Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

the whole thing with Tim getting a lot of the credit shouldn't be seen as a surprise....I remember regularly consulting with Tim over roster patch changes and he was always visible and present for comments and feedback (much like Andrew is)....from my experience, I didn't really see that from the other guys....that's probably why he was seen as the "front guy" of it I guess....

^^ Tim was helpful, so was Lutz. I remember sending them emails regarding some NBA Live problems (can't remember specifically) and they were nice enough to reply back and give solutions to solve the problem immediately.

I never reply to any of the emails I get these days... mostly because they're usually idiotic and asking for things that aren't possible. One day I'll make a thread full of the dodgy emails we get at the @nba-live.com address.

Lutz and Brien were extremely helpful back in the day and certainly very important in making the NLSC what it became. But X is right, Tim was certainly the most prominent figure, doing all kinds of work for the site and I'm pretty sure he had the original idea as well. It was a joint effort but Tim spearheaded the project.

Does anybody know what Brien and Lutz are up to nowadays?
Does Tim still peruse these forums?
It would be nice to see how they're going, since they were the pioneers!

Andrew, someday you'll make it big time.

I think Tim has a quick read every now and then. Lutz doesn't have much free time these days (starting to know how that feels

) and I haven't been able to get in touch with Brien for a long time.

Thanks Andrew,
You working hard? I know what it takes to make a living!
I recall the days when Tim, Lutz, Brien would help me out with patching Live 2000. Ah, those were the days! They did a bloody great job. I also gotta say it's great to see it continued with people like you!

Thanks Thuan.

Yeah, I don't have quite as much time as I used to, especially since my roster changed and I'm working 9-6 Monday to Thursday and 9-1 Saturdays. Given that I'm spending 9 hours in front of a computer, I'm not always keen to jump straight online when I get home, which is one of the reasons I haven't been around much as of late. But pay cheques and a day off on Fridays make it worthwhile.

He should be there now imho. EA fucks everything up these days, with the exception of Madden.
Sat Oct 29, 2005 2:58 am
As Tim neatly puts it, he "cracked EA's file formats
he continued cracking EA's file formats
Cracking the file formats? Didn't that make the previous developers of the game pissed off?
I can imagine the previous developers talking:
Person E: Who the fuck does this guy thinks he is, making our hardwork look easy! What can we do to stop the retard?
Person A: We could kill him but that would be hardwork.
Person E: Hire someone to kill him?
Person A: Too expensive. Let's just hire him.
*a few months later*Person E: Mr. Tschirner, we're going to hire you on one condition.
Tim: What is it?
Person A: Prevent other "patchers" *cough* assholes *cough* from cracking the game's file formats.
Person E: Is it a deal?
Tim: Damn yeah!
*And so, Tim Tschirner joined the dark side of EA Sports..*Why have they been he making patching so hard then in the latest editions?
[Tim in EA dictator mode mixed with Comic Book Guy] No! Only I match patch the NBA Live series! Be gone! [/All that]

Wait,
naftus is right. Andrew only joined the forums on Aug. 22, 2002 so Andrew wasn't around during 95-98. Andrew's 16,000 something posts doesn't matter either because we all know it was accumulated via spamming.

Jae wrote:Who do you think made him the admin of this site dickhead? The tooth fairy?
The Tooth Fairy doesn't have those kind of administrative powers. I'm betting Santa or the Easter Bunny did it.
Tue Nov 01, 2005 7:09 am
The Easter Bunny? He doesn't even get to sit at the adult table, let along have administrative powers.
My guess is it was the ghost of Christmas past.
Tue Nov 01, 2005 9:03 am
wow sit down you rookies..
you fatasses really think that the nba live community initiatives START AND END ONLY WITH THIS WEBSITE???
rofl fgts.

Wait, naftus is right. Andrew only joined the forums on Aug. 22, 2002 so Andrew wasn't around during 95-98.
Thats the new forums.

He was around for longer.
