Andre's Farewell Tour

Fri Sep 01, 2006 3:53 pm

A bit late but I believe Agassi deserves a thread. He's been amazing during his career. I was watching some highlights of his early years. He had hair and dressed colourfully lol. That was pretty funny.

Anyways, I'm really hoping he will get far into the US Open especially after making the Finals last year and losing out in the end to Federer. What can you do though? I was rooting for him in the final last year but the better player won.

I don't how much Agassi can keep going at 36. He's been having injections and played two long matches so far. Now he's gonna go play Benjamin Becker who beat Grosjean in straight sets but is ranked 112th in the world. Anwyays, get past him and Andre may be pitted against Andy Roddick.

Still, even if he bows out in the next game or the round of 16, it doesn't take anything away from his legacy. Congratulations Andre!

And next stop: Benjamin Becker

I'm sure going to miss Andre...a great player and a great person..Respect, it was very funny when they showed sometning as a career mix on Eurosport where he has long hair, my father said that besides one of the best players of our time, in the 90s he was idol of the teenagers (Y)

Well, he went out in style sorta i guess... after all- he never really wanted to retire because of injury or not feeling like playing so he lost fair and square.

In the end, it was his back that crippled him and not his determination to play.

Andre is a great role model!! (Y)

I still cant comprehend his transofrmation from 'image is everything' rocker, loudmouth teen to the Andre who was mature, respected and respected others :D But its a great story

Had a great career and also gave a very heart-felt speech in the end. It was moving and I wish him luck in wat he does in the future.

And also... there goes the USA's 90s Era of Tennis... Chang-Courier-Sampras-Agassi... a group of players from one nation I don't think we will see for a while...

Can't wait for Agassi Jr and Sampras Jr to take it to the court if they do go and play tennis in the future...
