Sorry for the double post, I just saw this.
You are right in one sense, this will not stop the violence in Iraq. However, maybe this is create a state of confusion in the terrorists of Iraq. Also, they found a bunch of information in the building that he was in which led to even more U.S-led raids.
Sense of confusion? You mean like in the past when killing somone and making them a martyr has? No my friend, killing them accomplishes nothing. Capturing them might..but not killing.
No, killing him is a much, much better option than capturing him. If you capture him you know the terrorists will step up their opperations and kidnap many innocent Americans to try to "sell" to America to release him. The potential crimes following would be a travesty. Killing him was, believe it or not, the safest thing to do.

I find it a little bit racist to say terrorist to refer to a muslim.
I have gotten like 6 pm's already from people thanking me for calling you out for what you really are Riot.

iKe7in wrote:Well Riot I certainly don't think you're a racist, and I'm pretty sure most people here feel the same. The fact is that the vast majority of terrorists in the world all come from the same region, and are all muslim. It's a fact. I certainly don't assume that every muslim believes the same things that these terrorists do. I see that muslims take their religion much more seriously than any other race, and unfortunately it has led to a lot of bloodshed and senseless murder, like many other religions have, but maybe not to the extent of others, and the biggest problem is that it not only has continued into modern times, but it has intensified.
That being said, I don't see it ever ending. Killing the terrorists is only going to make more terrorists, and onnocent civillian casualties don't exaclty help the casue either. Establishing an Iraqi democratic society is not going to happen, no matter how many years the US keeps its troops there. Its a fundamental mistake to believe that its a War on Terror. To quote a great man, they might as wll declare a War on Jealousy. Evil people who feel wronged are part of the human condition, and will resurface in every generation.
Now after I say that, I wonder, Riot, why is it that you want to go over there and fight? Is it simply the 'free' education? It may seem like a great deal, but you may feel differently if you get injured or worse. I know that a lot of people believe they are defending freedom, but I don't consider it freedom when your government takes on multiple wars against countries that have never attacked them. Clearly there was a problem with having Saddam in power, but going over the UN's head isn't the way to go. Its very obvious that the UN has faults, so wuldn't the more effective action be to fix those problems? If the rules are wrong or aren't inforced, you don't just ignore the rules, you do your best to develop a new system of rules that helps everyone.
edit: I remember seeing
this a while back, and I was wondering Riot if you've been asked to partake in it already.
Why do I want to go over there and fight? I think I've explained this about 20 times on these forums. I believe in both wars (War on Terror and War in Iraq) and I would be proud to fight and serve in those wars. The free education has something (but little) to do with my quest to join the armed forces. I have a lot of anger inside of me directed at the terrorists and insergents and this seems like the only effective way to release that.
In the end, I don't care what the operation is once I am in the military. You do what your country tells you to do. That's how the military works and that's what I like. Tell me what to do and I'll do it. That's what makes the military so great. They are extremely flexible and impressionable.
You know what else is great about the military? You are part of a family. You are part of a family that will fight side by side and protect each other. Going to combat is a very stressful time and spending it with those guys brings you close. You have a bunch of guys that will protect and defend you and you'll do the same for them. Come to think about it, the same can be said for being a police officer. Maybe there is some deep meaning that I am missing about why I want to be in the military and be a police officer. Maybe it has more to do with belonging and being a part of a group of guys who stick up for each other.

I don't even know what you are talking about. Your grammar is so bad (yet you have a 3.7GPA

) that your points are becoming difficult to understand.

Once again, I don't know what you are talking about. Next time make sure we know exactly who and what you are quoting.
I don't care about your personal message inbox. It's personal for a reason and I don't give a shit about who is sending you stuff or what they are writing about. If they were intelligent enough they would come out and talk to me face to face. Obviously, they aren't worth my time. But regardless, I am happy that you feel as though you belong here. Congratulations.

I guess they don't teach you that Muslims aren't a race of people at your "top school".

Yes there are Libyan terrorists, there are White/American terrorits, but the majority of terrorist acts are committed by muslims.

I find you a little fucking stupid. I think you're quoting a dictionary, for some reason. And when I was referring to the terrorists in this current war that we are talking about, I was referring to those terrorists who happen to be muslim. And I wasn't referring to all muslims, I was referring to those muslims who chose to be terrorists, which just happens to be the point of this discussion.

Hey! He's not stupid...he has a 3.7GPA at one of the top schools in the country! He probably has a higher IQ than everyone in this discussion combined.

Hehe, i had a 4.0 GPA last semester, and a 3.9 first semester, at the top art school in North America, so thats pretty cool. Why not lets all just post our GPA's and save ourself the time of discussing the actual topic.

I had a 6.0 GPA (I took everything twice because it was so easy) at the best steelworking school in the United States. We studied a wide range of subjects including terrorism, homosexual rights and steel working. Oh yeah, gotta love that steele.

My girlfriend just showed me this, and it's remarkable, because it's just about the same arguments I would make (and have made):

I heard on Fox News this morning that when U.S. forces and Iraqi Police entered the building where the bombing raid was done they found Zarqawi alive. They tried to give him medicial care but he died shortly after they arrived.
Another interesting note is after the raid "information" they found at the bombing site led to 17 immediate raids. They must have found something that raised an eyebrow. Actually, 39 more raids were conducted after the bombing but not all of them were connected with the bombing. Regardless, I think it's safe to say that the bombing campaign was a success and hopefully it led to many other arrests and weapon searches.

I don't like how something like this makes the top news headlines. I shoot you dead and now you're on headline news? Sure, he's dead, but it's nothing to celebrate or bake cookies over. I personally think killing Osama's posse will just infuriate others and this so-called war will just get worse.

He's one of the top Al-Queda leaders and he has thousands and thousands of innocent people's blood on his hands. He has been behind tons of beheadings.
I know some people think this won't help and it might not but it certainly is a start. It takes an incredible person to lead and have the charisma to be a great leader and one thing is for sure: Zarqawi was a great leader. The next person to steps up the plate probably won't be as strong of a leader as he was. Because once again, it takes quite the person to motivate thousands (but then again, they seem to have a lot of motivation these days).

You had a 4.0 GPA and you didn't know that Frank Lloyd Wright was the architect for the Guggenheim Museum?
Sat Jun 10, 2006 6:20 am
Why did I always connect Frank Gehry with the Guggenheim Museum?
