INSIDE THE NBA
E. Johnson: Welcome viewers, I'm Earnie Johnson along with Charles Barkley and Kenny "the Jet" Smith. The season is almost ripe and ready to go. Today we will be discussing the Contenders and Pretenders, but first we'll start off with the NBA Draft.
K. Smith: Why wasn't Mathias Carter drafted number 1? Can someone tell me why?
C. Barkley: ARE YOU STUPID KENNY? I don't understand how he dropped to 7 or 8 or whatever, but Marcus Johnson is by far better. If you loved Ray Allen, this kid is your man. He can shoot, pass, and hell he'll even dunk it on you.
K. Smith: Theres no way he'll be as good as the David Robinson inside of Mathias.
C. Barkley: IF THERE IS A DAVID ROBINSON INSIDE OF HIM, 5-6 TEAMS WOULDN'T HAVE GIVEN HIM UP.
E. Johnson: Good point Charles, on to the trades. How about Miami giving up on Shaq?
C. Barkley: This is a good move by the Heat. They got rid of they're huge contracts and got back Webber (expiring at the end of the season), Marcus Camby (can still play).
K. Smith: I second that. Since Miami lost Dwayne Wade, they got set back into rebuilding mode.
E. Johnson: Lets not forget about Philly who recieved Kenyon Martin and Andre Miller.
K. Smith: PHILY definitely got the best out of this trade. They gave up Chris Webber and a bunch of scrubs for Andre Miller and Kenyon Martin.
C. Barkley: IVERSON TO THE PLAYOFFS!!
E. Johnson: On to the contenders and pretenders.
C. Barkley: Here's my contenders for the Championship: Philly, Toronto, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Cleveland
Pretenders: Detriot, San Antonio, Chicago
K. Smith: My contenders: Toronto, Phily, Chicago, Phoenix, Cleveland, Detriot
Pretenders: Houston, Dallas, San Antonio
E. Johnson: It's interesting how you both said San Antonio.
C. Barkley: THEY TOOO OLD. They can't compete against this young guns. How's Bowen going to defend Iguodala when the second he moves to the left his knees are gone.
K. Smith: I have to agree. When you hit 29-30 everything just goes. You don't have that strong step anymore. You slow down. Theres no way for them to compete.
E. Johnson: Anyways thats all the time we have for today thanks and good bye everybody.
