yeah I guess that would happen in most cases. It was an idea that I came up with because I'm not that great with Photoshop yet and I felt it was a good way to learn, but I'm ok with going solo (Y).

I'll join.

Andreas, i doubt you'd have to do much brushing in this comp.. imo it would be more about your creativity and how you execute it.

Ck,

Either way, brushes are for the weak. Most of my work is made with filters and one soft-tipped round brush.

I wouldn't put me on any official list, but I'll do what I can when I can.

Sat May 20, 2006 12:19 pm

I'll give it a shot as well.

Sat May 20, 2006 12:43 pm

Ill try it. Put me in there.

Sat May 20, 2006 7:14 pm

When will it start? (Y)

Sat May 20, 2006 9:35 pm

Yea, alright, count me in.. (y) Don't expect anything good tho..

I'm going to leave sign ups until the end of next week..

Whats a good month to start of? and i still need suggestions on the format im getting mixed posts and i want a format that everyone should be able to adjust to, so we have a better chance of getting (decent) entries.

After adding Dee Rip and nba balla to the list that gives us a total of twenty members for the competition - should we close the sign ups now or keep them going?

Tue May 23, 2006 6:03 am

lol, 20 members ...
We won't have any judges, because everybody will vote for itself

I can be a judge

Jesus Sox, we get you want to judge. Give it a rest already.

Entries are closed.

The competition format will work like this. It will be like a knockout tourney and we split up the 20 into 2 groups of 10 people. The best 6 entries as voted by the judges panel move on to next week, then the best 3 entries move on from there. And so forth. Does everyone agree on this type of format?

As for the voting, if you do not submit an entry then you'll simply not be in the comp

I'll setup a judging thread for the judges to vote on each entries. Which should be pmed to me by a running deadline which will work as you get your entries in as you can.
The 3 judges in the panel will vote for which entries they like the most in their opinion and then those entries move on, we'll also have a public vote on the remaining entries so two get in the next round as wildcards.

An example.

If,

Jae
Cyanide
Colin
The Black Death
Cable Guy
Axel

Have the best entries as voted by the judges, they move on to round two as well as the other 6 in the other group of 10.

All the others are eliminated from the tourney, then we'll have a public vote from eveyone to vote on two more entries that weren't voted by the judges that round that will go on as wildcards.

Phew, enough explaining how do you guys like it?
if anyone disagrees on the format, then give me some ideas in detail.

i dont particularly like the idea of a knockout.....mainly cause i'll most probably get knocked out in the first round. but anyway...

same here :D

I favor the knockout idea. It'll keep people not wanting to quit if they keep losing and keep it competitive as people move up the ladder.

To clarify, each judge vote on their "top 6," correct?

How long between deadlines, and when is your projected start date for the comp, as well as your preferred format sizes (or is that entirely up to us?)

I'm also going to give the thumbs up for the knockout format. I think it'd put pressure on everyone to do their absolute best and it'd make for some good competition.

I don't know... I think if it's knockout, we need a good, diverse group of judges.
