You'll hardly regret the investment. ;) Which package did you end up going for?

Mon Feb 13, 2006 11:50 pm

This is good, hopefully I get monday off so I can watch the all star game, but will my parents let me do all star game > school, probably not

i don't start uni for 2 weeks, but best believe i'd take the day off to watch the game. Unfortunately i cant do the same for Finals.....exam time

So I'd say that brings their coverage up from last year though they're still suffering from a lack of variety.

too many Spurs-Heat-Pacers-Cavs games.

Since every week ESPN has a double header, and they only show 1 game in Australia, they should decide which game to play a month before hand.

I went with the Big Value deal (I think it's everything except movies & channels you won't watch anyways, it has MTV, music channels, ESPN, etc) which is the $74 per month one....I conned my sister into paying $24 of it, so it's essentially $50 per month for me which is only $12.50 per week....definitely worth it

That's the package I'm on. (Y) I'm also a fan of the Comedy Channel, Arena and I'm a FOX8 watcher as well so I'm definitely getting my money's worth. I barely watch FTA these days.

Oh, absolutely. But it was kind of like that last year as well, so adding the All-Star Weekend does bring the grade up a notch, at least in my book.

no half time show, no audio during halftime, none of the graphics other than the scoreboard showed up....commentators keep talking about looking at shit, and it's not on the screen. to quote the hurricane, wazzupwidat?

It's a by-product of the fact it's being rebroadcast, it seemed to be a mix of a TNT and NBA TV production so TNT guys were referring to clips and overlays and whatnot that were not being shown on the broadcast we saw.

Bulls vs Bucks is listed as an ESPN broadcast tomorrow. Unfortunately ESPN Australia decided to show NCAA hoops instead, which is better than a hotdog eating contest but still...my once chance to see the Bulls live this year (unless they make the playoffs) and you'd think I'd get it with the Bucks and Andrew Bogut being the opposition. I'm guessing there's a very slim chance for a rescheduling.

Even if they played it later...I could just avoid the results until I've watched the game. Ah well.

Wed Feb 22, 2006 1:25 pm

We get Sixers vs Bucks on Friday (Y)

Wed Feb 22, 2006 2:10 pm

Well sure, but that doesn't help me. ;)

Wed Feb 22, 2006 3:45 pm

sixers-bucks here too. Ah well, can't win them all (or half of them)

Wed Feb 22, 2006 3:46 pm

But it does help me, we got another Sixer game (Y) Screw the Bulls, we're not on the 90's (j/k)

Yeah, on Saturday. That's not so bad I guess. I can cheer on Bogut and against the Sixers, since with the current standings in the East any loss of theirs can be the Bulls' gain.

Wed Feb 22, 2006 9:52 pm

Got the new March schedule. More good news for Spurs fans....

Wed Feb 22, 2006 10:06 pm

Ugh...I know, they're the defending champs, a great team and to be honest I'm not bored watching them. But some more variety would be nice, especially when there's only 1 or 2 games per week. 3 or 4 games, it would be a different story.

Wed Feb 22, 2006 10:13 pm

maybe if detroit wins this year they'll be put on repeat nxt yr

Wed Feb 22, 2006 10:14 pm

Pistons and Spurs have both been shown a fair amount the last couple of years, plenty of Miami. This season has raised the count for the Bucks considerably, of course. Cavs and Pacers are also up there.

Wed Feb 22, 2006 10:28 pm

yeah, I'm disappointed there is no game on....damn those Bulls stinking it up, otherwise we might have got the game....I love my college ball, but those clowns ain't showing a replay of it (N) with the VCR broken, I rely on the late night replays at the moment, plus good old Sportscenter :P

Wed Feb 22, 2006 10:30 pm

This time last year, they might have been inclined to show it too.

I've noticed that bloody World Baseball Classic that no one cares about is taking away most, if not all, of my NBA & College (it's Conference Week) ball

Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:58 am

If my mate who loves baseball and hates basketball knew, I'd never hear the end of it.

Not the most enticing lineup, fortunately the Bulls PonTels keep rolling in. Not a bad investment, the season ticket, even if it does mean catching the games a little after the fact. Looks like we're getting the whole playoffs from start to finish, so assuming they do a decent job of choosing games from both conferences and a few different series it should be good.

Wed Mar 08, 2006 12:12 pm

i hope Bucks don't make it, and Spurs get knocked out early :P

actually, if Bucks play Detroit i won't cry.

Wed Mar 29, 2006 6:00 pm

Here's an update:

April 1st
Lakers @ Supersonics

April 6th
Kings at Spurs

April 8th (DOUBLE HEADER!)
Mavericks at Spurs
Lakers at Suns

April 15th
Wizards at Bulls

April 20th
Spurs at Rockets

April 27th
Playoff coverage begins with a Game 2

Coverage runs through the entire playoffs, including all NBA Finals games. No word on whether Conference Finals will be exclusively East or West this year.

Not bad, I have to say. I've seen enough Spurs for the regular season but at least we'll be seeing some other teams we haven't seen as much of. And as you might expect, I'm pretty happy to see they too picked up the Bulls/Wizards game. :)

Wed Mar 29, 2006 6:30 pm

 I cant see any cavs game til we make playoffs....

Lakers @ Suns should be a good game, as will Lakers @ Sonics.
