We had a thread like this before in which I said "Nintendo Revolution", which I will say again and everyone proceeded to flame. So please someone lock this.

However, between those two, I would choose PS3.

Wed Apr 05, 2006 4:21 pm

how about posting a link to the old thread then

Thu Apr 06, 2006 8:57 pm

The Revolution is the way to go.

Thu Apr 06, 2006 9:12 pm

i love the idea of the controller for the revolution... but its poorly done

Thu Apr 06, 2006 9:31 pm

the remote thing can plug into a bigger controller though cant it?

Thu Apr 06, 2006 9:36 pm

Yes it has the ability to do that.

When Nba Live 2007 comes out ps2 and ps3 will be able to play it,
so that's automatically a plus, Playstaion is the originators of the online thing
Bill Gates is just an A-hole, Xbox might as well be a computer, And PS3 is and Game Console no need for hard drives and internet and all that mumbo jumbo,

Mon Apr 10, 2006 5:19 pm

the 360 (Y) PS3 i assume will be PS2 with better graphics (the 360 may be too) but PS3 is a while away and if i had money to throw at video games i'd go the 360 (Y)
i've never really liked the Playstation anyway

360 and NRev are the ones for me...360 for smackdown vs raw and rev for metroid prime 3.

Tue Apr 11, 2006 12:49 am

ps3 will be better with the blueray allowing more data stored (atleast 25gb) unlike 360 which is still 4.7gb, allowing for games like live to still feature all-star weekend, dynasty etc without running out of disc space. Plus with the hardware inside ps3 should blow 360 out the window.

Tue Apr 11, 2006 12:59 am

maybe there will actually be an good NBA live series to begin in ps3.. hopefully EA can put all the ideas out there...25gig should be enough space...looking forward to live 2008 already

Yes, enough space for graphical enhancements like interactive sweat, realistic looking PDA, real time reflective backboards and courts, realistic textured ball, eye-candy interface, more animation for the FSS moves, etc.
With all the added graphic enhancements there will be no more space for improving gameplay and dynasty mode. :P

I always buy each system because they all have trademark games. I want the revolution because nintendo are known for resident evil, and Mario. I have a 360 because of games like halo and Nights of the old Republic. And Playstation 3 because of Metal Gear Solid. They all have something special. Btw what game are you playing for the 360. I mostly play G.R.A.W, and 2K6.

I'm playing Madden and call of duty 2, but thinking about getting nba 2k6. is it any good?

yo matthew, I just got the madden for 360... is there a challenge option in that game???because i have never seen it..Shame on you guys.. you guys dont have live for 360...I think really think ea rushed their games for 360... a lot of options are missing....both madden and live..but im pretty damn sure ea's 2007 games will be a lot different.. 2006's are probably only like a teaser..

I am definitely gonna get a Next Gen console, but can't decide....I might sit it out & wait until PS3 is released, but I seem to be leaning towards the XBox360....

maybe you guys can help me out....

I would obviously like to get the best console, but it's kind of like a cost vs benefit exercise for me....you see, I'm just a casual gamer these days & I mostly just play sports titles, with the occasional RPG or other sort of game thrown in...by the time PS3 comes out, it will probably be about $700-$850 AUD depending on what version I would get....at the moment the XBox360 is $600-650 AUD....I'd say by end of year XBox360 should be around $550 AUD....I can probably trade in PS2 & games & get it for about $300 AUD at that time....possibly....I don't really care about games like Halo or GTA or most of the big titles so that doesn't need to be factored into my decision....on-line play isn't a huge consideration....

can someone give me a quick rundown on the pros & cons of each one....I hear PS3 has blue-ray or something, but I don't know if it will help, sounds like it won't from what most people say....I don't have HDTV....I also need one so I can have a DVD Player when I move to a new place next year....

