[SAS Boxscore][DEN Boxscore]

The Denver Nuggets played their second game of the season at the Pepsi Center at home, the fans were excited to see their first look of their Nuggets for the 2006 season. The game started off pretty even with Carmelo Anthony dominating and Andre Miller was dishing out the assits. The Spurs were playing very well and Parker was playing at his best. Kenyon Martin and Tony Parker were the players at the half and the spurs led by 4. The spurs opened the 3rd with a 14-0 run it soon silenced the whole arena and got the Nuggets to motivate themselves. Andre Miller combined with Marcus Camby completed a spectacular alley-oop play which got the fans screaming, Denver then had a surge and got the score closer. Spurs closed out the quarter winning. George Karl was happy with the game but disapointed with the loss. Denver played really good in the 4th but it was enough to get them the victory and San Antonio claimed the win.
Carmelo Anthony finished with 29 points and 4 rebounds for the Nuggets. "I didn't get much help from my team mates tonight thats really why we lost, we didn't execute like a team". said Anthony on tonights game. Nene played well off the bench again getting 10 points and 8 rebounds. Denver lacked help from other players who usually put up big numbers such as Kenyon Martin and Andre Miller, Miller got 12 assists but only 5 points.

Tony Parker led it for the spurs getting 27 points and 6 assits. "I just had one of those nights i guess, i did anything to get that W. Parker has been playing pretty average as of late and is not one of San Antonio's top players right now. Manu Ginobli finished with 21 points and 3 assits. Duncan played well despite his lack of points he got 9 boards, 2 assits, 3 steals and 2 blocks. "I didn't really focus on points tonight i just played more on defense, Duncan had to watch quick PF Kenyon Martin who has been playing at all-star level as of late. "he's a good player, he was awesome with the Nets and is turning out to be better with the Nuggets" said Duncan.

Greg Popovich was happy with the spurs performance and he also credit George Karl on turning this team around. "I think hes done a great job with these guys so far, i mean our team is full of all-stars and Denver has maybe 1 or 2 in Camby and Anthony and they managed to come into 3 points. I wouldnt be surprised if we lose next time we vs, they are a tough team, look out for them." George Karl laughed and and thanked Popovich for his comments. "It's great to hear one of the best coaches in the league give you compliments, i look forward to playing the spurs again. I feel we could of played more as a team tonight but Carmelo stepped up and i am happy with his performance. The Nuggets play the Clippers next look out for Corey Maggette when he takes on Carmelo Anthony.

Tony Parker owned you :headbang:

nice dynasty, good presentation. It's all about the presentation, not the amount of wins you get in the dynasty (Y)

[LAC Boxscore][DEN Boxscore]

The Denver Nuggets won one of their closest games this season with a 3 point win over the visiting Los Angeles Clippers. Denver were even with the Clippers throughout the whole match and it was forced into overtime after a spectacular dunk shot by Brand late in the 4th quarter. Overtime was exciting as ever as the game was still farely even, the clippers took an early 8 point lead which was off a 10-2 run, the whole center went quiet and they thought the game was lost, but Denver responded with 4 quick baskets and the lead was the tied both teams then got another 5 points and it was tied at 120. The Clippers were in possestion and took the ball up to the key way, Cassell found Mobley open at 3 but the shot didnt fall, Anthony grabbed the rebound and found Boykins then Anthony sprinted to the other end of the court with 2 seconds remaining Boykins lobbed Anthony a pass at the 3 point line, Brand saw and went for the block but it was too late Anthony got off a perfect shot and Denver won the game.

"It was an awesome game, i feel so proud to have made the game winner" said Anthony after the game, "Its really a great feelin' i mean i will be telling my gran children on how i put up a game winner in an NBA game, it feels great." Anthony finished with 36 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and picked up Player of the Game duties. Andre Miller had 18 assists but only 6 points, "Im working more on my point guard game than my scoring game, I just wanna win the game i dont care how much i score." Martin continued with his great performances getting 16 points and 9 rebounds, Marcus Camby got 23 points and 15 rebounds he also got 4 blocked shots, even some game stoppers. Nene and Watson played well off the bench and both of them are making stellar progress according to George Karl who is going to start Watson in his next match.

The Clippers played a great game even though they lost they can leave with their chins up. Cassell scored 29 points and got 7 assists. "I thought I played great, i enjoyed this game and it will go down as one of my favourites". Said Cassell. Elton Brand got 26 points and 10 rebounds. He was 11-16 from the feild. "We can take a lot out of this game and take it into future games with the Nuggets and other basketball teams" said coach Mike Dunleavy. Shaun Livingston got 14 points off the bench.

The Nuggets now have a short break till their next game.
