What are you studying by the way? That could help guide where it is best to go.

um my major at UC Irvine is Studio art and my minor is digtal art but there arent any summer programs that teach art.... so I guess it'll be more of a "cultural studies" thing.

Tell me about it. I'm one of those who were probably on the front line during the "Korean invasion". Initially they traveled in groups and dwell in gaming shops playing Starcraft and other online games (I soon found out that online gaming is big in S. Korea). Now they are just everywhere. Not complaining folks just ranting, Koreans are good people to be friends with.

lol there's no way in hell I'd ever join the military... I hate it how the gov't makes poor people (like me) think that the only way to afford college is by joining the Army or something. nooo way I would risk my life while all the spoiled rich white kids are safe and sound at home.
btw, the government is giving me $13,000 in grants (for free) this year to help pay for school. yes kids, you too can afford college.

well, I have made up my mind and that's why I chose not to join up and I chose to get my education the way I wanted to. but they do prey on others that don't know they have other opportunities.

Well, to be fair some people don't have any other opportunities. If you don't have anything else to fall back on the military would be a GREAT choice. It's a great choice even if you have other opportunities.

Why do people bag on the military for taking poor kids? Those poor kids are off the streets stealing, doing drugs and other illegal activities and they are doing something with their life. When they come out of the military they will have the work ethic, money for college and the benefit of having the military on your resume for jobs. The military is really doing them a service and all they get is bagged on for doing it. They aren't forcing the kids to sign the contract.
