A Never-flat going flat?

Tue May 02, 2006 10:35 am

Hey guys. I recently got a Spalding neverflat under the impression that it'll take a year before it goes flat. Three weeks later, after leaving it in my school locker for a week or so, it seemed to have lost much of its air. it's not punctured or anything and the temperature at my school is definately not considered cold temperatures. :?

anyone know anything about this ball or why it happened? :P

thanks!

Omg...did u really believe all thouse stupid commercials? I think a usual ball will stay for more w/o being flat than this neverflat!

There's nothing they can put in a basketball to keep air particles from escaping... they're microscopic!

They said it would last 'ten times longer'.

What they meant was that it cost 'ten times more'.

It is a rip-off.

Get those balls that have the pumps in them, they might take a while to pump but its better to bring a pump everywhere you go.

Just pump it up for fuck's sake. :? Problem solved.

Infusion

Infusions suck really, I've played with them and it takes way too long before the 'break-in', you know become a little softer/lose the new-ness. :?

a never flat going flat?

I've had 2 Infusions, never had that new-ness problem. I did have that with the regular Spalding ball though, I ended up throwing it away.

Infusion rules all. No need to walk with a big fucking pump...just a little patience and pump ur ball while you're walking down to the court.

Someone reefed open my locker door and stole my brand new infusion when I was 15. It was a beautiful ball :(

I need to pump my ball once every blue moon... it isnt that big of a deal

It isnt like I dont use it much either... I like to go outside and play basketball at least 30min a day, depending on what hw I have...

yeah infusions are great my friend has one.

what's the hole look like? a plastic covering? what's it like when you bounce the ball on that spot?

Thu May 04, 2006 11:43 am

I loved my infusion. Some people always tried to steal it a long time ago.. it got really dirty at some times (and I forgot to clean it up) and one time it got run over by a car (or at least the car tried to run over it) and it still worked like a charm, but eventually it started to lose air at a quicker pace then normal, so now I have normal basketballs.

Basically theres a little circular area for the pump, and u push it in and twist it then u can pull the pump out and pump it.. then you just push the pump back in and twist it to lock it in place. Theres no problems with the ball being oblong or anything like that.

Yeah you don't even notice it's there. The top of the cap is made out of rubber or something so when you bounce it there's no difference. There's some other ball I saw in Rowe and Jarman sports the other day, $190 and I'm very tempted to buy it :x

neat. they should get some for our school... :/

Thu May 04, 2006 1:27 pm

yeah, but i'd guess @ a school everyone would just constantly pump it and it would burst

Thu May 04, 2006 1:54 pm

nah, they do steal the balls though. it's really annoying.

Thu May 04, 2006 2:13 pm

yep and i think this one is about $50 Aus, i'm not sure though

I hated my Infusion. Well... I got so unlucky. The pump (while in) hit right on a rock and I guess that somehow (don't ask me) twisted it out and then the next dribble the pump broke off. Before that it was alright.
