Credit to them though. They deserved the win. Besides from prediciton league points, I actually was kinda rooting for them a bit. Coulda had 2 more goals if not for the post.

Nice run by Germany though. They played well but faltered in the end. They deserve credit for playing above the expectations of many. People were saying they were the worst German team ever but they biegged to differ. Kudos. (y)(y)

Damn, too bad for Germany Italy played a very good game though and isn't undeserving of the win. It's just a shame it had to happen with just one and a half minute left in the overtime. I would have loved a penalty shootout (and seeing Germany in the finals), but oh well, that's the way she goes. Kudos on both teams for playing a very entertaining and well played game..

it was an awesome game for real. I've never watched a game that went 0-0 so long have so much action...at least what I remember.

It is hard to loose a game like this in that way, but hey no one even in Germany gave anything about this team and they reached the seminfinals.

So I am sad, but pretty satisfied, we are among the best teams in the world.

Sigh...would have preferred Germany going on to the finals, them playing so well plus being the host. Still slightly pissed about the Italy-Australia game.

Oh, fuck, I didn't expect this!! I don't mean Italy winning, but actually deserving it. This is the first match in the World Cup they play against a good team and the first time I see ALL the players putting all themselves into the match.
Too bad for Germany, especially for Lehmann, who showed that even if he's 37 years old, he still can be a GREAT goalkeeper.

Anyways, I'm really pissed at the moment. Not just that Germany lost but also losing at the very end of the game Also I was really ready for the penalty-shootout and the parties afterwards. Now Germany lost and you don't see anybody smiling around here (except those italian pizza people)

Why do they have to make their best game against us? Throughout the tournament, Italy sucked. How could they score in the final two minutes? Germany totally controlled the game in regulation. I won't say it's undeserved, but it's just so sad... We played a great world cup so far, while Italy had their first game where they weren't crap. Aw, man...

usually i don't give a shit who wins, but i'm glad the italians won. i tuned in during extra time right when an italian player and a german player collided midair. it was quite obvious the italian player was the only one who got hit, but the idiot german faked like he got smacked in the head - nothing remotely close even touched him there. two goals in the last minute, that was embarassing. go italy

Yoou should have seen the whole game. Italian players going down as if they'd been hit over the head with a night stick every five minutes. Why do they have to be such pussies? They don't need that. In overtime, they showed that they can do better. And without flopping.

Yeah I thought that too, the diving is incredible. It's like the Germans didn't commit one tackle without an Italian player flying across the pitch and holding his face/knee/ankle/arm etc.
