I'm not a fan of putting titles on the Spirit Squad because I'm still not sold on the gimmick (which they don't necessarily play well or convincingly, though they do have the in-ring skills), but getting the belts off Big Show and Kane isn't a bad idea per se. Tag teams with dominant singles wrestlers should only hold the belts for so long, though dropping them to Carlito and Masters would've been way better.

i watched a rerun of raw last night and the spirit's squad promo/cheer was hilarious. i don't know how the hell they put THAT MUCH energy on promos, but i loved it. they were pretty annoying, but it worked. carlito got a big pop too when he turned on the masterpiece, which has been a long time coming.

what's with all the DX shenanigance the last couple of days, with the crotch chops, and references? hmm..

Thu Apr 06, 2006 3:08 am

HBK gonna bring back DX and take on Vinny Mac. (Y)

Thu Apr 06, 2006 3:19 am

Something tells me if that's gonna happen, it's gonna flop big time just like what happened to nWo.

Thu Apr 06, 2006 5:13 am

yeah, DX was great but i don't want to see a reincarnation. there's something wrong with 40 year old dudes running around telling people to suck it. i would like him to form a heel stable, but not anything remotely close to DX.

speaking of flopping, anyone remember nash's knee giving out on him? pure comedy

Thu Apr 06, 2006 6:33 am

NWO had 3 over the hill guys

HBK can still be decent specially if hes feuding with the Vince and Shane
im saying use DX if it happens with some Fresh Faces or Young stars needing a push. no way will HBK bring back DX with HHH or any of the past members. 8-)

Thu Apr 06, 2006 12:11 pm

Even with nostalgia, I don't know if I like that idea. Part of the problem with the creative team is that they're re-hashing ideas and bringing back DX certainly wouldn't remedy that problem.

Thu Apr 06, 2006 1:00 pm

well, shawn michaels has said previously that he wouldnt do DX again, with the whoe born-again christian stuff.

Thu Apr 06, 2006 1:12 pm

well having GOD on his side at the next ppv isnt going to help him much. it be funny if he actually won and Vince goes crazy and blames God for helping HBK again. lol 8-)

Thu Apr 06, 2006 1:26 pm

The whole God angle doesn't offend me but it is another one they don't really need to be doing. I understand the need for controversy but it's a very heavy-handed and tired way of making the storyline controversial. And the whole thing is pretty much a re-hash of the Austin/McMahon feud from 1998-1999, which funnily enough was re-hashed not all that long ago with Bischoff and Cena.

Anyone know why Orton's been suspended yet? I heard that a Diva might've been involved.

Thu Apr 06, 2006 1:58 pm

unprofessional conduct is the word. he is still on smackdown tomorrow though. initial theory on another forum was that he failed a drug test.

Thu Apr 06, 2006 3:09 pm

I knew the unprofessional conduct thingie. Seems like no one knows what it is specifically. It might be a work though or he might've done something similar to the shit in a bag thing he did to one Diva before. Was it Amy Weber?

Fri Apr 07, 2006 7:24 pm

Woohoo! King of the Ring's back! I still don't get why the Smackdown main event was the Taker-Henry match when there was a WH title defense which was the third to the last match before the Regal-Burchill match.

Fri Apr 07, 2006 8:41 pm

yeah, the mysterio-orton match was great. kendrick-london/mnm was kickass....hopefully we see those two with the tag titles sometime, they've been having matches with mnm for a couple of weeks now....that dropsault/moonsault combo by london was pure awesomeness.

Fri Apr 07, 2006 9:15 pm

Rajah's is reporting that it's looking like it was in fact a violation of the anti-drug policy.

You know, the Pirate Paul gimmick is kind of growing on me, it's probably the best comedy gimmick/storyline in a while. Fortunately that don't have him actually believing he's a pirate, just that he finds it fun. Pro wrestling's kind of gone beyond those gimmicks (for the most part). It also helps he's good in the ring, a failing that makes the Boogeyman's push so disappointing.

EDIT: Found this, had to share it.

uh....oookay.

Fri Apr 07, 2006 9:37 pm

It's a reference to the rumoured Amy Weber incident. Probably should've mentioned that as well.

Anyway, I've now also read that it's supposedly because he's catching a lot of heat right now because of his attitude towards his standing in the company and other WWE employees both wrestlers/on-camera talent and others, especially women. So who knows.

Fri Apr 07, 2006 10:28 pm

amy weber incident?

Fri Apr 07, 2006 10:39 pm

Didn't she turn him down, so he shit in her handbag

Fri Apr 07, 2006 11:52 pm

She was subject to a lot of ribbing (which ultimately led her to quit), apparently Randy Orton dumped lotions in her athletic bag. Somehow the rumour came about that he'd taken a shit in there though that has since been confirmed to be untrue.

Sat Apr 08, 2006 12:29 am

I loved the dropsault thingie as well. Sucks that they don't let London do the London Calling anymore. That's his version of the Shooting Star Press. They don't even let him do the 450 Splash as well.

Forgot to add thay Dalip also made his debut. That guy is friggin huge. probably bigger than show. Fitter at least. I hope this guy doesn't suck.

I'm starting to think that you like anything that involves pirates, Andrew.

Sun Apr 09, 2006 10:57 am

Perhaps. I do have an interest that part of nautical history and Sid Meier's game is one of my all-time favourites. That said, I think he'll find more success once he's past that gimmick.

Sun Apr 09, 2006 9:55 pm

I guess it wouldn't be a surprise if you have a pet monkey dressed as a pirate whose name is Patches.

on-topic:
Saw some of Paul London's stuff before his emergence in the WWE.
All I can say is, HOLY SHITE.
