red rooter, wish I could go buy a XBoX 360.
If you have an LCD Monitor, just get those VGA (?) cables, but you got to check out to see if your LCD is compatible. (this is from the XBoX 360 thread)
Btw, which XBoX package are you getting ?

Fitzy, i know its a stretch mate but trust me, save your dough a while longer and get yourself a nice high def plasma.
I got a high def panasonic viera to go with my 360. Yeah, im currently averaging about 4 hours sleep a night.
If you stay with lcd i'd recommend a sony bravia.
Either way, fun gaming awaits!

Fitzy, I suggest eBay then, there are bargains on LCD's.
Tue Jul 11, 2006 9:30 pm

Then go with an LCD if you want a smaller one. Like I said, visit eBay.

what i want to do is:
sell my current desktop pc and my PS2 (anyone interested?)
then build a new computer and buy a 360, but buy one of those monitors that can be used as a TV as well as a PC monitor, with HD capabilities if possible
ive found the Dell W1900 LCD TV, which would be awesome but does anyone have any recomendations?

If you want to use a tv screen for a computer moniter buy a video card with dvi out ports and then buy a dvi-HDMI cord and hook it up to a nice flatscreen tv. You can then use the computer in HD 720p or 1080i. I would do that but my Pc isnt near my HDTV.

do you recommend any tvs?

Ok ive been looking at this thread and now Im wondering if I can use my LCD pc monitor with my X360.
But the thing is, how would I go about plugging the X360 into it, since it has the computer style plug??
Sorry Fitz for not answering your question.

You have to get a VGA cable or something sth.
Mon Jul 24, 2006 5:23 pm
Oh that sucks, the cable isnt even released yet in Australia.....
Mon Jul 24, 2006 10:17 pm
Yeah it is, I got one at EB about 2 months ago. They stock them usually in the glass cabinent behind the counter. Usually around $40AU. For all the info on the cable read this:
http://hardware.teamxbox.com/reviews/xbox-360/40/Xbox-360-VGA-HD-AV-Cable/p1/
It tells you about resolution, what monitors it is best suited for etc. Using a site called Google (if anyone has ever heard of it) I searched and found all this information, particularly this site. Hopefully this will quash the endless questions regarding the connection of the console to a monitor. It aint that hard.
N.B. This isn't directed specifically at anyone, just the random newbies that have developed the capacity and tendency to write in this forum but fail the simplistic test of trying to find information on their own.

Well I actually looked at the xbox.com.au site and it said it wasnt released in Aus yet so I figured that if they dont have it, no one would have it, which was quite a safe assumption since Xbox themselves said so.

Sorry, my response comes across as suggesting that I was criticising you, but in fact I was trying to just inform you that they are in fact in store at present. My criticism was targetted at the various poster's who keep asking about the VGA connection when they could easily find the information if they looked a little. That was my intention.
In considering that, it is ridiculous that the official xbox site does not provide this information. I can understand how my response could be seen as a crituque. My bad. Hopefully this clarifies my stance.
