That'd be a pretty nice lineup. They wouldn't have much time to be successful though because Carter is getting old and unless he learns to play without all his athleticism he's not going to be super good when he gets really old. If he did slip into more of a non-dominant offensive roll he'd bet good though.

Carter already knows how to play without his athleticism. He's gotten a very respectable jump shot (although he settles for too many athletic fadaways which results in a dip in his percentage) and his basketball IQ is underrated. Carter has pretty good passing ability also so I don't see Vince have a severe drop off statsically.

Also take into consideration that Vince is a ridiculous athlete. When he gets old I'm sure even in his "older" years his athleticism will regress, but even if it regresses it'll still be on par with some of the average to slightly above athletes in the NBA.

Yep, it's just those finger rolls that he tries to do over the opposing team's center and forwards that kill his game.

If there are open players, why force it to the hoop?

Hey, I read on hoopshype.com Nets are interested in Eddie House. I hope they can sign him, he's for me the best shooter in the league. (Y)

Nets definatley need to grab some talented players this offseason to strengthen their bench. House is a great scorer and i would absolutley love to have him in next years roster.

Spurs signed Francisco Elson today :? I thawt he might have been a good sign for the Nets considering theyre low on big men.

Reggie Evans, Rasual Butler and Eddie House are all good FA that the Nets should look heavily into. Evans a prolific rebounder, Butler and House both excellent shooters. Please Rod Thorn dont make the same mistakes last year, sign some reasonable bench players

nets need a deeper bench.they cant depend on cliff all the time.hopefully mcinnis will stay injury free and williams and wright develop into good players. This team is going to have a good future and i cant wait till they move to brooklyn in 2009 so i can see them every day lol

They don't want McInnis....he became a lazy fatass while he was injured, had a bad attitude regarding playing time, and his rehab process went slowly because he didn't show the will to return to the court.

Overall, he sucked as a backup PG and that only leaves Jacque Vaughn....who couldn't do much either and is a Spur now.

Tue Jul 25, 2006 1:19 am

McInnis is signed for another 2 years so hes not going anywhere...he probably going to play the 2 guard while Williams play the point.....

There is no way McInnis plays the 2.

McInnis will just be veteran insurance for Marcus Williams, just in case he doesn't perform the way everybody expects him too.

Wed Jul 26, 2006 1:37 am

actually.....mcinnis can play the 2...IVE SEEN HIM play the two when i went to see the nets play the bucks eariler in the season...............so hes capable of playin the 2

Wed Jul 26, 2006 3:22 am

He's capable of playing the two, but it's not like he'll be effective in that position. It's like watching Jalen Rose run an offence and play the point; it's an absolutely disgusting sight to see.

Thu Jul 27, 2006 9:57 am

I think they will keep McInnis as 3rd PG or instead they will trade him, maybe for some future draft pick. I really liked him before coming to the Nets... now he's dead for me :P

Sun Jul 30, 2006 3:06 am

Hopefully he'll be caught in a street violence incident, frees up some salary space :D

RON MERCER BETWEEN MACCABI AND RYTAS!!!
Fitzy?

Sun Jul 30, 2006 12:26 pm

yeh they obviously need ron mercer, im shocked they got rid of him in the first place

Nets are getting eleven national games next year, the NBA gave them an official apology for ignoring them on the national level entirely.

Which is good, it pissed me off to see a matchup involving Portland, Philadelphia, Boston, even Charlotte, but not a division leading team.

Sun Aug 06, 2006 12:30 am

Zoran Planicic is headed to Europe, do not understand why he no longer wants to play for the Nets.

Sun Aug 06, 2006 1:29 am

Ohhh, I don't know, maybe he doesn't get any playing time, or maybe the majority of the Nets fan think he blows ass, or maybe its the fact that he just plain old sucks.

Edit: Oh yeah, since I don't think this has been posted yet, Kareem Rush was last seen working out with the Nets. I hope he'll be able to make the team since the NEts rae currently lacking in depth on their bench and Rush seems like a perfect spark off the bench for their team.

Sun Aug 06, 2006 11:31 am

zoran planinic going to europe? didnt he just get a contract extention?

Sun Aug 06, 2006 1:32 pm

I can't get much info on Planinic, so I don't think he's really leaving...but he's not so much of a loss, he had long streaks of shooting lapses and the only major thing he's done in his career was make a 77-footer to close out a 3rd quarter, not even a clutch moment. It's on youtube, if anyone wants to see that.

Sun Aug 06, 2006 3:27 pm

i dont mind if he goes hes not helping, looks to be another boring New Jersey offseason

Sun Aug 06, 2006 3:53 pm

i was expecting alot of bench shuffling for the nets, but maybe the addition of williams and boone has stopped that

Mon Aug 07, 2006 1:06 am

They will turn out to be good, but Boone's loss until January or the All-Star break sucks for the Nets.

Under the new playoff format, New Jersey could find themselves in danger of being sent down to the 4th seed as well, since Cleveland came out in the end of the season with a marginally higher record.

Mon Aug 07, 2006 6:12 am

Planinic is with us for some years, and playing few minutes. I think he's gettin bored on Nets, maybe he has any good friend on the roster and wants to leave.

MY 500 th POST  :bday: :chug: :cheeky:

Mon Aug 07, 2006 7:10 am

Without Boone, I dont see the Nets progressing this season.
Also with him, I had not thought they could make it far.
Its just their lack of an inside presence, Collins will never be more than a backup C/F on every other team and Cliff Robinson is just too old.
And I dont see Krstic having his breakthrough this season.
The main problem is, that the Nets will again try to make it with RJ-VC-JK and will again fail, I hope this time they will rebuild after this season.

Dont get me wrong I like how the Nets play and I like RJ, Vince and of course Kidd, but I dont think they will be successfull as long as there is no good big man with them.

Marcus Williams is definitely a ray of hope, but I dont think he will get many minutes ...

Only my opinion on the Nets, maybe I am totally wrong ;)
