street like they say. And well, to play at home I have other consoles. It's as useful as a brick. Don't lose your time trying to fix that problem.

Well if you would charge your battery daily....Also you can buy an external battery pack and run off of 4 AAA batteries. And that's why you get headphones if you can't hear it. And you can really use it in a bus or in the street. When I'm not playing it, I put it in my pocket and listen to mp3s usually while I'm doing something.

Anyway, @ BZ, I haven't had any problems with the d-pad not working. Well...not yet. I bought mine used like a month ago.

Yea I thought the PSP was overpriced and kinda pointless, then I downgraded and now I can do sooooo much with it. I've heard other people with the same D pad problem, but I haven't played Tekken (not my style game) and the other games I do play don't need the D Pad so I really can't help you.

I hate the psp. I had it for a couple of months and i never used it. I was one of the smart ones that sold it while it was still worth something. I got a 30gb ipod to replace it. I use the ipod more than anything. In the car, at home, playing 360, and while doing homework.

I was one of the "smart" ones that exploited it and is working on getting his moneys worth. I downgraded as well and bought a 2 GB memory stick. Now I have music, movies, and games right at my disposal. Plus good graphics and tons and tons of different hardware addons.

It's not that the D-Pad doesn't work... it's just isn't responsive when it comes to pressing a combination of directions to make a diagonal movement. I've googled up extensively, and, UXFighter had a solution to dismember the PSP and stick something in the d-pad to make it stand out more when the PSP's reassembled, increasing the sensitivity, or get the Capcom and Namco D-Pad add-on... which I can't even find on eBay. If only Sony could release a D-Pad modifier sometime in the near future...

Totally agree, when I first got it, I used it maybe once or twice every two weeks, then downgraded, and have over 30 games that I can put on my PSP, but I usualy just play GTA LCS, Madden 07, and every now and then Def Jam, Burnout, or Socom.
