Another Pacers trade, Pacers welcome Derek Fisher
November 26th, 2005
Indianapolis, IN - The Pacers have made another change to their roster, sending veteran Center Jeff Foster along with Point Guard Eddie Gill to Golden State in exchange for veteran point guard Derek Fisher.
The Pacers felt they needed some NBA experience and talent for the Point guard spot, which is occupied by rookie Sarunas Jasikevicius. Derek Fisher will most likely be sixth man off the bench.

Jeff Foster will serve as a back-up Center behind sophomore Andris Bierdrins and Eddie Gill will help out in the Warriors backcourt if Baron Davis gets injured.
Derek Fisher, "I'm glad that I'm coming to a team which will allow me to reign the court because of the security of Jermaine O'Neal, Drew Gooden and Danny Granger manning the middle."
First Power Rankings of the Season.
November 27th, 2005
Today, on
www.nba.com, the official NBA Power Rankings have been released.
As you can see, Yao Ming and Tracy MacGrady are leading their team to an outstanding start, the best since the Olajuwon days. The Rockets went 12-0 in November, despite T-Mac's injury. David Wesley has contributed well to the team with his shooting.
No surprises seeing Detroit second, the runner-ups had an 11-1 record during the month of November. Indiana have been playing great this month as well, having a stella start as most of their games were on the road but have slipped the last 2 games.
The shock slackers were Seattle as they've been playing terrible after their many offseason player losses. Hurricane strickened Hornets are in last place with only 1 win this year.
This is in bold because Jugs has decided to add a new feature.
I will now be adding Power Rankings to the first page so you guys can have an idea on how well each team is doing. The picture is not totally accurate so thats why i'll be doing an article about it every Sunday(in game).
The month that was November
November 31st, 2005
The first month of the league has FINALLY finished. There have been a few surprises, a few declines and a few consistent performances.
Players of the month were announced and as follows:
West Player of the month
What a surprise, Andrei Kirilenko, who has been battling injuries in the past, has definitely improved his game to another level. Unfortunately, his team record does not show this. He's locked in Utah and seems to like it there, but is the Utah management doing enough to surround Andrei Kirilenko with the correct players?
East Player of the month
After a terrible team start, Vince Carter has helped his team get back to 0.500 and thus being deserving of the East player of the month card. He turned his game around against the Pacers and helped his team shoot themselves back into play-off contention.
West Rookie of the month
The only good thing coming out of the Hornets, Chris Paul has been having a stellar season and is definitely one of the best draftees, maybe second only to the player who received East player of the month.
East Rookie of the month
Fans should be bowing down to Rob Babcock, Joey Graham has been an absolute STEAL in his first month in the NBA. By far the best performing rookie so far.
Now we come to the players who are in early MVP discussions.
Number 1 is Andrei Kirilenko and his stats show that he can do it all. If his team record was better, he would be a shoe in for the MVP, thats the only downside and reason why he won't end up holding the MVP crown. Second is East player of the month, Vince Carter, his having a fine season too.
Third is Allen Iverson who is continuing his consistent 30ppg seasons and leading his team to the top of the Atlantic division. Fourth is the injured Tracy McGrady who has been behind the success of the Houston Rockets, despite being injured, he is still averaging a Small Forward version of Wilt Chamberlain type numbers. Fifth is LeBron James, the number 1 draft pick of 2003. He, of course, has improved his game heaps and trying to fulfill his huge potential.
Standings
Here are the standings for each division.
Surprise leaders, the 76ers are doing well but Boston and New Jersey are close up their ass. Toronto are doing well to stay around 0.500 and the Knicks have been disappointing.
No surprise as the Detroit Pistons are leading the Central division with their defence. Surprise close seconds are the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers, who are only on 3 losses each. Milwaukee are doing quite well compared to last season with new additions Andrew Bogut (draft), Jamal Magloire (trade) and TJ Ford(return from injury). The only downside to the division are the Chicago Bulls, they're full of young talent and were a surprise play-off entry last season but just haven't seemed to get their act together.
This division is pretty weak but the Heat have managed to have a good season with their multiple new additions. Atlanta have been a surprise performer. Charlotte, Orlando and Washington can't seem to get a few wins going in a row.
Another weak division, the surprise performance and continuing development of Zach Randolph (averaging 29+ppg and 11+rpg) has helped his team to a 6-5 record and the Northwest lead. Denver had a poor start but look to be coming back. Seattle, Utah and Minnesota have all been dissapointing, but their stars seem to be performing great though.
Kobe is trying his best to prove his haters wrong by leading his team to number 1 in the Pacific. This division is weak as well, as the other four teams are below 0.500 but only 1 to 1.5 games behind the leaders. Amare's injury has hurt the Suns.
Definitely the strongest division in the West, Houston are having a stellar start, San Antonio continue to quietly make a move to the play-offs. Memphis and Dallas are going strongly but the Hornets have been disappointing.
Standings for each conference.
The top 9 are all above 0.500 and the Eastern Conference are currently looking stronger than the West. The only dissappointments are the bottom four, all lottery bound. Cleveland look to be heading to the finals for the first time with LeBron James which is great for the kid's future.
Only seven teams above 0.500, including one 0.500 as a division leader, the Western conference looks very weak, except Houston, Memphis, San Antonio and Portland
It is dissappointing to see that the 3rd seed in the west is ranked 16th out of 30 in the league and teams like San Antonio and Houston have to face each other in the 2nd round.