- Would there be much difference in quality of graphics between PS3 & XBox360 for sporting titles? There was quite a big gap between XBox & PS2 & I don't want to have that problem again....also, anyone know if XBox360 can be modded so I can play US games like the college bball games?!?

cheers for anyone who can take some time & show me the light

Well, I am going for the PS3 since I've been a big fan of the playstation when it first came out.

I would say the PS3 has better graphics and is better overall by a bit, but the price is higher aswell.

In the Official PS3 Thread there is a list of some features.

I, myself like the fact that you can use your PSP as a controller so If you break or damage one of your controllers you won't have to buy another one if you already have a PSP.

Another feature that is also cool is the improved online system which allows you download all the demos and content you want.

It is a tough decision on the price factor, but I would go for the PS3.

Hope this helped (Y), at least abit. :P

PS3 is obviously more powerful, but its also obviously more expensive, lol

K-Mart? You're kidding, right? K-Mart just went bankrupt a couple years ago and was recently bought out by Sears.

Sat May 20, 2006 2:43 pm

not K-Mart in australia

Sat May 20, 2006 3:43 pm

I am probably going to go for Nintendo Revolution and maybe Xbox 360...MAYBE..The PS3 price is just too ridiculous. As even the man behind XBox said, people are going to buy 2 consoles, the Xbox and the Wii (Revolution)...for the price of a PS3.

PS3 PS3 PS3 PS3 PS3

1. PS3 showe nothing to convince us that it will have better graphics than 360. Quite contrary, most of the gameplay they showed is very dissapointing.

2. PS3 will cost twice as much as 360.

3. DVDs aren't and won't be used to its fullest with either PS3 or X-Box, so PS3 using blue ray is not really that big of an advantage.

IMO, people leaning towards PS3 is just a thing of tradition, not because of the the actual difference in price/quality between the two. I'm not a fan of either two, nor am I willing to spend hundreds of bucks to buy any of them, but I still say 360 is the better choice. With MS kindapping Peter Molyneux and likes, their system is going to get more and more of its own exclusive franchises and you better be sure that some of PS's own will be also made for X-Box, but not vice versa.

Sat May 20, 2006 8:25 pm

You suck Vank (Y)

PS3 will rock !!

If the Xbox 360 was better, I would buy it, but It isn't so I'm going for the PS3. :D

Hmm, so you want a system JUST for sports titles? I'd say go the 360 becuase its out now, and is significantly cheaper than the ps3. EA and 2k produce games for each generation, but like the previous generation, there wasnt any significant variations between the two consoles.

I'd suggest the xbox becuase its cheaper, better online play and its available now. What else could you want?

Sun May 21, 2006 1:04 pm

Matthew, I'll obviously play other titles on it....but due to time restraints I'll probably end up playing mostly sporting titles....I'll naturally pick up other multi-player titles to play with friends & family & some games for my nephew to play, but I'm not aligned to any of the major games (Halo, GTA, etc)....if they had NBA2k series or PC & I had a newer PC (my PC is 3 years old), I wouldn't worry about getting one at this stage....I also need a new DVD player, so may as well not get one & just get a next-gen console....my only quandry now is whether to buy it now or hold out till later in the year....we'll see aye....but I'm definitely leaning towards xbox360....

The X wrote:but due to time restraints

You've been watching espn too much .

If it's anything to go by, the xbox had more fun simple and random games (like outrun 2) than the ps2. Games like GTA came out of the ps2 first, but lso got a relelase on the xbox later. You also had games like Halo which were xbox only (but also saw a 2 year delay on the pc release).

If you need a dvd player, the 360 does have that. But be carefull, it does have region coding, so if you have nba dvd's from overseas, they may not work.

If you do decide to wait say 3 months, you might even be able to pick up one second hand in the trading post for $500. Thats purely specualtion of course, but it could happen.

I'm assuming your nephew is fairly young? If he is he'll probably love some of the simplier games on xbox marketplace. Last night i downloaded and play UNO and you can even play that against 3 other players. Tell me that isnt cool :proud:.
