NEW players, NEW coach, and most importantly Dallas has become a defensive team. If you put Nash in there you'ld have an unstoppable team. What Dallas didn't have that Nash would now feed off of is a very strong defensive team. You've got to remember that now Dallas has new players (Diop, Howard, Daniels, Stackhouse) and a new coach that weren't around when Nash was and, in my opinion, Nash would flourish in Dallas right now.

ditto. especially the GP part. I think D Wade deserves it too (Y)

At one point, Nash had Dirk, Finley, Antoine Walker and Antawn Jamison to pass to. They never got that far. That was a sick lineup.

Nash would not be effective in Dallas because Dirk has always slowed Nash down.

Nash won 2 mvp's because of D'Antoni's offense.

i dont want the mavs to win, cose of cubans smack talk about SA.
SAME with shaq who likes to boast on tv, gp talks alot, and mournin for walkin out on the raptors after bein traded.

I don't really care that much who wins it. I like most of Dallas' players and on the Heat I like Wade and Jason Williams. Not a big Walker or GP fan at all.

I actually think that Mavs are better off without nash. Sure he would make shots easier for other players, but Jason Terry can score as well as Nash. Terry brings D to the PG/SG spot that Nash wouldnt be able to, and Terry will be able to cover Wade as long as he doesnt get in foul trouble, because you know D.Wade gets those touch calls. I still think Miami wins.

Well, now they are in different teams, so the particularities of their playing style are worlds appart, but...

They are close friends in real life and from what I read competitiveness in the entertainment world won't ruin that friendship

Nowitzki keeps visiting Nash family from time to time on summer holidays (I did read that in a interview -NBA.com-)

Sometimes they go on a pub crawl too (thx for the pics, ProSurfer):

Who the hell is the fat dude?

The fat dude is probably the owner of the bar.
The pair is so close that they ate dinner together during off days of the conference finals.
"In Phoenix, I buy, and in Dallas, he buys," Nash said. "Shoot, I paid for him the first four years of his career, so he does owe me a couple [of dinners]."
The only stipulation during those dinner outings was that basketball wasn't to be discussed.

Nash buys Dirk dinner for 4 years, Dirk is a cheapskate. :)

exactly, which is why i will always say that the pistons can get off the hook for drafting darko and not carmelo (honestly no chance they ever would have took wade). they took the title so all is well.

they aren't off the hook, if they drafted carmelo or wade it would be the tittle every year, including this year

i dont believe this to be true imo. sure they could have had an amazing team but they never would have drafted wade anyway. if anyone it would have been carmelo and i am not convinced that by adding carmelo they are instantly the best team in the league hands down.

Terrible logic. You said it yourself, Dallas has NEW players; Defensive-minded players. If Nash was still in Dallas, they would'nt be a good defensive team. They would still be a high-scoring, fast-tempo style of team.

Have you seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Depp version?) It's the short, fat German kid all grown up.

Or he might just be a friend of Dirk's... or a fan who wanted a photo with him

^LOL, and oh about Steve Nash, when he was in Dallas he was hardly noticed
from anyone and all of us knows that, i beileve his rating in 2003 was 81
and now in 06 hes like a 89, so I say yeah he didnt make a difference then
but now that he's elevated if was to still be in Dallas he would definatly be
a key component to a automatic win like what underestic said. And what i mean
about Steve Nash not being noticed is that he was overshadowed. (not that
he was wack lol)

Tue Jun 06, 2006 7:13 pm

Using player ratings in NBA Live isn't a good way to support your opinion regarding the real NBA.

Obviously.
I dont recall saying/implying that offense was the problem when Nash was there.

Thu Jun 08, 2006 8:28 am

funny! what more funny though...

Nash was effective in Dallas. Dirk supposedly always slowed down Nash but Dallas was still leading the league in points scored

Thu Jun 08, 2006 4:03 pm

What the hell are you on about?

I was talking about Nash and comparing Nash on Phoenix and Dallas. Obviously, mentioning Nash winning 2 mvp's meant that i was talking about Nash and in which team he was more effective in.

Why would anyone even think i was implying that Dallas had a problem with their offense? After mentioning the names of Antawn Jamison, Antoine Walker and Dirk Nowitski being together on one team, why would anyone even consider i was talking about problems in dallas' offense? Now that's funny.
