I think they just panicked and simply made blunders a more experienced team would not. They wanted to score that three quickly and rather than taking another few seconds when they couldn't get Gordon the ball on the inbounds, Nocioni fired up the three.

That's not really relevant if there's "superstar treatment" afoot though. Obviously you're not going to get as many foul calls when you take jumpshots more often than pounding it inside but that wouldn't change the fact there's some soft calls made at the other end. You can't expect the same amount of calls but the same calls are meant to be made in the same situations at both ends.

That said, I don't think the officiating was that bad either way and the Bulls got some breaks too. They didn't get screwed by the referees, they just blew the lead once they captured it and couldn't capitalise on opportunities in the last couple of minutes. They played a good game but made some costly errors in crunch time against a superior team.

Somehow I don't think it will come to that, I myself expect the Heat will prevail because the Bulls aren't at a level where an upset is all that likely just yet. Of course, I'd love to see it happen anyway but I don't like their chances.

Frustrated by what he thought should've been a foul, he took out his mouthpiece and threw it at Joey Crawford.

Bulls are a scoring big man away from that...never the less they do a great job of freeing themselves up for shots, and Gordon is insane with the 3's.

Sun Apr 23, 2006 9:51 pm

Agreed, though the lack of height alone is a handicap, scoring or otherwise. Even if they can pick up someone like Nazr Mohammed in the offseason without spending too much money, I think that will help a little bit. It won't be the answer to all their problems but it does give them a bit more size and a decent player to go along with it. As far as acquiring someone better than that, I don't think they need to get someone to be their go-to guy since Gordon is looking more like being that player. But someone more polished offensively than Chandler as well as being capable of asserting himself in the paint at both ends would be fantastic.

Sun Apr 23, 2006 9:59 pm

The Bulls just need another player like Gordon and they will be atleast in the top 8 in no time.

Sun Apr 23, 2006 11:02 pm

Why do they need two Gordons? Like iits been mentioned, they need a big man... Othella Harrington is not enough

Sun Apr 23, 2006 11:46 pm

Well in my opinion they need another solid guard. Gordon just isn't enough. In the upcoming draft they need to get a great big man and in the off season they need ti get a guard and they will be a great team.

Sun Apr 23, 2006 11:56 pm

Errors in the game aside, I'd say with Gordon, Hinrich and Duhon they're already developing a solid (albeit small) backcourt rotation. Perhaps a big guard would help but the frontcourt looks a lot weaker.

Mon Apr 24, 2006 1:47 am

Nocioni's stat line is starting to be ridiculous, same with Gordon.
As for Diesel's performance, Shaq is back (to his old self).

Mon Apr 24, 2006 1:50 am

Bulls are better than most East teams @ PG, SG & SF....where they lack is the big guys....Malik Allen is a nice role player, if he's going to start then he HAS to be your weakest link....same with Sweetney & Harrington.

Mohammed would help....he can block a shot, is a good rebounder and can score in the post....plus he's a good defender in the post.

Shit, we lost. Well, we made a statement that this series is not gonna be a coaster for them. We'll get 'em on Monday.

Come on... just cause the Bulls are jump shooting pussies doesn't mean that they cant get the same calls if they took it to the basket.

Did you watch the game? Anway, if you watched the Bulls all year, Hinrich gets absolutely no respect going to the basket anyway. There was a hook by Shaq, Sweetney didn't TOUCH him, Shaq missed it badly, and they called a foul on Sweetney. Also, Wade pushed off THREE times on one possesion on Hinrich, they don't call it. Among other things, this was a terribly officiated game in total in my opinion.

If they can pry him away from San Antonio, I just hope they don't overpay him.

great game, i would've liked the Bulls to win but it was good either way-heres hoping the series continues this way :D

What is too much money? The MLE?

For some reason a lot of big FA's have been linked to playing with the Bulls next year. Then again, there gonna have 20 million in cap space.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 12:00 am

MLE is too much....3 mill not more. Mohammed should be a band-aid to the Bulls @ C...not the future.

Tue Apr 25, 2006 8:26 am

duh.. 3 mil will not be enough to pry him away from the Spurs. the Spurs have the right to match any offer
(damn i shouldn't be replying to that guy in the 1st place lol)

shadow or whatever you're calling yourself now- i'm not sure if shaq's necessarily back- i think the Bulls just don't have anyone to 'limit' him. Sweetney has the bulk but Shaq can just shoot over him. Chandler has the height but the Fatman can just run him over every time

pretty interesting tactic to see the Bulls defense focus more on help side for Wade instead of doubling on Shaq

He's an unrestricted free agent...unless you simply mean the Spurs can counter with a better offer, which they probably would if the Bulls offered $3mil.

Wed Apr 26, 2006 7:59 am

um yeh haha, something like that. they're going to have to slightly overpay to get this guy, especially if he has a decent postseason

Wed Apr 26, 2006 11:49 am

That mightn't be too bad depending on what "slightly" means to the Bulls. If it's anywhere in Chandler territory, perhaps they should look elsewhere. ;)

Thu Apr 27, 2006 10:07 am

Hey, how come noone is talking about Ben breaking wade's ankles? Dude made him fell on the floor. Its usaullly the other way around

Thu Apr 27, 2006 12:00 pm

I would, but I didn't get to see Game 2. :(

Fri Apr 28, 2006 12:39 pm

That flagrant was the right call on Posey, but now another two technicals in a row, one on walker, and then haslem? wow, just wow.
