I don't know most of mine yet (Gym, Science, French), we get Report Cards soon, but I do know I have 104% in Math

If i wanted to lie, i would say my marks are all 90's. I just cant believe a person can get above 95%, even the smartest people in my classes don't get higher than 95% (excluding a few).

I will post my marks when I get them back on the 12th of December if this thread is still active. However probably only the Australians who live in SA, NSW or Vic would understand what is good and what is not with our marking system in year 12.

I don't know about Toronto, but there's a lot a kids at my high school who get higher than 95. I have 104 because I had 100 on every test except one, where I had 108 because of bonus marks. It's not that hard to do if you try.

Wow! Your classes must be really easy. I think the reason for low marks in my school must be that there is too much competition. We got a lot of students in the school, 32 pupils in every class is the average. Most schools find a 60-69% a "C", but in my school its considered a "D". I am getting 70's in most of my classes and that is like a "C".

I'm in grade 11. I have 6 classes.

AVID: Don't know yet, but this is an easy class. (AVID is a class that prepares you for college. We take tours to colleges and get a lot of information.)
Algebra 2: A
Honors English: B-
AP (Advance Placement) US History: D -Really hard!
Chemistry: B-
French 3: A

My classes this semester:
English 12 - 78% Fuck... must maintain at least 80 to avoid LPI exam in university...
Biology 12 - 82% WORST.TEACHER.EVER. If anyone ever heard of some bitch named Singhai, shoot her.
History 12 - 80% Boring ass course

My school is overpopulated too. A small class is 35 kids. We don't even have enough desks for kids. I'm not saying the majority get A's, but there are always about 10 kids who get above 90% per class.

No, it's quite possible. There's a lot of really smart kids in my high school; even say a math whiz who answers correctly, there's almost little room for them to not get a final mark of 100% if he knows what he's doing.

So maybe that is why people think Americans are so dumb! Our grading system is harder than the Canadians!

80% is an A over here...

I got end of year exams starting next Tuesday, the last ones where I don't have to try. Then next year (my final) I better start working properly for the first time in my schooling life.

How is an 80% an A?
we don't have minuses (-) and
40% and below is F also 80% to 89% is A( in some tests, it varys)

I think our grading system is hugely differnt to all of yours:
we have F, E, E+, D, D+, C, C+, B, B+, A, A+.

Basicall our grading system is:

90%-100%=A
80%-89%=B
70%-79%=C
60%-69%=D
59% or lower=F

And of course, we have +'s and -'s but that is too difficult and time consuming to post about.

Grades are just this civilizations way of putting it's seal of approval on us.

12th grade:

Ad. Criminal Justice: 95
Calculus AP: 71
Biology AP: 89 (really a 99, but i wont get into how my school grades AP classes)
English 4 Dual Credit (college credit): 87
ROTC 4: 100
US Government: 84

and btw, @ my school and i think most of the US, the grading system is like this:

100-90: A
89-80: B
79-75: C
74-70: D
69/less: F

in vancouver we got

a -100-86
b -85-73
c+ -73-67
c- 66-60
c- - 50-59

it may seem easy, but the teachers give VERY HARD WORk

I already completed grade 12 but am back this year for a few more classes. My marks from last year were:
English - 84 (if you ever want to get me ranting, ask me the story behind this class.)
History - 84 (no impact on my future. thought it would be fun like grade 11 was... NOT!)
Geometry and Discrete ("hardest" math) - 97
Music - 98
Biology - 93 (best in the school)
Chemistry - 92

So far in Calculus this year I have 99 orso. And anyone who says grade 11 is the hardest is lying because I'm fairly certain I did 1 or 2 % better in grade 11. Like, 89 english, 88 history, 98 math, 95 sciences, etc...
