Though I love the Celtics I can't help but feel underawed by their lineup. So with the 'cap' edited to $60m I was free to make some quick trades before the first game of the season.
Celtics shakeup the Lineup: 3 Trades in 2 Days!
The Celt's are over-endowed with shooting guards. With the entrance of Wally Szczerbiak (72) into SF and superstar Paul Pierce's (90) movement into the two-guard position as well as Tony Allen (71) and Gerald Green (69) on the bench as backup, trading for a big man seemed like the right idea.

Perennial mediocrity characterises the Celtics point guards; Marcus Banks (68), Dan Dickau (64) and Delonte West (67) and with a lack of any reserve small forwards managements talks with Phoenix made short work to bring in 6'6" 35 year old Jim Jackson as a reliable shooting backup to Wally Szczerbiak.

Amazingly enough a third trade was made the next day as Celtics and Timberwolves managements, closely tied through Kevin McHale's presence, fought out another trade that bolstered both teams appearances on paper. With highly rated power forward Eddie Griffin (74) on the Wolves bench and their desire for a starting small forward better than Dupree (58), the blockbuster trade of the year was made when the Celtics sent center Raef LaFrentz (74) and their unsettled superstar small forward Paul Pierce (90) to Minneapolis in exchange for their old shooting guard Ricky Davis (77) and former MVP power forward Kevin Garnett (97)!

Another trade attempt to send Al Jefferson to Miami for Alonzo Mourning was turned down.
