Postgame Notes

Jazz Notes

+ Seven players scored in double-figures.
+ Shot 49-95 (.516) from the field, 11-22 (.500) from downtown, and 15-16 (.938) from the line.
+ Win another game on the road and move to 6-0 on the season.
- Yao Ming went out of the game in the 2nd quarter with a knee injury, but came back later in the 4th quarter and looked fine. I'm still a little worried about the knee becoming a problem in the future.
- Chris Paul was a little off with his timing tonight shooting just 3-12 (.250).

Raptors Notes

+ All starters scored in double-figures.
- Bench didn't step-up while Bosh was out with foul trouble early.
- Took way too many contested shots from the outside shooting just 2-18 (.111) from downtown.
- Lose another game and move to 1-4 on the season.

Nope. I'm pretty happy with the roster and I'm not willing to cut anyone to make room for possible free agent signings. If it ain't broke don't fix it, right? ;)

Bulls Hand Utah First Loss of Season
Tyson Chandler comes up big in the final minute of play.

Tyson Chandler's Bulls were down by four points with just under a minute to go when he stepped it up on both sides of the floor scoring 4 points and blocking 2 shots in the final minute of play. Chandler's hookshot over Troy Murphy with 18 seconds to go put the Bulls up by two and Utah couldn't answer back as Chandler hit two crucial free throws with 12 seconds left on the clock after he'd been intentionally fouled.

Utah's Stromile Swift went out early in the 4th quarter with a minor arm injury and did not return to the court. This is the second time in two games that one of the Jazz's premiere players had to leave the game early due to injury. Yao left the game the previous night with a knee injury but returned to play and looked to be in pretty good shape tonight versus the Bulls.

Postgame Notes

Jazz Notes

+ Shot the ball well. Shot 41-79 (.519) as a team.
+ Finally get to go home for a game after four on the road.
- Chris Paul continues to struggle with his shot going 3-10 (.300). Missed half of his free throws (4-8).
- Lacked energy on the defensive end.
- Lost Stromile Swift in the 4th quarter with an arm injury.
- First loss of season (6-1).

Bulls Notes

+ Played solid on both ends of the court.
+ Played the last quarter with a lot of energy.
+ Made crucial free throws in the final minutes of the game.
+ Get another win on the season (4-2).
- Took too many contested shots from the outside (6-23).

Yeah, I'm pretty upset with myself for not putting Mutombo in there at the PF position after Swift went out because Murphy's defense isn't exactly spectacular (went for the steal on Chandler when he should've played it safe). I lost on Christmas, too. Can't wait to see what I get for gifts with this kind of a start to my holiday. I'm all about giving anyway, look for a huge, in-depth look at the past week in the NBA and a preview of the upcoming week sometime today.
