Nets Send Scott Padgett to Detroit

With the season starting soon the New Jersey Nets wanted to turn their bench around a little by bringing in some defense and scoring. Two year player Maurice Evans is ready to bring all of that and more to New Jersey. Evans has the ability to score effectively inside for a two guard and can also go outside and take the jump shot. His game has been improving significantly over the past few years.

New Jersey Nets 104, Milwaukee Bucks 91

New Jersey Starts the
Season With a Win Over the Bucks

Box Score

left: Vince Carter easily dunks over the Bucks defenders
Center: Michael Redd displays his sharp shooting skills with the three
Right: Vince Carter shows his athleticism with the acrobatic layup

The New Jersey Nets who recently aquired Maurice Evans via trade earlier defeated the Bucks 104-91. The Bucks were unable to start off the quarter the right way by missing contested jumpers and layups. Milwaukee Bucks Shooting Guard Michael Redd shot just 8-25. Redd averaged over 20 points last season including shooting over fourty percent from the three point range. Bobby Simmons showed some signs of life for the Bucks by scoring 27 points while shooting a high percentage 10-18 from the field.

Meanwhile the Nets came out the first quarter attacking the Bucks offensively an defensively. The Nets broke down the Bucks defense which resulted in 29 first quarter points while locking down the Bucks to just 22. New Jersey continued to attack the Bucks going into the second quarter by scoring 31 points. Bucks opened the 2nd half with intensity on both sides of the floor and kept the Nets to just 19 points in the third quarter. But in the fourth quarter it was too much Richard Jefferson who 27 points from 11-18 shooting and tailed 11 rebounds as the Nets got their first win of the season. Nets Center Krstic also had a solid game with 20 points.

The Nets look to take on the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Vince Carter was asked about how he feels about playing against his former team and said, "It's going to be nice to be back in Toronto again, I've spent most of my career there and I look forward to playing against some of my former teamates."

Looks awesome :!:

Nice trade by the way, not a blockbuster, but could certainly improve team. Good job on the win in the season opener. Nice recap and screenshots by the way also. (Y)
