I'm not a fan of undersized shooting guards so I don't personally like Monta Ellis, but getting rid of Aaron and Eric Williams is a good thing (although Eric is supposedly getting his ass back in gear).

Damn, there are so many Raptor dynasties popping up. I was hoping I would be the only one that would do one so I wouldn't have any competition. Now I'm not really sure if I should make one.

Game Recap:

The game started off close in score but far in momentum as the Celtics made a few sweet plays which increased their confidence but at the same time didn't make the Raptors feel down as they battled and battled until they got the clear upperhand. The Raptors were led by Power Forward Chris Bosh as his counterpart Al Jefferson led the Celtics! The Toronto Raptors showed that they are for real and that their young guys do have skill by their young guys coming in and taking over. The Raptors have, count them, 1 (Charlie Villianueva), 2 (Joey Graham), 3 (Manuel Almeida), 4 (Jose Calderon), 5 (Monta Ellis) rookies (although Ellis didn't play)! The Raptors rooks played solid. The Raptors broke-free from the Celtics and won by 16 as the final score was 88 to 72! Here are some highlights from the game in review! Enjoy!!!

Ricky Davis with Oop from Alley
Paul Pierce with a smooth move
CB4 takes it hard to PP n Jefferson
Araujo slams it hard
Villanueva rejects Dickau
Pape Sow with the Alley-Oop cram
Joey Graham with a slam in traffic

After the Game Quotes:

Sam Mitchell: "I felt that the guys played great and that they will do just fine this season, but I am going to have problems with minutes as some guys won't necessarily be able to get the minutes they want."

Sam Mitchell: "The starters will now only see action in the 1st quarter and the bench players will have to pick up the slack that will be lost from the the starters only playing a quarter."

Chris Bosh: "It's always nice to be "Player of the Game", but this is a team sport and i'm happier that we won the game and that we finally got to see what the rookies could do, and I think we will make a possible push for the playoffs."

Jalen Rose: "The Rose is unhappy with his minutes but will not complain as The Rose is a true professional. The Rose just thinks that he should be seeing a lot more playing time than what he is getting. But The Rose will always be professional and not complain."

lmao, that's just like him. Cocky and stupid. But he's still one of my favourite Raptors.

It would also be nice if you gave us some more details on some of the statistics though. Things like adding boxscores and telling who scored whatever amount of points is also something that could improve your recaps.

Ye boxscores are helpful to see how everyone does. Also maybe a main photo to show.

Love the Raps jerseys... sweetness.

Another Raptors Dynasty...they're getting real popular around here. Good win against the Celtics. I just beat them in my dynasty too lol (Check it out!). Nice Jerseys by the way, blending the old ones with the current ones and adding something new. Luv them (Y)

Oh yeah, and I personally don't like the jerseys. The blotches of purple on the jerseys aren't really that good in my opinion, but at least you attempted something out of the ordinary, which was good.

Maybe I just like the red alternates too much.

Fri Oct 14, 2005 11:31 am

Thanks for the complements. I just finished another game although I might not get it up tonight (if I dont then itll be up Sunday or Monday night)! The reason I don't have box scores is cause since this is pre-season (exhibition) I cant save the stats although for my game against Nets I took a screenshot of the stats for both teams!

Side note - Toronto Raptors announce the signing of former Raptor Chris Jeffries for the remainder of the pre-season!

The purple is from the light in the game and not actually on the jersey!

Game Recap:

The Raptors hosted their pre-season home opener against the fiesty Nets out of the swamps of New Jersey! The Raptors went quickly into a 7 to 0 run and things were looking great for them. The Nets quickly caught up and from there the game was equal for the rest of the 1st and midway through the 2nd. The Raptors then turned on the jets and managed to pull away with a 12 point lead in the 3rd, and then the Raptors all of a sudden hit rock bottom with Araujo, Sow, Villanueva, Graham and Calderon on the floor in the 3rd. New Jersey now found themselves as much as a 7 point lead midway throught the 4th. The Raptors found a way back to 2 points by some gutsy plays by Villanueva (3 ball) and Sow (inside scoring and offensive rebounds) to bring the game back. With 4.4 seconds left in the game Joey Graham inbounded the ball to Villanueva (at the 3 point line), where he then got by his defender and put up a leaning jumper from 12 feet, it hit back iron and fell out. The Toronto Raptors lost a nail-biter 81 to 79! The Raptors will travel to Cleveland to face their former teammate and friend in Donyell Marshall! Here are some highlights from tonights game! Enjoy!!!

After the Game Quotes:

Sam Mitchell: "I'm happy that my guys were able to give the Nets a run for their money. I felt that they competed their hardest, and that's what it all comes down to, guys playin their hardest. That's all that I ask. They got killed on the rebounds, and i'm angry that they got killed like that on the boards. These guys have to want it more. But with practice i'm sure these young guys will realize it. Also, it seems as if there is a serious competition for the starting point guard spot. We didn't think Jose would be this good, this early, and if he keeps up the play, he could be the starting point guard come season opener."

Pape Sow: "I really like how I played today. I feel I have got better since last season."

Jose Calderon: "That was a great game we played, and I think that we will get better with time and I think we'll be completely ready as early as season opener!"

Question to Jalen Rose: "Jalen, you only got to play the first quarter and saw mainly rookies for the rest of the game, how do you feel the rookies did?
Jalen Rose: "The Rose has no comment."

Manuel Almeida: "The guys did great and held in there late. We will get better and are getting better right now. As far as my back is concerned, it'll be alright, I just need to get a lot of sleep and maybe a few back rubs. . But I guess i'll have to call in my girlfriend for that. "
