I finally got the game yesterday for PS2 and here I am again playing the Miami Heat and leading them to championships. Although that maybe a little more difficult because after 4 games in my Dynasty, i've only won game, and that is with Mourning going back in time and amazing scoring 34pts along with 15rebs and 4blks against the Nets.
I did a few trades along the way. I traded Shandon Anderson for Hakim Warrick, and traded Dorell Wright for Pavel Podkolzine. My starting 5 looks like this...
C Shaq daddy
PF Zo Mourning
SF Antoine Walker
SG Glove Payton (his new monicker it Mittens)
PG Dwayne Wade
Second 5
C Pavel Podkolzine
PF Hakim Warrick
SF James Posey
SG Steve Smith
PG White Chocolate Williams
Bench
PF Adonis Haslem
C Wang Zhizhi
SG Andrew Emmet
C Michael stoneface Doleac
I know Wade is supposed to be a SG now but i didn't win any game with him as a SG. When i moved him to PG I won against the Nets, so i'm keeping him at the point.
I justed the slider to make the game realistic. I'm playing on Superstar, 7 minute quarters and 12 minute sim. I adjusted the slider mainly for the rebounding department, a lot of people have commented on the CPU's rebounding prowess so i adjusted it to make it fair. I decreased theirs to 30 and i increased mine to 70. That gave me a better chance of rebounding against them.

Good luck with this. Your lineup sould be:
C Shaq daddy
PF Zo Mourning(Not him,he needs to backup Shaq)
SF Antoine Walker (No,Put Walker at PF and start Posey here)
SG Glove Payton (his new monicker it Mittens) Nope start Wade here.
PG Dwayne Wade (No Start White Chocolate Williams)
Did that help?

Here's what i think about the game. It's very similar to 2005 and that is basically a good thing. The thing that i don't like about it is...
- The free throw target is too light for me to see. It's either that of the stadium lighting is too bright.
- When you go on a time out, you could press the triangle button to get back to the game on 2005 but not in 2006.
- The graphics for 2005 is actually smoother than 2006. The new moves are great but the texture of the players is not as clear considering that i ahve the s-video connection already.
- They took out some very good shoes and replace them with a lot of Reeboks. The Reeboks are nice but they should have kept the shoes from the previous Lives.
I haven't figured out how to train my players or how to make my lazy ass scout to go scout so i can't comment about that yet, but since it's there, then i guess it's a good addition.
Overall, I think this will be another good year of playing Live 2006. I'm excited to play again and i'm looking forward to share my pictureless dynasty =).

You gave me the default starting line up. I tried that lineup and it sucks, or i sucked. So i changed it so i can have my best players starting the game.

I'm looking to play another team but i haven't decided if i should go for the Lakers, or the Rockets. Hmmm....
I played the whole Live 2005 with only 1 team so i guess it would be good to have some variations this time.

I was surprised to see that a team actually wanted S.Anderson when i was looking at trade options. He is like one of the players i hate and i don't know why. I was actually looking to trade SA for Skita but i found Warrick to be a better trade. =)

U should do the Rockets, it would be kinda cool

I'm actually leaning more on playing the Lakers since the Zen master is back. I want to help him break the record of Red the Great for the most championships won by a coach. I'll see if Kobe can carry the team to a championship. Can't wait to go home and start that Dynasty.

After losing their first 3 games of the season, the Heat is finally playing good basketball and has won 3 in a row. Shaq played great against the Bobcats getting 39pts, 12rebs, and 4blks. Wade is also playing well along with Mourning who has had stellar performances for the Heat. Wade was injured but will still be able to play and Mourning was also injured but was able to get back to the game and get 11pts, 6rebs, and 1blk. Wade ended with 18pts, 6asts, and 3stls. The bench helped a lot with scoring as 3 players scored more than 8 pts. Led by steve smith with 11, Podkolzin with 8, and Warrick with 8.
The game against the Pacers saw Wade leading the Heat with a 32pt, 8asts, and 3 stls performance. Mourning had 24pts and 12rebs, while Shaq had 22pts, 9rebs, and 4blks. Walker and Payton has been steady complimentary players and I think that has been the key to the winning streak.

