The Black Death presents…
Image

Yea, I couldn’t resist. I have a 4 day weekend so I figure I could get something done here. I’ll try to keep my die-nasty fresh as usual with a few new looks/different ideas etc. I couldn’t really decide what team to do since CK was killin it with his History in the Making Knicks’ Dynasty, so I kinda played it off for a while. Now that he messed it up, I think I’ll take up the Knicks. I was going to do the Hawks but I don’t like doing teams that other people are doing.

Image I intervened at half-time, with us up by 3 points, 51-48. Paul Pierce was lighting it up in the first half with 23 points. Quentin Richardson for me had 18, but 4 fouls. Pierce got into foul trouble early in the 3rd and sat for the rest of the game. Marbury played big. He apparently listened to Coach Brown before the game started.

Anyway we started running away with this, everybody giving a steady contribution (including Antonio Davis’s 22-10) except for Eddy Curry who gave a typical output. Trevor Ariza played pretty good too defensively. The young guys had to fill in in the fourth quarter when both Marbury and Richardson fouled out. Nate Robinson was a spark plug off of the bench along with Channing Frye. Frye played very well defensively blocking a shot, getting 3 steals and taking charges, one of which took Ricky Davis out of the game. Nate Robinson got his first dunk, which was a two handed jam after finishing an uncontested fast break.

Strangely Paul Pierce never reentered the game, and he finished with just 23 points.

[Play of the Night]
Qyntel Woods capitalizes on his 3 minutes of PT
by finishing with a tip slam and the foul.

We started this game-well, we didn’t really seem to start this game. We were throwing up more bricks than a mason. We couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with a bowl of sand. Marbury picked up 2 fouls about midway through it and had to take a seat. Then Nate came in and picked up two fouls, so I had to run Jamal at the point and Qyntel Woods got some PT. We ended up shooting a miserable 23% in the quarter and entered the second down by 12.

The second was more of the same, Marbury picked up another foul and I had to sit him again. We were getting our asses kicked so bad I had to bring him back in for offense midway thru the second. We still couldn’t hit much, although Marbury managed to be our leading scorer at half time with 8 points. We had 16 turnovers in the first half and were down by 19.

Adam Sandler snuck into the locker room and gave a brilliant speech at half time, saying something like:
Guys, what are you doing out there? You guys aren’t playing like a team. Well, you are kinda cuz you all are sucking together. Go play better.

In the 3rd quarter we started playing better, and even outscored them 33-28. In the quarter we were down by as many as 26. I made sure Marbury kept his hands down his own pants, and stayed clear of fouls for the rest of the game. Jamal Crawford gave a steady contribution too, plus Michael Redd and Bobby Simmons were in foul trouble. TJ Ford decided he would fill in for Redd from deep and started jacking them up, which I had no problem with cuz he couldn’t hit shit.

The 4th was our quarter as we outscored them by 10 points and cut the lead as close as 2. We had a chance to tie or take the lead, but Q threw up an ill advised three and all of a sudden Milwaukee went on a run and pushed the lead back up to double digits. I thought it was over, but we battled back in the final minute but TJ Ford wouldn’t miss any FTs. We had to take our first loss of the season.
