Now I think these are two of the greatest F's at the moment so I thought I would compare them statisticly speaking, and also their all round game.
Tim Duncan:
PPG 19.5
RPG 11.4
APG 3.0
SPG .78
BPG 2.02
FG% .486
FT% .659
3P% .250
MPG 35.6
Kevin Garnett:
PPG 21.9
RPG 11.3
APG 4.5
SPG 1.22
BPG 1.37
FG% .539
FT% .787
3P% .368
MPG 39.0
KG get's more points then Duncan although the both get really the same number of rebounds.
KG on average get's more assists then Tim but I guess you don't really need a forward to get many assists.
KG also get's more steals then Tim swats more shots.
When it comes to shooting acurracy KG's the man.
Also KG's better from the charity strike.
In my opinion KG's the better player he's more athletic and also he's alot more agression.
But when it comes to rebounding this season they're pretty much the same but KG's allround game is alot better then Ducan's at the moment.
What do you guy's think?

Is that career stats or this season's stats?
Anyways, I like Garnett alot more than Duncan. Tim was just blessed with a better situation in SA with Pop and also with David Robinson as a mentor.

You're certainly right about that...
And that is this season's stats....
So far anyways.

Tmac isn't better in stats then Kobez...
Maybe in 3 area's blocking, rebounding and assists.
And in those 3 areas he is only slightly better then Kobez.
Although Kobe is better then Tmac in 5 areas, PPG, SPG, FG%, 3P%, & from the charity strike.
What I find astonishing is that Kobez has a better FG% then Tmac when Tmac scores 9 points less then Kobe a game.
Kobe's a better all round gaurd I'd hate to say it and KG in my opinion is a better Forward then Duncan

Kevin Garnett is the best player in the league. That should answer your question.

School him brother!!
...let me be quiet cuz I am too lazy to check if this is accurate.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 1:54 pm
And yes that is accurate.
When people state things wrong like that it has to be corrected.
KG being the best player in the league is a little questionable in my opinion.

Career wise I think Kobe has the edge in points, fg%, steals, rebounding goes to T-Mac and I think assists are tied.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:18 pm
duncan is better....but kg could be better if he starts demanding the ball in crunch time and take over games
Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:21 pm
Kobe stats throughout 9 seasons:
PPG: 22.4
SPG: 1.5
APG: 4.4
Total Rebounds: 5.1
Tmac's 8 season career:
PPG:22.0
SPG:1.4
APG:4.3
Total Rebounds: 6.4
Very similar stats throughout when you compare it with their career. But I still think Kobe's had a better career & playing alot better then what Tmac is atm.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:25 pm
At the moment isnt Kobe's career acerage 23.3? Thats what espn.com says.
edit: I think ur talking about entering this season.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:33 pm
But that's also plussing this year that is only from where he started to 2005.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:50 pm
oh wow suprise suprise, didn't know it was that close lol
Thu Feb 16, 2006 2:53 pm
Me either,
I thought Kobez would of been a much better player through his career but somethings just are surprising.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 3:24 pm
Garnett

I don't like monkey man
Thu Feb 16, 2006 3:28 pm
actually i thought tmac would be leading in points ( those 30+ppg yrs in orlando), assist ( ain't kobe the "ballhog?") and rebounds ( size)
anyway on topic, i'm not sure if stats is how duncan should be looked up on.. he really doesn't care about them. if he gets 13/10 and his team wins he is happy with it. KG can do it all, i think we can all agree on that. timmy is just a old school kinda guy. But until KG gets a ring, Duncan will always be ranked ahead of him all time.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 5:10 pm
tim duncan anyday, everday. he's the greatest pf ever, its not even a question for me.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 6:28 pm
That's a bit stupid to rate him the best PF ever. With such players as Larry Bird that played PF. I don't think Duncan comes close to Larry Bird.

He and Malone are the top two contenders for the best PF of all time actually. That's because it's meant to be for pure PF's Larry was more of a PF/SF. KG has a little bit of SF in him too..
Despite me being a TD fan, I'm gonna say their even in skills and stats but TD has the one up because of the rings. I'm not gonna argue if KG would get the same amount of rings as TD did with the Spurs lineup because I'm also wondering myself
Thu Feb 16, 2006 7:04 pm
Yeah I would think the Mailman is a better PF then Tim Duncan is but there is still some time to prove himself.
Thu Feb 16, 2006 9:29 pm
i say KG.....KG is a superior man-to-man defender, has a better mid range game and is the most productive overall.
The rings argument doesn't mean anything. If Garnett was traded to the Pistons right now and they went on to win many championships would that make him better? No. It's a team game, no one man has ever one the championship.
