Ahh, so that's the correct term. I call them grilled cheese sandwiches, which I absolutely love. I also like other kinds of sandwiches that have meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and perhaps mustard - no mayo - unless it's a McChicken burger, which I enjoy but hardly ever eat.

The best jaffles are Cheese jaffles with those Heinz canned spaghetti with cheese sauce. Fuck I love the cheese.
Whenever i have like leftover barbecue meat that needs to be warmed up in the microwave, I always cover it with cheese so it's cheese covered meat. Sandwhiches are more fucking awesome with cheese covered Ćevapi

I've never heard them called "jaffles"... the only thing close to it is Jaffa. I always called them toasted sandwiches.

In Australia and South Africa toasted sandwiches with sealed edges are sometimes called jaffles and sandwich toasters are sometimes called jaffle iron, named after the original jaffle iron, which was a long-handled hinged iron implement for toasting sandwiches in a campfire.

That's a bit retarded, I'm sticking with toasted sandwiches.
Wed Jan 18, 2006 1:53 am
I only call the sealed edges toasted sandwhiches jaffles. But the one that isn't sealed I call toasted sandwhiches.
Wed Jan 18, 2006 3:37 am
"toasted sandwiches" seem to be the more common term than "jaffles" at least according to Wikipedia.
Wed Jan 18, 2006 4:08 am
Hence why wikipedia states that jaffles is the more used term in Australia and South Africa which is like only 1% of the world.
Wed Jan 18, 2006 4:09 am
I've always called them "toasts" since toasts here are called "toasted bread": When an Italian says "toast" so, it means "jaffle" not "toast"

scrambled eggs(with onions, green pepper and tomatoes mixed in), ham, cheese, mayo, veggies on some nice, fresh hard dough bread.

I'm a self proclaimed pig so I will eat any sandwich that has a slab of steak in it (or chicken / turkey) as long as there's no egg . I dislike bologna , ham , and eggs. I prefer toasted bread but I don't care as long as I can shove something that tastes good into my mouth.
The best sandwich I have ever had has got to be some Cuban sandwich that was served at the cafeteria here. I don't remember much but I ordered a sandwich and they pressed it down...when I got the sandwich it was flat (not flavorless but short) and tasted spectacular.

I love BLTs, but I like almost any subs/sandwiches as long as there isn't anything too strange in there.
My favourite kind of sandwich would probably be just a 6 inch sub with the basic toppings and a shitload of black forest ham.

Dear god, put those pictures away. For some reason, I'm nauseous in the morning the past couple of weeks. I think I'm pregnant

Holy shit, I remember that burger. God that's a motherfucker of a sandwhich.
