Wow, this comes as sort of a surpirse to me, but a part of me says it doesnt.
I thought he was started to mesh quite well with the Pacers. I wonder how this will affect his relationship with the Pacers guys....

Danny Granger will do a good job replacing him, but Pacers will get pretty fucked over if he leaves.

I don't see why you he would want to do that though. Indiana a top East team when healthy, and could be a contender if they get one more piece. But i suppose money motivates all.

He's not saying he's leaving. He's just opting out to either a) renegotiate his contract earlier, or b) get more money, since he can probably get another 2-3 million on top of what he has.

Oh ok.

If Indy doesn't give him what he wants he would sign with somebody else though wouldn't he?

He'd certainly be free to do so. I'd be surprised if he didn't take more lucrative offer from another team if one came along, unless he feels Indiana is the best place for him to be; it's not as though he has years of loyalty with Indiana to sway his decision.

so in this case the pacers is losing on both ron ron and peja.

wat if he goes back to sign with the kings? just joking.

I think it's more like he'll explore the free-agent market.. which means he'll fuck other teams over by giving them false hope and wait with signing other players because he's available and they need money for him.. and then sign with the same ol' team.

with all the money involve in the nba, where did the team get their money from :?:

Thu Apr 06, 2006 6:00 pm

I can just imagine the criticism if Artest did the same thing

I hope Indiana does a sign and trade with Peja. Why keep a whiny player on the roster.

Ticket sales, sponsorships...

I don't think Peja has been playing all that well in Indiana. Maybe it's the absence of a post player who can score? Maybe he's just not as good as we thought he was? I don't know.

But what I do know is I don't think Indiana should bother offering him too much, all he's doing is taking playing time from Danny Granger.

But maybe Indy would think otherwise, he seems to like Peja in Indiana.

Fri Apr 14, 2006 1:17 pm

He's as good as gone. There's no way Indiana has enough cap space to make him a substancial offer. That Ron Artest trade isn't looking too good right now.

Sat Apr 15, 2006 1:39 am

Peja was the best player Indiana could get, they weren't willing to take a risk on Corey Maggette. The Pacers should be making huge changes in the off-season. I think that Tinsley and Jackson are both gone. JO might be out as well.

Sat Apr 15, 2006 11:03 am

I figured he might do this as soon as i saw the trade go through, shame though really because he could have fitted in pretty well there. Interesting to see where he goes if he does opt out, back to the kings would be funny in "man indiana got dicked in that trade" retrospect, anywhere else is just gonna be cool to watch

JO might be out as well.

Stop smoking them funny cigarettes.

Peja did hint in some articles that he enjoyed playing in Indy. Unless he's lying.
