NY @ GS (108-100) W
Most of what analysts predicted came to pass. Mek & Curry dominated downlow both combining for 31pts, 16reb & 3blk. GS had very little and in some cases no inside presence limiting Foyle & Murphy to 12pts, 19reb & 3blk. Q-Rich shot the lights out with a FG percentage of .500 and a 3pt percentage of .666. He also pulled down 16reb. Francis had an off night with 2pts and 2ast which has Larry Brown pondering if to keep him in the starting lineup or have him get minutes off the bench. Robinson passed the ball alot more in this game with 7ast to the delight of the GM and Brown who wants Robinson leaning towards a pass first game and shoot when neccessary. Crawford was very effective off the bench coming away with 14pts and dished out 5ast. The Knicks held the lead in all four quarters of play which is an encouraging sign. They out rebounded the Warriors and fed off 14 turnovers but sadly turned the ball over 13 times. The Knicks are now on a three game winning streak and will look to extend that streak when they face the Memphis Grizzlies.
Key NY players
Q. Richardson: 39pts & 16reb
E. Curry: 21pts & 8reb
J. Crawford: 14pts & 5ast
N. Robinson: 12pts, 7ast & 2reb
E. Okafor: 10pts, 8reb, 2ast, 2stl & 2blk
Bench: 24pts, 8reb, 6ast & 3blk
The warriors fell like a ton of bricks from start to finish. The Knicks finished all quarters with the lead and never looked back. As predicted the Warriors had a very little inside presence and got most of their scoring done from J-Rich, B-Diddy & Dunleavy. They all combined for 74pts & 18ast. This was not enough to hold the Knicks who pulled away with the win and left the warriors with five losses and one win. The Warriors should look to strengthen their inside presence by starting Diogu next to Murphy or even Biedrins who should look to secure the C position later in his career. Pietrus pulled away with 10pts off the bench which was the only bright spot off the bench.
Key GS Players
J. Richardson: 30pts, 10reb, 4ast & 3stl
M. Dunleavy: 25pts, 6ast, 3reb & 2stl
B. Davis: 19pts, 8ast & 2stl
M. Pietrus: 10pts
Bench: 14pts, 6reb & 2blk
(Below I'll post the report from the scout. I'll post details of players the team may look to draft and nothing more. Please put down comments if you'll like to see more.)
Scouting Report
(Note: The Scout goes to different regions of the world in search of talent for the Knicks. He will only look at players who have potential i.e. excellent or good. The Knicks will draft depending on our needs which will range from filling voids in our roaster or drafting possible trade bait.)
After the first trip, Blake Forth has seen four players out of the five that he viewed that stand out. They include a C, SF and two PGs.
Region(s): Pacific Northwest & Atlantic Northeast
Name: Marty Gartner
Position: PG
Age: 23yrs
Height: 5'11''
Weight: 192lbs
Potential: Excellent
Projected: 5th Overall
Scout's Analysis: He has alot of potential. He does not appear to be a shoot first PG and may develope to a passing PG. Teams looking for such a guard will look in his direction when drafting time comes. The Knicks will be looking to increase their depth in all positions and depending on where we land in the draft may consider getting him.
Name: Anthony Chen
Position: C
Age: 21yrs
Height: 6'11''
Weight: 287lbs
Potential: Good
Projected: Late 1st Round
Scout's Analysis: Anthony has the potential to become a power superstar. He rates highly in his dunking, strength & hardiness all of which are good makings of a power superstar. A team such as the Warriors should look to draft him for they will need such a presence in the inside. He is also in the Knicks radar and depending on what happens the Knicks may look to draft him due to his potential.
Name: Otto Hendrix
Position: PG
Age: 22yrs
Height: 6'0''
Weight: 202lbs
Potential: Good
Projected: Top 15
Scout's Analysis: Otto is purely an offensive PG. He'll be usefull to teams looking to score from the outside and with good coaching will develope to a shooter or an outside scorer. A team like LAL may look to him if Smush Parker does not give Kobe the help he needs in the back court. The Knicks will also look in his direction if he comes our way.
Kendall Workman
Position: SF
Age: 23yrs
Height: 6'7''
Weight: 235lbs
Potential: Good
Projected: Late 1st Round
Kendall is an offensive SF and will help any team who drafts him with scoring when needed. He has good hieght and weight and may pose problems defensively to his opponents. Steady coaching will develope this young gun to a shooter.
