Xbox 360 Violence?

Thu Nov 24, 2005 1:19 pm

I live in East Tenn and at the local Wal Mart there was a 4 person fight over one of the 360's.

Then a little later there was a robbery at gun point. They robbed a guy for his 6 xbox 360's that he already had pre-sold on ebay.

Thats kinda funny though thats what his scalping ass deserves he sold them for around $900 each.

Any stories from where you all live?

Thu Nov 24, 2005 1:25 pm

no , no stories where I live . he was trying to make money by selling his Xbox 360's on ebay , doesn't deserve to get robbed gun-point for trying to make cash .

Thu Nov 24, 2005 1:26 pm

That dipshit deserves it, 6 XBOX 360's? I don't think we have them out here so no such stories, I'd just stomp some ass if I wanted one and someone else had it. Not that I can afford it. I'm not surprised people were fighting over them though, it's kinda pathetic when you think about it.

Edit: Must point out, the reason I don't like the eBay guy is because he's basically robbed 5 other people of the chance of owning an Xbox 360 purely to aide his own greed. If he can afford 6 of the things to start with he can't really be that desperate for the money.

A similar thing happened to my dentist () minus a fight, she waited from 5:30 am till 8:00 to get an Xbox 360 for her son, but the person right in front of her in line got the last one, and they were planning to sell it on Ebay for $1000. I agree with Jae about the selling on ebay, I think it's kind of dumb. One is enough, but six? That's fucking robbery.

Thu Nov 24, 2005 1:31 pm

True Jae , you have a point , but when you think about it , he multiplies the money he wasted . He bought 6 xbox 360's , a total of somewhere between 2000 to 3000 dollars . Sells them for 900 a pop . thats about 4000-5000 dollars , depending on how many of the 6 he sold . Greedy , it is , but its a smart move business wise .

People do that with limited items all the time, buy alot and then sell them for more. I personally can't stand re-sellers myself because they do take away the fact that 5 other people can't get the system. If I were to do things like this, I would buy no more than two.

It's just like people who buy 20 concert tickets or tickets to football games to sell them online, it's really irritating. Thankfully there's laws against that now but it doesn't seem to stop them.

When I got my Xbox 360 at midnight there were a bunch of security guards and a security car out there to protect you.

Thu Nov 24, 2005 1:57 pm

DAMN! 6 360's?

I only got 3. :(

Lol Riot , you felt like a movie star or a famous person like that , didn't you ?

And by the way , even I agree its wrong to sell and then re-sell , its annoying . But face it , its a smart move money-wise .

I don't know if there's Costcos nearby, but nobody thinks about Costco, and it was fairly easy for people to buy their copy on the first day.

yeah, we have BJ's out here, same store pretty much but odly enough BJ's only got 10.

1000 rolls of toilet paper, but 10 360's?! :?

Thu Nov 24, 2005 2:23 pm

BJ's isn't normally known for there gaming section . In the BJ's by my house , they only had a selection of like 10 total games for every system . I doubt they even have XBOX 360's .

You've escaped this time.

Thu Nov 24, 2005 3:02 pm

Yea , I think its a great idea to make money but I mean its almost christmas and some little kids parents might have enough money to get the kid a decent present for the first time in thier life. He asks Santa for a 360 and instead gets a stocken full of coal and a daddy with a black eye.

I could see getting one and making my money back if I didn't have enough money.

$299 + $30 tax 329 total so 6 of them is $1,974

You get $999 on ebay so your looking at around $5,994

4,020 profit

Wal Mart should of had a limit of one concidering the number of people lined up to the small number of xbox 360 units.

I'm sure the greedy bastard will make his money back somehow.

As soon as I got my hands on the Xbox I literally sprinted towards my truck. I wasn't going to stop in the middle of a pitch black parking lot at that time of the night. Even though there were security out there I didn't want to take any chances. I didn't feel like killing anyone that night.

I think that's a good idea. I mean imagine if someone took out a $20,000 bank loan, bought all of the 360's in the shop and then stood in the car park selling them at twice the price  he'd either make a fortune or get brutally murdered.

There's a limit at my local wal-mart, 1 per person.
