My first real attempt at a sig!

Fri Oct 14, 2005 6:22 pm

I made this sig to use in a simulation league. I didnt want any grunge or things like that. People may say its a bit plain, but i like it.

I made it a while ago but wanted to show it.

Thoughts?

Plain but promising... personally I'm a fan of simple effective sigs without all the grunge and whatever, it could use some work but generally for what you're doing it isn't bad.

I agree with both of you, I'm not too fond of grunge sigs either.
That Denver sig looks pretty good, the basket and ball don't really fit in but otherwise it would've been really empty on the right side so it's not really bad.
I think it would look a little bit better if you moved the logo a bit more to the right, say 10 pixels.

ps. whenever I try to make a simple sig, it looks like some 5-year old made it, so I finally always come out with a grungy sig because that's all I can do. What's the key to a good, simple sig?

Definitely promising like Jae said, you didn't come out with just a plain yellow background and a Nuggets logo, you incorporated some lines and some different colors. Keep up that sort of style for a while, it's nice.

For me, it's all about having an idea, and then going with it. Like your current sig, you had an idea (Show the 3 new Knicks), and you put the in front of a city background (whored idea, but it still looks nice). Personally I think most grunge basketball sigs don't look very good at all, which is why they're harder to make for me then just something like an abstract sig.

Not bad for a pixel stretch...but the logo is set too far to the left and the basketball looks out of place. (Maybe a different color on it?)

Not trying to push my own shit here  but I got told this wallpaper was a good example of how to do a simple graphic... I guess it could apply to sigs too

I just picked a few colours and decided I was only going to use straight lines and deliberately avoided brushing. Changing the opacity and overlapping layers while keeping it all simple helps too. That all being said, I've confused myself.

it's a bit plain, and simplle but overall i like it
P.S: the ball is out of shape

I agree not bad but a little to plain.

I dont like thw ball

Take off the ball and hoop like what everyone has said because it looks out of place. And yeah, the usual sig with the grunge background has gotten kind of boring
