so goes against the second of group F (probably Croatia), against Croatia will be hard but I think we'll win (sorry Jugs) and then we go to the quarter finals.

Remember '02? 2-1. Croatia wins.

England beats Paraguay 1-0. Frank Lampard got a few shots on goal in this game but couldn't score. The only goal England got was one the Paraguay player headed into his own net.

Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:05 am

That was a pretty gay match. After the first goal, I placed high expectations on the match being another exciting match like the Germany v Costa Rica but they decreased in performance and was just crap. The Aussie analysists gave the match shit.

Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:08 am

England played shittier than I thought :x I was drooling about England midfield, but they didn't show too much. They couldn't score a goal on their own. Anyway, Sweden should score a lot of goals in the next game so it should be fun :P

Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:15 am

England strikers were (N)
I hope Rooney can play in the next game, because he is the only one who can score in this squad.
I just don't like the thing called Peter Crouch :?

Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:53 am

I was expecting more from England after first minutes. Pity, that they didn't score a goal on their own.

Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:54 am

Was that really England on the pitch :? ?Or it was just a bunch of look a likes.I was so bored when I watched the game. For some reason England really sucked today and with a little luck Paraguay would easily won.

Damn...what the hell is wrong with Sweden?

It was very exciting to watch Trinidad and Tobago. They played with heart and soul. And with only 10 players left they still managed to defend well. (Y)

Trinidad and Tobago's (spelling?) backup goalie. Their original starting goalie was injured during the pregame warmup. Man, that was amazing, Trinidad and Tobago was starting their backup goalie last minute before the game started, played basically the WHOLE second half with 10 men, and STILL pulled off the tie, props to them :D .

Sun Jun 11, 2006 4:08 am

I still can't belive this.Sweden couldn't beat Trinidad & Tobago, but Slovenia beated them 3-0.One thing I saw was that Trinidad & Tobago played with there heart, like Slovenia use to play.Anyways great work by T&T

i just watched Trinidad Tobago game.. they kinda suck but they held the tie, that wasn´t really Sweden, they couldnt get a shot.. they just tried to cross the ball to the area, nothing else

anyway im still waiting for my team toplay so i can see how i can place my hopes on it this year..

Sun Jun 11, 2006 4:20 am

FUCK! I'm disappointed. Their defence was as strong as always, but they could get very little right when they got to the other side of the pitch (which was most of the time).. And when they did do something good, there was someone that managed to fuck it up with an extra pass, a fumble, a bad finish etc. Oh well, hopefully they learn a lot from the game and manage to come back from it and move on to the next round...

Oh, and congrats to Trinidad and Tobago (y)

Two sucky matches so far today. Hopefully Argentina can provide something to thrill me. Sweden had their chances but wasted them. Hoepfully the result doesnt come back to haunt them.

Sun Jun 11, 2006 5:28 am

Argentina 1-0. This match looks great so far (Y)

Wrong..they had tons of chances.. T&T's goal keeper was just too strong. End of story.

Argentina 2 - nil...too bad IVC's goal keeper sucks ass...hehe.

2-1 one now, with about 7 mins left not including added time. Drogba scored at around the 81st minute or so.

Sun Jun 11, 2006 6:54 am

lol, Drogba wanted to get a tie so badly, he threw the ball at Argentina's keeper(so they can the ball faster) and got a yellow card

I believe the statline was Sweden 18 shots to T&T's 6. I have to agree, that last second replacement goalie was a hero for that team.

Sun Jun 11, 2006 7:28 am

Yeah... Argentina played some great soccer

Sun Jun 11, 2006 7:36 am

Props to Trinidad and Tobago for their gutsy play, at least they weren't disappointing like Ivory Coast, which I am rooting for.
Ivory Coast likes to concentrate on offense, too bad they can't do that when they're busy trying to play half decent defense most of the time. :x

70% of our team were injured and/or not at the world cup because of random problems.
But after the match with Ivory Coast today I think Croatia could win against us...
Drogba scored at the 82nd because of Argentina's errors during the 2nd half.
They didn't understand that if you accelerate the game's rhythm against an African team, (where ALL the players RUN until the end of the game and don't get tired) you get hit in the ass by them, because you run, and will miss a pass, they will get the ball and RUN and you'll not be able to catch them because you're tired.
That's the error Argentina committed in the 2nd half. We played good in the 1st half and we won the game and that's the important thing.
We'll see if tomorrow Italy commits the same error.

I can't believe you guys haven't heard of Shaka Hislop. He played at Portsmouth for years and was instrumental in getting them promoted to the premiership. The shocking thing for me is that he's from Trinidad and Tobago, I thought he was of some other nationality.

I love watching Ivory Coast play, their players look so imposing with the ball. Too bad they're really not that tough, but still.

And Joe how many teams are you affiliating yourself with?

Sun Jun 11, 2006 1:51 pm

 Probably 2, Italy & Argentina.
