Does personality affect how attractive you find a woman?

The personality thing is true i mean theres plenty of chicks who i think come off as sexy but might not be 10s. But the man law is...You ALWAYS tell the girls...you look for personality and looks arent big. They love it.

Well I used to date a fashion model for some time. She was damn pretty and even smart. But she was a total bitch. Self-centered, shallow and just generally bitchy. So I guess some stereotypes really do apply. Of course, not all models are like that. But that is how I learned that looks ain't the most important thing.

I go to a school with average to ridiculously ugly looking girls. I'm forced to become less shallow. So yes, I do follow the cliche of liking girls for their personality.

Me too, but my standard will not go as low as them... that's why I don't talk to girls that much , can't stand the ugly ones. As long as their face is clean (not fucked up and acne-ed), I'm fine with that... I can do the searching but not the catching .

I read this thread immediatelly after watching Before Sunset (Before Sunset 2) and I must say I would put personality way above looks, but I we stay realistic - both looks and personality go hand in hand. I wouldn't go out with an ugly chick and I hell wouldn't go out with a dumb one, but I'd still pick a girl with decent looks and superb personality (intelligence, charisma, sense of humour,...) over a girl with decent personality and superb looks anytime.

And with time passed, I also find personality an integral part of how attractive a girl is. The older I get, the less I find girls out of magazines sexually attractive - they represent only nice bodies and pretty faces, but that is not what sex or attraction are all about. I find it more attractive if girl has a combination of intelligence and horniness that if she has a big rack. But then again, I'm really, really, ridiculously good looking, so I don't have to make compromises .

Personality is maybe 60% attraction for me, the rest have to come in some form of nice physical feature(s). Tho i'd rather have a drop dead gorgeous chick with an empty head then a poo faced chick who is my other half. But hey thats me

I can't stand stupid girls, but I would say that the girls I'm attacted to now I didn't really notice at first. They had "average" looks at first (hence why I did not notice them at first) but after I got to know them and I found out how cool they were, it made them that much more attractive to me.

I think physical attraction is a reason why divorce is skyrocketing, too many people get hitched way too quick ala Hollywood. Personality is definitely something I'd seriously look into probably 4-5 years from now when I'm thinking of marriage but right now I'd go with a better looking chick with less of a personality than the average chick who could be a near perfect match based on likes and dislikes etc. I think it's pretty BS how girls and guys say personality really matters above anything yet always say 'yes' to the jock and 'no' to the nobody.

Personality matters to me but right now I don't see myself getting serious with anybody, I'm not just gonna go after any good looking chick cause of her tastier punani but let's just say it ain't a must to be a Clippers fan right now.

For me its definantly personality over anything else. Not only that me and her have to have chemistry. Looks are just a plus. Saying that though, I will not go out with anything unbearable to look at.

Today, its mostly used with Asians that have the above definition. be attracted to a woman is the thing that will draw you to her....her having a personality will help her keep you....I've met a lot of attractive women but I don't find them attractive because of their personalities, or lackthereof....sure, if it's for a night, I could look past it....maybe even for a week or a month, but eventually personality matters....

so to answer the question, yes & no....a good personality will make you more attracted to a woman, but there are limitations, as sometimes it doesn't matter how good the personality is, you can't overlook the looks so-to-speak....so a mix of both is ideal....

if you're out out for a good night, looks....out for anything more, they need a pulse & a personality to go with some looks....

Well, my girlfriend is very very pretty. But also is really funny and very nice. I just love talking to her and being around her. Sometimes people just ask out a girl because they are hot, and I understand why. But alot of the times they are just using the girl to make out with them or sex etc. In the begining of the last school year (8th) I really liked this girl. yeah, I go to UCI (University of California, Irvine) which has been nicknamed University of Chinese Immigrants.
So I know about fobs. The best way I would describe them is that they're obviously not well-adjusted to the culture and most likely don't care or don't want to assimilate.

About the 'growing old with someone comments'... (i.e. personality is basically what keeps you with em etc. whatever) I beg to differ... Do you want to be stuck with your girlfriend for life after she gains 50 pounds just because she has personality? Lol that sounds pretty harsh, but one of my fears is growing old with my foxy woman (whoever that will be), then she gets fat. It scares me! I wanna pick a woman who is fit. Cos so many women eat too many burgers during pregnancy and get overweight. The harsh reality hurts.
