Rookie Challenge Participants

Rookie Starters

Andrew Bogut
Image The young Australian leads his Rookies into battle, leads all Rookies with 9.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game, you can also add 14 points per game also, has been vital to the future success to the Milwaukee Bucks franchise.

Charlie Villanueva
Image He suprised the nation when he was drafted 7th overall in the draft, but has playing excellently off and bench and as a starter. Averaging a solid 7.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game, has been the added help for Chris Bosh down low for the Raps.

Marvin Williams
Image A great year for the number 2 draft pick, not only is he averaging 14.5 and 8.3 rebounds per game, but he has helped the Chicago to a 34-19 record. Was clearly struggling at Atlanta where he was getting no game time, but has flourish in his roles at Power Forward and Small Forward.

Martell Webster
Image By far the best performing high school player in the draft, has carried the Blazers a few times with year with his deadly outside shooting, equal leader for all Rookies with 17.8 points per game and 4.0 assists

Deron Williams
Image Blazing away at the point for the Jazz equal leader among Rookies in points [17.8] and leads all rookies with 5.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Has also electrified Jazz fans by playing at the shooting guard.

Rookies Bench

Rashad McCants
Image A Tar Heel reunion of sorts with 3 of the 4 North Carolina championship players back in the same team. McCants has brought another scoring option to the Timberwolves behind KG and Wally World. His 14.1 points and 4.2 assists have been helpful for a team who had a bad 2005 season.

Chris Paul
Image Started the season on the floor, but has been relagated to the bench by Speedy Claxton, clearly a wasted talent sitting there on the bench on a bad team, and his stat line proves it. 9.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3 assists per game.

Raymond Felton
Image The Tar Heel trio finishes with point guard Felton, like Chris Paul was relegated to the bench by a veteran point guard, could be more usful as another club in need of a point guard. His 7.1 points and 3.2 assists per game has him in 6th man of the year calculations.

Ike Diogu
Image Diogu has really stepped up to fill the void of Troy Murphy who was injured last month, turning from a player who averaged less than double digit mintues per game to a legit, grind it out force on the block, his 5.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game dont give this kid justice at all.

Sophomore Starters

Nenad Krstic
Image In a team full of superstars, this young Serbs star has shun bright since opening night, providing a 4th offensive scoring option averaging 11.9 points per game and is in the top 5 Sophomores in rebounds per game

Emeka Okafor
Image Missed out last years Rookie Challenge through injury and is itching to make his mark on All Star Weekend. The only starter on both teams who is averaging a double double per game with 14 points and 12.3 rebounds.

Andre Iguodala
Image Put on a great display of athleticism and shooting at last years game, would be looking to score more points and show these Rookies a few windmills. Has a full statsheet with 13.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.6 steals per game.

Ben Gordon
Image Stepped up his productivity level from last years season now that he is a starter, and even more so when big man Tyson Chandler picked up a facial injury going from 14 points per game to over 19.

Sebastian Telfair
Image Didnt play in last years event, he has since become a starter and is putting up great numbers for a Sophomore with 14.3 points and 6.7 assists per game.

Sophomore Bench

J.R Smith
Image Smith has arguably had the best second year season out of all the Sophomores, he was beaten out of starting position by Gordon because the Bulls are placed better than the Hornets. Smiths averaging the most points out of all Sophomores with 19.5 points per game. Tag along 4.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists and you got yourself a future All Star.

Al Jefferson
Image Was the last minute replacement for Emeka Okafor in last years contest, but had a good enough season this year to earn himself a spot legitimatly. Averaging a near double double of 10.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game and 2.2 blocks per game, is the future of the Celtic club.

Josh Smith
Image Last years Dunk champion is back again for more fun and games. Has ben a suprise around the league averaging a double double of 10.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in a mixture of Power Forward and mostly Small Forward. Hawks still a poor franchise with the addition of Joe Johnson so are still hoping Smith can improve statically wise.

Dwight Howard
Image The numer 1 draft pick is back so a second go around. The third player to be averaging a double double on this Sophomore side, His 14.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game have been a convenience to the still struggling Orlando Magic, and with Grant Hill comming back into the fold could see this monsters stats improving.

Now that I clearly readed the All-Star Game lineups, wtf is doing LaFrentz starting at C for the East, when you have Shaq and Big Ben?

Fri Jan 06, 2006 12:13 pm

dunno, coz shaqs been injurd for most of the year and lafrnetz is averaging 22 points and like 10 rebounds per game...the computer would choose the participants by how well theyve played, and lafrentz has had a better year than shaq or big ben

Fri Jan 06, 2006 7:04 pm

i recently got a copy of NBA Live 06 on the comp so for something special ill be doing the dunk contest and the 3pt contest on the comp and take a few screen shots, ill be taking the chosen players who were selected by the x box

Josh Smith

and the 3 point Contest:
