Sit, I discussed US team with Weaver a couple of times....probably a couple of adjustments....

C- Brad Miller
C- Dwight Howard
PF- Shawn Marion
PF- Carmelo Anthony
SF- Shane Battier
SF- Bruce Bowen
SF- Adam Morrison
SG- Michael Redd
SG- J.J. Redick
SG- Gilbert Arenas
PG- Kirk Hinrich
PG- Chauncey Billups

it's hard to know though....

and Sit, Baby Shaq for Greece got drafted by Clippers....as for other big guy, you might be thinking of Glen "Big Baby" Davis from LSU, who's apparently slimmed down & is closer to a Corliss Williamson-like body now....

- Yep, they certainly are the best team in the World. Played great in the Final... Gasol got the Gold altho he will be getting ankle surgery and likely miss the start of the NBA season.

As I said, Toronto need to get Navarro!

Yes, Glen Davis, thats the one... and he's slimmed down???

- Good work by Spain once again. Hey nzspurs, you should write some more opinions now :P

- They got a hard choice if everyone is available.

Firstly, Coach K should be spewing he didn't take Bruce Bowen. They needed him and even worse, he didn't even play Brad Miller against Greece much (Did he even play?). Bowen would have come in handily.

Secondly, Gilbert Arenas seems to have lost a lot of trust in the USA committee... he thinsk that the coaches were bias towards him. I really don't konw how his future with the national team will go.

Looking at your team, I very much doubt that D Wade and James will be left off. JJ would be great for the team though and same with Morrison. I agree with Billups, Arenas, Redd, Anthony, Dwight however a few things:

- I don't think they will select Brad Miller again.
- Shane Battier and Bruce Bowen; I think that if they are both selected it would be good but I seriously doubt they will be. It will be Shane in the end probably seeing Coach K loves him even more.
- As I said bout Arenas, not sure about his future.
- I'm not a fan of Hinrich... They should have cut him and Jamison instead of Bowen and Arenas
- And Team USA will HAVE to select Kobe Bryant... even if he screws up team chemistry :P

But yes, I see your team and I would prefer my own but it's your call :P And I think you're probably not saying this is the team they will choose but more like the team you would think would win! Fair enough.

I don't think the USA team needs Kobe Bryant, as Sit said. This year's USA team was pretty ok, just needed some extra additions.

My ideal USA team would be

C- Amare Stoudamare
C- Dwight Howard
PF- Tim Duncan
PF- Gerald Wallace
SF- Shane Battier
SF- LeBron James
SF- Carmelo Anthony
SG- Michael Redd
SG- Dwyane Wade
PG- Gilbert Arenas
PG- Chris Paul
PG- Kirk Hinrich

You have 12 players on your team. Plus players who wouldn't be selected anyways.

And as I told you about Kobe on msn... i don't think i will type it here. But if anyone wants me to, I could write an essay on why USA could have used Kobe Bryant. :) You don't want me to do that would you boys?

Thread Retired

Thank you to all the people who came to visit my thread. I'm sorry that it started off a dynasty and later turned into whatever it turned into. I hope you don't think it's SPAM. It's been a pleasure to write my thoughts on the FIBA World Championship in real life and i've had a lot of fun as I've learnt a lot about basketball in the last 3 weeks!

I never expected this to get to 7 pages and also close enough to 4500 views. Cheers boys! It means a lot!

So now, I will retire this dynasty!

And below is a list of people I'd like to thank!

- Mikki: The man who showed me it was possible to start a dynasty like this one. Thank you!

- Jing: Fellow China man who said he wouldn’t visit my thread if China lost in my dynasty… they did and I haven’t seen him pop in much. Anyways, this is to you and you better come in and say hi!

- The X: Fellow Brisbane dude and good guy to have in my thread giving insight into Team NZ and FIBA ball when needed.

- Mark: I’m glad he follows my dynasties cause he’s a top dude and great to talk to on MSN!

- Flo: My main man in Germany! I know he likes Navarro and no one else on Spain!

- Kemp: Been in and out! Hope he would post more just to reassure he’s still around!

- Srbija: Classic how he said the game was rigged when Serbia lost! (in my dynasty of course!)

- Funk99: thanks for coming in and reading my dynasty :D

- Marquis: Thanks for coming in and reading my dynasty man! I hope it didn’t bore you!

- H Rock: You convinced me (along with Flo) to watch the FIBA games… its half ur fault this thread is so long now!

- Joker: Lithuanian who came in a few times to support his team.

- Anthony15: Likes Melo I think and is Russian. It’s all good… and boy- I will be 6’4” one day!

- Pera: He didn’t post in here cause he thought it would be weird. I thank you for your kind comments!

- Nzspurs: thanks for the props man! I appreciate it!

I hope you guys didn't get bored from any of my writing if you read it. And that you can give me advice on my writing and also any other things you would like to discuss with me!

Thank you again!

EDIT: One last thing... Don't be so disappointed that Team USA lost. It's not like they sucked... it's just that they didn't play as well as they could have. Like greece in the final, you really need to exectue well in these type of games. Any mistakes early will dig a hole for you and it's pretty hard to get back. This tourney could have gone many different ways. Finally, basketball is a world-wide sport in a sense!!!

And I should be happy... This USA 3rd placing makes Kobe look even better lol

Will you do this for the 08 Olympics? That would be great.

It'd be even more cool if we had teams like USA vs. China going against each other, you played that online. Like what HG and I did. THat would be even better.

- Do a dynasty or a thread with all my thoughts?

PS. After reading the Raptors fan thread; Im glad that Raptors fans know what they are getting in Jorge Garbajosa... and also they saw how good Calderon can be when given minutes... and how good Rasho played for Slovenia... Then you got all the other Euros in Slokar, Bargnani and Parker who played in Europe but is American. They got quite a team! lol Great to know Toronto fans are excited bout the next season... and I just feel proud that I knew what they were getting before this tournament began :D
