Yeah it's potential edge-of-your-seat stuff for fans of each club. To be honest, when the Bulls fell to 29-39, I figured the window for this year had closed. Naturally I'll be disappointed if they do end up missing the playoffs but at least they will have had a chance right up until the end.

Is the moment of truth. Pilli won and the Bulls have to win tonight.

Edited: eveytime the Bulls play the Nets, Hinirich breaks out a career high of some sort, and he if off to a great start

Bulls win, we are back on eight seat, but why does a part of me feels sickening?

Gordan was at it again in the 4th.

I don't know what to be more impressed by: the win over a superior team, getting back into 8th place with the conference record tiebreaker or the fact they managed to hold onto a lead once they went up 79-77. In any event, great that all three of those things came to be.

Huge fourth quarter for Gordon, and a new career high for free throw made and attempted. Seventh straight double-double for Nocioni too. (Y)

Go Bulls. It was a personal game in the ATL tonight. Childress got ejected. A fight almost break out. Playoff atmosphere was in the air. But we fought hard and fought back. If both Nets and Bulls were to lose tonight, you guys can bet you will hear a suicide report on the news tonight

Well, for Bulls and Sixers fans, it's coming down to the wire... for the fans: hows it feel for the bulls to be so close to that eight seed? Is it dissapointing when compared to last season?

It's a bit disappointing but considering they looked like being out of it ten games ago, it's a much better finish than it could've been. No matter what happens.

Timely win over the Hawks, seeing as how the Sixers destroyed the Nets. The next one will be televised live here on Saturday. You can be sure I'll be watching that one. (Y)

He tied the record now. Nocioni was getting pwned in every Wizards dunk, but Jeffries made a horrible mistake at the end and the Bulls have won. Philly lost so... :(

Gordon is 9/9 from the arc.....is that a record?

Awesome performance by Gordon, the eventual game winning shot and those two big threes in the run to go up 90-87 late. When they started to stumble in the final two minutes I got worried because we've seen that happen so many times before. I know there'll be talk of the charge and how Nocioni could be called for a a blocking foul, but I think the elbow sealed the decision. Perhaps also a makeup call for Brendan Haywood barrelling down the lane and dropping the shoulder into Chandler and getting the blocking foul call.

In any event, a bit of elbow room for the moment. Who knows what will happen over the final three games. Both the Bulls and the Sixers play the Magic, which earlier seemed like a break in the schedule but is now completely unpredictable. Same goes for the Sixers' game against New Jersey.

Still looks like a final game decision.

Just unconcious. BG went 9-9. That Nocioni charge was blocking, but he got away with it. And with Philly's loss to Miami, Chicago is almost at the light at the end of the tunnel. Sadly, there, Detroit awaits in the first round.

Even with the sweep likely if they get there, I'd rather they get the playoff experience.

When did that happen? The only time in the playoffs a 1st seed will play the 7th seed would be in the conference finals... and I don't remember Nuggets getting to the finals that long ago... I imagine you might of meant the 8th seed.

I'm sure beau_boy did indeed mean the 8th seed.

Somehow, I think that's wishful thinking for whomever faces the Pistons in the first round. Denver was in better shape than any of the teams who could end up in that 8th spot and Seattle was a young team that was very talented but had a knack of self-destructing. I know, the "true fan" is supposed to always hope but I guess I'm too much of a realist. It's an extremely tall order.

a few questionable charge calls in the game, but Bulls deserved to win. Gordon was insane......Pistons gotta close out on him. Personally i'd rather play Philly, Bulls, even though they lost 4-0 to Detroit are tough. Still, who knows who'll play who.

Ignoring the bit about the Bulls being idle (since they could just mean they're not playing today), here's a fine example of NBA.com's stats and facts checking from the Sixers/Magic recap:

NBA.com wrote:ORLANDO, Fla., April 15 (Ticker) -- Dwight Howard authored a gigantic performance in the biggest game of his young career.

Howard had 28 points and career-high 26 rebounds as the Orlando Magic kept alive their slim playoff hopes with a 102-97 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, whose postseason aspirations took another hit.

Hedo Turkoglu added 23 points and Jameer Nelson 21 for Orlando (36-44), which extended its winning streak to a season-high eight games while pulling within 2 1/2 games of idle Chicago for the Eastern Conference's final playoff berth.

Orlando has two games left, but would win a tiebreaker if its finishes tied with Chicago.

Funny, because the Bulls currently lead the season series 2-1 and should they lose the next one to Orlando making it 2-2, the second tiebreaker - conference record - is firmly in Chicago's grasp (27-22 compared to 24-26). Nicely researched, there.

Oh well. I'd rather have seen Magic lose to Detroit than Chicago lose to Detroit.

With seeds 5-8 on the verge of being all tied up and Chicago holding tiebreakers over those three teams, they might even be able to avoid Detroit should they hold on and make the playoffs.
