Computer problem

Fri Feb 17, 2006 8:04 am

Well I've been having this problem with playing videos, I'm not sure why. Anyway, I downloaded some Rudy Gay clips recently and when I go to the folder in Windows Explorer, Explorer crashes. It happens sometimes when I try to save video to the folder from the web too, and I'm not sure why. As soon as I go into the folder, I get an error report.

I think it may have something to do with xvid.dll but how can I fix it?

Does like a msg pop up like ...

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I already replaced the xvid.dll twice, and i already have VideoLan, the player isn't the problem.

Are the files in Windows Explorer in thumbnail format? If they are, go in there and quickly change it to something else then click the X before or while the error msg comes up. Open it back up again and try it.

All I know so far is that it is an XVID Codec problem. Maybe uninstall than reinstall ?

I think you guys are missing the point... he's saying it crashes when he goes to the folder, not when he opens the file.

If what I suggested doesn't work (provided you already have the folder in Thumbnail view) I will shoot myself or something.

I've been having the same problem for a long time now, I just ignore it.
My folder with bball clips also closes when I open it in explorer, now I just open WMP and "Open..".

As long as they're NBA clips and not porn clips. ;) Anyway, the same thing happens to me sometimes in my porn folder, i normally just re-open the browser and it works again the 2nd time around for some reason.
