The Los Angeles Lakers Franchise

Image

Introduction:
Well, I was away from the NBA Live series and these forums for a good few months. But after following the previews of Live 2006 and eventually the other dynasties which members created, the urge of keeping up a dynasty has become to much to handle and I feel like I have to do it again. I started a Lakers dynasty with NBA Live 2005 but I had to stop because I didnt have the time to update a big dynasty like that one, so this one will be a little more simple but hopefully still enjoyable. This year I will do something different however. I just discoverd that watching the CPU vs CPU play with my personal edited sliders is much fun and I get realistic results, and the stats are not biased. My only role this year will be being the General Manager, and the players will do all the playing themselves :). The dynasty will start soon when Andrew releases his rosters.

2005/2006 starting line-up

ImageImage Image Image Image
--------------------

C - Chris Mihm #31

Image
Last team: Los Angeles Lakers
Last years statistics: 9.8 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 1.44 BPG
Scouting Report: Talented offensive player... Has some low post moves and effective mid-range and hook shots... Good athleticism... Plays more aggressive now... Good dunker... Has not lived up to the expectations.

F - kwame Brown #54

Image
Last team: Washington Wizards
Last years statistics: 7.0 PPG, 4.9 RPG, .36 BPG
Scouting Report: The first high school player in history to be taken with the top overall pick in the NBA Draft... An athletic freak... Good shot blocker... Good leaping ability... All his game needs to be polished... Foul prone... Has developed an offensive game, but still has a long way to go... Still very inconsistent... Doesn't have great hands... Bad attitude... Plays selfish.

F - Lamar Odom #7

Image
Last team: Los Angeles Lakers
Last years statistics: 15.2 PPG, 10.2 RPG, 1.02 BPG
Scouting Report: An all-around player... Can play all positions except center... Brings points, rebounds and assists... His passing skills are definitely above average (even for point guard standards)... Very few players are better than him at notching triple-doubles... Off-the-court issues have tarnished his image... Injury prone.

G - Kobe Bryant #8

Image
Last team: Los Angeles Lakers
Last years statistics: 27.6 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 6.0 APG
Scouting Report: Probably the best perimeter player in the league... Attacks the basket, shoots, plays D, rebounds, passes the ball, runs the floor... He does everything and does it well... Athletic and charismatic... Excels under pressure... The best clutch player in the NBA... You won't find many such gifted players in the league neither in the past nor in the future... Will be a basketball legend... Has a me-first attitude.

G - Smush Parker #1

Image
Last team: NBDL
Last years statistics: n/a
Scouting Report: Good shooter and gifted ballhandler... Has good size for the point guard position... Can play the two spot... Turnover prone... Can make it in the league, but needs to develop his playmaking skills.

Great start...this'll probably be good since you're a mainstay in the dynasty section.

I'll probably be around here a lot since I've started a new dynasty (which is a lot better and more detailed than my first 2 attempts on 05) and I've been checking a lot more of the dynasties

I knew you couldn't resist.

Great start, good luck! I heard you had a good Live 05 dynasty, so I have no doubt this will be good. (Y)

Nice start, I really like how those scouting reports are from a neutral point of view and not from you as a Lakers fan. (Y)

Looks good, nice report on all the players. Give Devean George lots of playing time so he can get back to game shape! (Y)

A good start, and the scouting reports are alright, mainly because they're copied off of hoopshype.com

lakers.com wrote:Lakers Announce Hiring of Mr. T as General Manager

El Segundo, October 30 -- The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Mr. T as the teams new General Manager, it was announced.

Former Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak aknowledged Lakers owner Dr. Buss that he could no longer hold the pressure of being the General Manager, and will work as a International Scout for the Lakers.

Mr. T, also known as ´B.A. (Bad attitude) Barracus` in the populair action serie ´The A-Team` seemed to be the perfect man to replace Mitch Kupchak as the General Manager of the Los Angeles Lakers. Although Mr. T holds no NBA let alone basketball experience, Dr. Buss seems very confident that he found the right guy as the General Manager.

"We’re very pleased to have Mr. T as our new General Manager" said Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss. "He knows the game and has a great mentality, the choice was quite simple. We feel that he is the right person for this job to build a championship-caliber team"

With the signing, Mr. T will enter his first year into the world of professional basketball starting the 2005-2006 NBA season. Mr. T had no further comments.

 lol @ the Mr. T signing...... great idea, guess it's hollywood huh..... can't wait for your first game....

Sun Oct 30, 2005 10:42 pm

 We all know they'll eventually win the Championship trophy, Mr. T will make them win it, put holes in the trophy, put a chain through it & sport it around his neck while attending meetings with fellow GM's. He's also going to fight the NBA's Commish to outlaw this absurd rule of not wearing baggy clothes/jewelry. He's going to hand out some whoopings. Much like LA will in this Dynasty.

Best of luck dude, I'll be here reading from time to time.
