Well, a lot of people love to talk about rap and rock and all that stuff around here in the NLSC, but some of my favorite comes from somewhere besides the Western Hemisphere.
My favorite rap doesnt come in English. Germany, I've noticed, has some fantastic rap.
Fettes Brot
Die Phantastichen Vier
Sido
Fler
and Bushido are all great
Then, I was watching the movie Tsotsi and noticed it had some great African rap.
Zola is a great rapper, from South Africa, and a lot of his music is really fun to listen to.
Then of course theres the non-rap, "foreign" music.
De Mens is a neat band from I think Holland that sings more rock type music, and then theres Wir Sind Helden, a sort of German No Doubt on they play more rock style.
I also like to listen to lots of Latin and South American music, and I've taken a liking to Carlos Vivas, Diomedes Diaz, and a few others.
Anyway, if you guys know a lot of non-mainstream, non english type music, post it here, I always love to learn about new bands/artists.

Well, I mainly listen to American/English music, but my favorite "non American" bands/singers are Ligabue (Italy), Sui Generis, Andrés Calamaro (Argentina) and Juanes (Colombia). I can't think about any other right now.

no they arn`t great, they actually suck, but few songs are good, like the sido has the song for his mother, but rest ist just wack, the song over shit is just discusting ("I remember there was a rapper at my block, who said that his the best, i took him the ass, he was scream like a lil girl, then i gave him to suck my penis, he started to puke, mybe i putted it to deep, or it was just smelling after shit" and "if u want someone to be taked in the ass, i`m the one, it will lil hurt and u will scream, but without that i can`t cum" )
Fler...is the same....
and wasn`t there a song from Sido - Der N*ger ( or Just the N word ), were he dissed all the black people!

Indian:
Chaiya Chaiya - AR Rehman/Sukwhinder Singh. Used in the credits of Inside Man.
That guy is like the Hans Zimmer of India. If I'm not mistaken, he gave music for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom Opera.

HELL YEAH!!! I thought I was the only one who listened to Indian Music!!! If you want to hear it go to raaga.com, click on hindi, and in the search bar type in Chaiya Chaiya under the Movie tab. The first couple seconds are crap, like all Indian songs...
Another of my favorite indian songs is:
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai- from the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Mubarak Mubarak(first minute is boring)- (listen to Mubarak Mubarak)
http://dishant.com/album/Marriage-Songs-3.html
though the thiingabout indian music is that you like it more, at least for me, for the tune than the meaning

There aren't too many new eastern rock bands I'm aware of, basically just Rammstein and Edguy.
Fri Jul 28, 2006 9:33 am
Some of russian bands i like - Faktor 2, Korol' i Shut(King and Clown), Delphin(Dolphin), Mummy Troll, etc. From Europe - Ramstein, that Sweden band that had their song as the main one in NHL 05.

If you understand hindi, listen to the title song of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Now that's some deep shit.
I'm the opposite of you Dream, I prefer the poetic lyrical value opposed to the music. Then you have some albums that mix good poetic lyrics with some fantastic classical indian instruments and some new ones giving you an amazing combination. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Kuch Kuch Hota Hain and many others fall under this category.

I love Punjabi, and Jaunes as well. Sido is really messed up, but I know a lot of people know him...
Die Artze is also pretty popular, their Geschwester Lieben song is messed up though...

Totally forgot about The Rasmus and The Caesars, pretty nice Swedish bands, their songs are almost all in English though.

Well, I speak fluent Urdu, so I understand alot of the songs. And they do have a fairly good meaning, but I mean if it has a crappy tune I would rather listen to it without the tune. Which is why I think Indian Music attraacts me, cuz evry1 has a good tune so you want to listen
and yeah bhangra music rocks

The Rasmus is a horrible Finnish band.
The Caesars
Actually Caesars Palace, but yeah, they're Swedish.
I'm lost as to how it's music made by bands outside America, or bands that sing in non-english.
Buggerit.
