What I meant was Garcia was trying to act the way Al Pacino acts, and not the role itself. Garcia's character was supposed to act like Sonny since he is Sonny's bastard other child.
Jackal wrote:Also in Batman, there's this Nightwing character I hear about, anyone know anything about him?
Nightwing was the original Robin (Dick Grayson). He split the bats to be his own superhero.

yeh i know he's supposed to the son of sonny. i know my Godfather shite
but i don't understand how you think he was trying to act like how Al Pacino acts? what was Pacino's acting style before he became a yeller?

I saw superman today..and it was fuckin BOSS. It's a long movie..so you get your money's worth in 2.5 hours. The action is well spaced out...and you find yourself blowed away by the amazing CGI even when supes is doing menial taskes like throwing islands into space. You can differenciate the CGI from real phootage alot of the times though..but it's no where as bad as the HULK movie. There's a nice suprise about 2/3 the way of this movie...so look out for that. With this suprise..the next movie should be real interesante senor.

Is it true they used footage of the late great Marlon Brando in it?
I bought a couple of more special editions today, namely:
Once Upon A Time In America (Watched it half, will finish it tomorrow, up to now, really great.)
Trainspotting: What a motherfucker, the ending was a bit weak, but the movie on its own, as a whole, quite scary. Recommended.
Snatch: I doubt anyone on these forums hasn't heard of Snatch.

I agree with everything you said. This movie was perfect.
And the 'surprise' is awesome. I was NOT expecting that.

Can anyone recommend any good ghetto type movies; like Dont Be a Menace to South Central while Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. Since seeing the "Friday" movies, i am quite interested in movies like that.
Sat Jul 01, 2006 4:41 am
Click, i was surprised becuase Sandler goes to the future and ends up in a city that IS the ghetto... yes the whole city. he turns gangster... lmao.
Watch it!!
Actually I am just joking, and would recommend you Menace to Society II. If you are looking for a ghetto-type movie in theatres then I cannot help you there.

I was finally able to get my hands on the Requiem for a Dream DVD, I think I searched stores and movie rental places for over a year to find that movie.
All I can say is I'm left with an incredibley uneasy feeling in my stomach and my brain just seems fizzled. Awesome movie, but so so fucked up.

i just saw CLICK. i was never a big fan of adam sandler, but i can say i am now. this movie will blow you away. i'm not gonna spoil it for everyone, but basically it's trying to push across the point not to take time for granted. i've never had tears flowing watching a movie, but i sure as hell pulled an adam morrison. watch this! kate beckinsale is the personification of eye candy. and she can act too

*cough* jessica alba sucks *cough*

I didn't think it was THAT good... for one it was too sad, and the funny bits just weren't all that funny.
Sat Jul 01, 2006 8:01 pm
meh, i was never expecting it to be hilariously funny. going in i wasn't judging it as a comedy as someone told me before hand it's a movie that makes you reflect, so i took that into account. the story that was being told was wonderful, it had your emotions going in all different directions. it's a good thing they weren't trying to push comedy in the actual film (opposed to the trailers) otherwise it would be a big, big failure. too sad? yes, i agree. but it was warranted and it fit well into the context of the film. if they made it a laughing marathon with what was going on in his life it would've been disastrous.

Yeah, I agree that he was trying to emulate Sonny, but he didn't succeed given that you could tell Sonny was pissed almost all the time and Garcia's character was reserved and indifferent for most of the time.
Anyway, Superman Returns is an awesome movie. Definitely check it out.

Garcia is fine compared to Sofia Copolla... she ruined the third movie really...

Yup...her character and her acting did. I mean..how the fuck you turn the godfather into some incest flick? Jaesus fucking christ...Daddy Francis musta been on crack.

Thoughts on Superman:
Special effects were great, absolutely seamless.
Spacey was fantastic as Lex Luthor
Routh or whatever it is, makes a great Clark/Superman
It wasn't corny, unlike other Supermen movies
The story was passable.
Negatives:
The suit was terrible.
There was absolutley no character development whatsoever.
Lois acted like she barely knew Clark, they worked together all the bloody time. He's not a stranger.
The ending was bad, a complete anti climax since they gave away the fact that the little kid is Superman's kid like 40 minutes prior.
The movie has very very little dialogue... it's quite strange to see them barely talking, they really could've taken out some of the flying scenes and put in some more dialogue.
Anyways I did enjoy it, but as a complete Superman fanboy I'd give it 6.5/10.

Of those I've seen Click, Da Vinci Code, Poseidon, Superman and X-Men...
Click: Kinda funny but not very feel good, it's a bit depressing.
Da Vinci Code: See it if you haven't read the book, better than I thought.
Poseidon: Action movie, fairly predictable and no real story
Superman: Obvious blockbuster, probably my recommendation.
X-Men: Decent but I'd see Superman over it.

I watched Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift last night.
It was okay, but like discussed earlier, the cool was forced.
And the chicks were hot.
Best part was easily when
those 1000 people all moved to the side and the dudes drifted in the middle of the big crowd, that was real cool oh and also Dom Torretto
Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:17 pm
Superman is average to slightly above average for me.
I didn't like the ending.
Mon Jul 03, 2006 3:17 pm
Just got back from watching Superman and it was pretty good. Didnt see many flaws and overall it would get a recommendation from me.
Probably gonna go see Click next....maybe tomorrow if I am bored.
Mon Jul 03, 2006 4:50 pm
damnit, i we went to see superman but some of my frineds didnt turn up in time

and the next session was like 2 hours later, as well as click, so we saw Fast and Furious.
It was ok, nuthin special really, but the crashes were pretty good.
Mon Jul 03, 2006 9:10 pm
I watched Resovoir Dogs for the first time last night. Was amazing.
Thu Jul 06, 2006 12:55 am
has anyone seen this movie? its from 1998 but i just saw it the other day...it is quite possibly the best movie i have ever seen. its pretty distrubing tho. its about a skinhead neo nazi who kills two black kids trying to steal his car and is sent to jail. the acting by the main character is absolutely amazing.if you havent seen it, try to get a hold of it (i didnt buy it i "got" it, you can get it off limewire).

(i didnt buy it i "got" it, you can get it off limewire).
Yeah, we don't do that around here.
I wrote I watched it a few days ago again, it's a good movie, I wouldn't classify it as the best movie of all time. Edward Norton is a kickass actor and the story was quite gripping.
Best movie of all time has to be Fight Club.
Hmm, Edward Norton again eh, perhaps Gordon was right, maybe he could pull off the Joker...