Thanks. Unfortunately i don't have any recaps for the Heat, but i have one for my Lakers dynasty.

glad to see you on a winning streak, keep it up

The Heat's winning streak was cut short by the Bobcats the other night as Okafor became possesed by Barkley and just out hustled Shaq and Mourning. Okafor had 22pts, 12rebs, and 4blks and more than held his own against Shaq and Mourning, who between both of them average 8blks a game. Stoudamire and Rush took care of the outside scoring, making 3 3pointers each. I took the lead a couple of times but the Bobcats were just executing very well. Shaq only had 19 pts, 7rebs, and 5blks, while Mourning had 20pts, 8rebs, and 4blks. Wade who was still playing injured had 22pts, 6asts, and 3stls.
The Heat played the Hornets next and came out with a win. Chris Paul was scoring like crazy but the Heat had all their first 5 players score in double figures thus the Heat win. Shaq seems to be in a scoring slump getiing only 18pts but had 13rebs and 6blks. Mourning, who continues to play well had 22pts, 14rebs, and 5blks. Wade ended with the player of the game honors having scored 22pts with 9asts, 4rebs, and 7stls. Walker and Payton scored 14pts each.
Wade will be 100% for the next game and this is good news for the Heat.

A lot of you guys here say that it's very easy to score inside using a power player but i'm not seeing that. Playing with Shaq doesn't give me an advantage at all, that's because i don't go to him exclusively every time i run down the floor. And this has resulted to a 5-5 start for the Heat. Maybe i should go to O'neal more, in the last 2 games that I played, it was Wade who was top scoring for the Heat. Wade scored 35 against the 76ers (8-1) for a win and I thought this would be another win streak but I lost the next game against Raptors (3-6). Skip to my Lou played like he was on the play ground and dropped 30 and 8 on me. Rose also played great and Bosh held his own against Shaq and Mourning.
The Raptors has a bunch of good rookies who played a pivotal role in their win, they have Granger, Graham? Sow, and a rookie pg. This team has a bright future in front of them if this rookies become better players.
Shaq has been averaging 5.4blks and Mourning is averaging 3.2. Wade is leading the league in steals at 3.7 a game and Payton is averaging 2.4. So the Heat is a great defensive team, what they are is inconsistent, or maybe i'm playing the game too fast. With 4 old players playing along side Wade, maybe i should slow the game down and make use of my inside force.

It's a sad week for the Heat as the lost 2 key players due to injury. Wade is going to be out for 5 weeks due to a torn achilles tendon and Warrick is going to be out 11 weeks because of born spurs in his knee. The Heat has won their last 2 games and is only a game above .500. Shaq will have to play more aggressive as to keep the Heat above water during the absence of Wade. Shaq finished the last game against the hawks with 23pts, 16rebs, 6blks, and 3stls. Mourning was the top scorer with 26pts, and 12rebs.
I released Steve Smith to keep things relaistic, but not really coz i signed Chris Taft for the mininum =). I need another guard to cover Payton and Jwill but there's no player available for the minimum salary. I end up putting Walker on SG and Taft as SF even though he's a PF. So my team is kinda messed up right now, Wade has been averaging 24pts, 4stls, and 5asts and that is going to hurt the Heat while he's gone.

The Heat had a 4 game winning streak when tragedy struck. They are already without Wade and Warrick and now, Shaq is out for 11 days because of..... a SORE THUMB!!! Who misses games with a sore thumb? I can play with a sore thumb, i would have a hard time if it was a sore toe. But that being said, the Heat is officially cursed, and i can't find no takers for Walker who is officially worthless! I'm trying to get Josh Smith but Atlanta simply won't take Walker no matter what the player combination is. I even included JWill and Posey but they won't buy it. I have a pending trade transaction for Bogut and Walker, I hope they take it hehe.
So with Shaq out i had to sign another player and I got Chris Jeffries. Another Chris to go with Chris Taft who played 2 superb games while starting for the Heat. He scored 12 and 19pts on conscutive games to help the Heat get that winning streak going. Jeffries had a good game off the bench against the Spurs as he scored 6pts and had 3rebs in 4 minutes of play. The Spurs was just too much for a team without it's 2 star players but i only lost by 5 because of Haslem who has been an animal on the court. He has averaged 12pts and 7rebs during the absence of Warrick and Shaq. He had 22pts and 8rebs against the Spurs.
Lebron James is the player of month for the East and Baron Davis got it for the West. Andrew Bogut is the Rookie of the Month along with Deron Williams. Shaq is on the MVP candidates list.

