That made me imagine what if cricket players took steroids like baseball players did. A cricket player with the physique of Barry Bonds, if that day ever comes I don't know whether I would be shocked or laugh at it. I prefer laughing at it.

Some argue this year's team is better than last year's team...the acquisition of Thome helped , surprising he's not on the DL yet , but as long as he's healthy and hitting home runs , (Y)

i'd be both surprised and extremely pissed if they didn't even make the playoffs...

Guillen said that Thome won't be used @1st base unless in an emergency situation so that should keep him fresh

they are back in 1st so it's all good

Baseball owns, Laxation.

Minnesota Twins: "We're commin', we're commin'!"

Know anything about James Beresford?

I enjoy baseball because it's still popular in America and is slightly interesting. The beauty of baseball is the variety of ways you can score runs (solo home run , 2-run home run , 3-run home run , etc). Baseball comebacks are interesting too...3-2 pitches and 1-run games in the 9th provide for thrilling action. I admit I rarely watch an entire baseball game from start to finish , and often fall asleep at some point , but as Riot said , it's a fun casual game. Baseball is less boring if you are listening to it on the radio...the TV announcers put me to sleep. (N)

I support Blue Jays and LA Dodgers. Both teams have managed to build a team better than last year so I have pretty high hopes for both of them

Bump...I'm a Tigers fan and it's been hell my whole life. I'm so glad that they are off to such a great start!

And ixcuincle is right, baseball on the radio is much better. I'm listening to it right now.

I saw a Tigers game last year. I don't remember if they won or not, but the park is really nice. Radio>TV until the game gets close, then it's better to watch it.

I sadly haven't been to Comerica yet, but later in the summer i plan to go to at least a couple games. I've been to Tiger Stadium about 5 times and though I like it, It was really a dump. I live about 2 hrs away from Detroit so its just a matter of me getting off my ass and driving down there.

Sun May 28, 2006 2:12 am

I really recomend going to Comerica. (Y)

There are a few ballparks I would like to go to before the Twins build their own in 2010. A few of them would be:

PNC Park (Pittsburgh)

Comerica Park (Detroit)

And then Miller Park (Milwaukee) and maybe the new Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

What, not the Rogers Centre (what a horrible name ...)? :P

THE QUEEN CITY'S GOING ALL THE WAY!

Great start, but slowly they're turning back into the Reds of old...

I know how you feel. Same thing is starting to happen with the Tigers.

big series starting today between the Sox and Tigers. last time they played- the Sox swept them in Detroit's house. Detroit proceeded to go on a tear

Go Sox!

Looking forward to this series. Hopefully the Tigers dont get whooped like the last time they met.

btw, Tigers selected P Andrew Miller 6th overall in the draft. He was projected to be the #1 overall selection!

Hey Gordon, ALEX CINTRON!!! HELL FUCKING YES! THIS IS OUR HOUSE MUTHERFUCKERS!!!

*ahem*

I'm in town to go to this series, I'm lovin it.

You got tickets for any of these three games?

Thu Jun 08, 2006 7:45 am

some crazy stuff. last nite's game was a flashback of last year's team...

did you hear the hawk's call on that play? he's the best. i love the hawk

the bullpen has got to get it together!

nah no tickets for this series. one of my coworkers is a season ticket holder- he never gives up tickets for games against the 'good' teams

I'd go to a Twins game but unless Liriano or Santana is pitching it is pointless.

Kyle Lohse is good at times and you would be lucky to catch one of his good games. Why did they resign them :shake: That was a bad move.

I think he got demoted to AAA. He's most likely on the trade block now. A fresh start could do him good because he has some talent.

Thu Jun 08, 2006 10:13 am

Yeah he has showed promise at times but never really put it all together. He needs to play at a pitchers park such as PETCO.

Thu Jun 08, 2006 10:30 am

Kyle Lohse is a joke and he shouldn't be on a major league team. He has a horrible attitude and he folds when the pressure gets too high. I can't count high enough to tell you how many times he quit on the mound during his career with the Twins. The guy just doesn't care and he is a whiner.

Thu Jun 08, 2006 1:01 pm

Another big win over Detroit.

Huge homer for Thome. We look good, this will be a commanding sweep to take the division lead back tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

Mon Jun 12, 2006 12:46 am

not in 1st but i think it's pretty clear who's the best team in the division after that series

Mon Jun 12, 2006 2:48 am

I went to the Twins game yesterday (I was at the Dome for over 12 hours for the autograph party) and I was treated with seeing Carlos Silva and Kyle Lohse pitch. What a fantastic game! Not only did the pitching suck, but the team left about 15 guys on base! At point in the first inning, they had the bases loaded with no outs and they came away with nothing! Only a team that tries to be that bad can do that.
