Nate Robinson is mad cause larry brown sat him most of his rookie yr.
Sat Jul 08, 2006 1:30 pm
Nate Robinson's dunk was bananas in the game. He did the NBA Live self alley oop off the bounce. Just noticed it, it was nice.

Each side has to accept some of the blame. Larry Brown did jerk the rookies around a little bit with all the lineup changes and players like Lee and Robinson starting one moment and playing five minutes the next and he did alienate his players. But at the same time, he's a veteran coach who demands some respect and to talk about him the way Robinson does in that article isn't very classy.
The Knicks should just put that all behind them. They've got enough problems without dwelling on a coach who's no longer at the helm.

damn i didn't know NY had so many guards - five guards - Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Quentin Richardson, Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson. Now I know why they're so messed up.
Sat Jul 08, 2006 8:21 pm
You forgot Mardy Collins. And wow, I wouldn't want anyone of those on my team.

That particular combination may not be working out as well as Thomas probably anticipated but having five guards on a roster is hardly a sure-fire recipe for disaster. That would allow for a starter and backup at each guard spot plus a third reserve which in theory should make for a solid rotation.

I know about the others, but what did Mardy Collins or Quentin Richardson ever do wrong?
Sat Jul 08, 2006 11:52 pm
Mardy is cool, Q is too injury prone (chronic back problems) and overpaid. Actually, I really like Collins.

I don't even think they'll make the Playoffs.
I'm doubtful they'll even be in the hunt.
All the Knicks players seem like a bunch of babies too me. I lost so much respect for them after the article this week.
Yeah, but I'm sure he said the same crap last year.

Especially that little punk-ass Nate Robinson, JWB. Yes, Larry Brown is a drama queen and a pain to deal with. But LB is right, you have to be disciplined on the court and make smart decisions. F--- that playing to the fans sht - play smart, fundamental basketball. You see what Brown's old school coaching did for Chauncey Billups, Nate?
Sun Jul 09, 2006 7:43 am
I did expect some players on that team to be treated badly by Brown and justifiably so, what kind of professional player are they when they don't even know how to set up a proper pick/screen? That sort of "knowldege" of the game by an NBA player would drive me bonkers if I was a veteran coach in the NBA.
Sun Jul 09, 2006 7:45 am
The Knicks would have a solid lineup with
Marbury
Francis
Richardson
Frye
Curry
They're solid, but they could get an amazing player in their frontline if they traded Francis. I would love to see little Nate ge ttraded and become a star.

Anyone watchign the Las Vegas Summer League games on MSG? I'm watching Knicks/Pistons now and Knicks are winning by 20 at half. I'm going to finish watching the game I'm just wondering if I'm the only one watching these games?Unlike the reak NYK, these young guys actuallu PLAY.
By the Way little Nate broke his nose yesterday and is playing today without the mask.

Remember no Larry Brown, Isiah will play who is playing well and play them consistantly. Theres hope for the knicks

These games don't really mean squat though. The Knicks played fine in these summer league games last season too. And look how that turned out..

That one good thing about LB being out. He coached horribly last season. Choosing starting line-ups based on who's hometown it is is ridiculous. And no consistency with the players' minutes.

exactly, that's why the knicks will suprise people this year. Jerome James won't start because he is playing at home like with Larry Brown.

While Knick fans booed and NBA analysts shook their heads, former Knicks coach Larry Brown believes his former team may have steal of the draft in South Carolina's Renaldo Balkman.
According to several sources, Brown was calling Balkman "a potential steal" weeks before the draft.
While he was still employed by the Knicks, Brown was responsible for running Balkman's workout. He also scouted him extensively during the Orlando pre-draft camp.
"There were five players that figured to be available late in the first round that Larry really liked," says one Knicks source. "I don't know if Larry would have taken him as high as 20 but he always liked Balkman."
Brown, according to the source, told several of his close associates around the league to consider Balkman. Although Brown and Thomas disagreed on everything last season, they shared the same opinion on a raw forward with loads of athleticism and limited offensive skills. When reached at his East Hampton home, Brown declined to comment on the Knicks.
I'll be damned. Larry Brown likes a ROOKIE.

SALT LAKE CITY – The New York Knicks have decided not to match the Spurs’ three-year, $7 million offer to restricted free agent Jackie Butler, a Knicks’ spokesman said Wednesday.
The Spurs have yet to officially hear from the Knicks or the NBA.
The Spurs also have not heard from the Denver Nuggets, who have until Thursday to match an offer for restricted free agent Francisco Elson.
Both Butler and Elson are centers.

this sucks, Butler was easily better than Jerome James..
Thu Jul 20, 2006 10:41 am
Its not a question of who is better, its who ISN'T better than Jerome James.
Its a shame that Butler had to go. He definitely outplayed a lot of the New York big men near the end of the season.

I'm happy for Butler. He's going to a winning team, and he'll get more PT. He was one of the few Knicks I enjoyed watching. Kid has heart.
You know what's funny, man? The Knicks organization was upset with Brown for giving Butler more PT that that stiff James. That tells you how low this franchise has sunk.

"Walt Frazier in Triuble After Spat with Marbury?"
If MSG's dumb enough to ax Clyde, I am done. F--- Starbury & f--- Isiah.

they need to release marbury.. this is too much
Mon Jul 24, 2006 1:05 am
Marbury, in an introspective mood, went on to alert viewers that he "became a man" during his public feud with Brown. "I was pro-active," Marbury said. "Somebody told me I went from Gandhi to Malcolm X."
You have to be kidding

this guy is retarded. Him and his cousin should piss off to Europe or something, let him infest their leagues.

^ WTF? Gandhi to Malcom X? Is Starbury on crack?