The Heat gave up a good fight last night as they battled Denver for the 3rd time this season. The trade between Walker and Bogut didn't go thru so i'm stuck with Walker for now. Walker led the team in scoring with 22pts as i seem to find what his strenghts are and how i should use him. Denver was leading all the way until the last 2 minutes when they were up 91-83. Walker then went on fire and scored 8 straight points to tie up the game with 46 seconds left. Melo made a 3 with 25 seconds left and i thought that was it, but Haslem went inside and scored along with a foul from Martin. Haslem hit the free throw and i thought i still have a chance. Melo again scored a 3 point basket with 1.2 seconds left and that did it for me. Payton's 3pt attempt went off the rim and thus the Heat loss. Payton had 20pts and 8asts. while Taft had 14pts and Mourning had 16. Carmelo ended the game with 27pts and Martin had 24. It was a good game knowing that Walker still has his ability to score inside and outside and I may have found a way to properly use him.

After playing a subpar game against the Nuggets in their previous game, Mourning exploded for 37pts, 25rebs, 4blks, and 2stls against the Wizards last night for an OT win. He had 6 critical rebounds in OT to keep the Wizards at bay. The Heat had a chance to win it in regulation with the game tied with 8 seconds left when Payton passed the ball to Arenas! Good thing Arenas 3-pt heave didn't go in. Haslem also had a monster game getting 11rebs in the 1st half and ended with 28pts and 16rebs. Walker had another good game as he scored 8pts in OT to help the Heat win their 12th game this season. Walker finished with 22pts, 8rebs, and 3asts. Posey also had a good game off the bench with 9pts.

The Heat have on 3 straight games and is now 14-9. It's funny how the injuries of team actually became a blessing to the team because Walker has finally awaken from his slumber and is leading the team in scoring for the last 3 games. Walker scored 33 against the Bulls and 28 against the Bucks last night, including the winning basket with 3 seconds left. Walker scored 8 straight points for the Heat during the last 2 minutes which saw both teams trade leads 5 times. Redd scored 38pts for the Bucks with Ford adding 20 and 11asts. Mourning had another superb game with 24pts, 14rebs, and 7blks. Payton had 20pts and 8asts while Haslen had 16pts and 11rebs. Wang Zhizhi came off the bench and scored 8pts.
The game against the Bulls was a good win for the team because the Heat usually lost to a team with good centers, with Curry and Chandler manning the paint for the Bulls, it took Walkers timely outside jumpshots to open up the floor for the Heat. Mourning had 18pts and 11rebs while Haslem had 22pts and 14rebs. The Bulls was led by Gordon who had 33pts and Duhon who had 24pts. Jeffries, Williams, and Zhizhi scored 6pts each off the bench.
Shaq has recovered from his injury and will be available for the Heat's next game.

Thanks! I see that you're a 76ers fan, I guess i have to say sorry coz the Heat beat Phili last night, 104-87. =) Shaq played his first game after his sore thumb injury and the 76ers played without Dalembert. Shaq had 18pts, 9rebs, and 4blks. Mourning was the player of the game with 30pts, 14rebs and a block. Walker and Payton scored 11pts each while Taft had one of his better game scoring 16pts. The 76ers was led by Iverson with 26pts and Iguadala who had 18pts. Nothing much happened during the game, it was an easy week for the Heat and they find themselves right up there in the standings. They started the Power Rankings at number 12 and i'm sure they'll be in the top 10 come the next ranking.

The Heat sucumb to the Piston's defense as their 4 game winning streak was halted. Aside from having the Wallaces block my shots in the paint, they also have Prince who blocked like 3 of my fastbreak attempts. I kept the game close in the 4th but the Pistons was just too strong defensively. Wade came back from injury and scored 10pts along with 5asts and 4stls. Shaq led the way for the Heat with 24pts, 13rebs, and 4blks. Zo had a subpar game with only 9pts and 8rebs. Billups and Hamilton provide the scoring punch for the Pistons with 28 and 22pts respectively.
I think Prince is starting to show Pippen like skills and has become a very valuable part of the Pistons team combining both offensive and defensive skills. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the All-Defensive team in the future.
