I never traded Bosh. I did trade Araujo, Peterson, Eric Williams, Aaron Williams, and a whole bunch of others, but I would never trade Bosh....

nbalive744 - i try and fix up the next one i do. thx for the comment

Thierry Henry - thx..glad u lked it

Devin112 - thx..but ur photoshop skills r just off the hook in ur dynasty. thx for the templates again

Its_adsf - my bad  thx for correcting me..looking forward to ur 06 dyansty.

Just wanted to get an opinion from everyone: should i change Joey Graham to highflyer before i enter my dynasty or develop him in the player evolution? its pretty tempting to turn him into a highflyer because he does have a 37 inch vertical, but hez still a youngster. What do you guys think?

Mon Sep 26, 2005 12:38 am

What's his dunking rating? If you feel the rating is unrealistic then by all means change it. If it's something decent and he'll still dunk from time to time I'd rather develop him through the player evolution.

Just my 2 cents.

Mon Sep 26, 2005 12:40 am

um..i dunno..i dunt have the game yet..it comes out on the 28th right for ppl in lk the states nd canada??I'll ask fitzy or zmac to get me the rating or sumthing..

nice article but yeah the graphics could use some work. keep working on it. Take a look at some of the real magazines out there likes sports illustrated ,hoops or slam and check out what makes a good magazine cover and layout. like the colors and the placement of the pictures and the text (Y)

Mon Sep 26, 2005 2:33 am

First time I check out this one. Or in fact any 06 dynasty here, didn't realize there was already a new place for them....

As for those suggestions, I have a smaller screen (17' ?) and I can't see the writing on that magazine. Well, almost, but if you want you can make that bigger, just a couple centimetres will be enough.

actually you have to click the image. your monitor doesn't have anything to do with it. i think the forums automatically adjusts big images

Player Predictions

With Chris Bosh stating that he is optimistic about the Raptors making the playoffs, lets now have an in depth look at the 05-06 Raptors and what to expect of them in the upcoming season.

Charlie Villanueva - The 7th overall pick of the 2005 Draft, Charlie V. pocesses versatile scoring ability. He can score inside or outside. He is also very athletic and adds much needed athleticism to the Raptors lineup. Critisized for getting picked in the top ten, he is looking to prove everyone wrong and help the Raptors make their fourth playoff appearance in franchaise history.

Chris Bosh - The 3rd year star is looking to put up monster stats and would delight all Raptor fans if he made the All-Star team. He is easily one of the top ten power forwards in the league, averaging 16.8 pts and 8.9 rebounds. He has definitely worked out in the offseason and gained much needed bulk to his body. With the departure of Vince Carter, it is certain that Bosh is the leader of this Raptors franchaise. Expect him to put the Raptors on his back and lead them to the playoffs.

Jalen Rose - A versatile swingman, Jalen Rose is one of the veterans on this team. His ability to play both backcourt positions and the 3 makes him valuable to the Raptors. He lead the Raptors in scoring last season with 18.5 ppg. His veteran status and experience will definitely help the Raptors and he will be able to take the youngsters on this team, namely Joey Graham. There is a possibility that Jalen will move to the bench this year and let Joey Graham gain some valuable experience on the court.

Morris Peterson - A solid 2 or 3 baller, Mo Peterson has reached his prime. He is entering his fifth season in the NBA and has been in the zone in the last few games of the season, averaging 18ppg, 9rpg and 4 apg. Expect him to shoot the ball from beyond the arc well while incorporating a pullup jumpshot and driving hard to the rim. Last season, he recorded career highs in points (37), 3 pointers made (7), free throws (9) and steals (5). The best of Mo will probably be in the coming two seasons.

Rafer Alston - A bench player throughout his career before rejoining Toronto last season, Skip has put up career highs of 14.2 ppg, 6.4 apg and 1.48 spg. Solid numbers for a point guard in this league. He pocess incredible handles, as he was with the And 1 mixtape tour, but has had some attitude problems. Last season, he got suspended for 2 games because he had walked out of practice. He has had issues with Jalen Rose. In the offseason, however, he was optimistic about where the team was headed and the direction the club was going in. A trouble free season for Alston is critical for the Raptors.

Joey Graham - The 16th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Joey Graham was projected to be the most athletic player in the draft. He adds much needed athleticism and the ability to hit the mid range jumpshot. His most valuable skill is his defense. The Raptors were not a very good defensive team. At times they showed excellent defense, but was inconsistent. Joey Graham gives the Raptors a defensive presence and along with Mo Pete, they could really lock down their wing opponents. He also pocesses a 37 inch vertical, which was the height that Vince Carter had jumped when he won the dunk contest way back in 2000. He is going to be very exciting to watch.

Rafael Araujo - The Brazilian Center has been critized alot in his rookie campaign. The 8th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Hoffa has been considered a big bust in pretty much everyone's eyes. He has certainly worked on his body in the offseason and hopefully has shown improvement. It does take longer for big men to develop in the league, but Hoffa has got to show improvement this year.

Matt Bonner - The fan favourite in Toronto, Matt Bonner gives you effort and hustle everynight. It doesn't matter if he has to guard the 3, 4 or even 5 spot. He gives you effort and hustle everynight. He has got a very good shooting touch and near the end of the season, he started to make moves to the basket because most teams know that he can shoot the ball. He is going to be a major contributer off the bench this season.

Jose Calderon - The signing of Jose Calderon was the result of Roko Ukic deciding to sign with a Euro team. Not much is known about his playing style, but through the scouting reports from my scouts in the Eurobasket 2005 (qualifiers for the World Championships in 2006), he is a major impact player and starting point guard for Spain. In the championships, he is averaging 14ppg and 2apg. He will serve as back up point guard in the Raptors rotation.

Pape Sow - A raw young talent, Pape Sow is a very physical defender and can affect the game in many ways. He has amazing work ethic and has made the most of his limited playing time late in the season. Refered to a young Ben Wallace, he is also quite athletic, with the ability to hang in the air and go up strong. He has excellent potential to develop into a Power and Inside Stopper type of player.

Eric Williams - Acquired last year as part of the Vince Carter trade, Eric Williams gives a defensive presence and has the ability to drive to the rim, but last season, he averaged career lows in a Toronto uniform. He was sour last year and didn't want to leave his home town (New Jersey). This offseason however, in an article with the Toronto Sun, he said he's positive with the direction the club is heading and is willing to play with his heart again. That is defintely a plus for the Raptors. He, along with Jalen Rose, can mentor the younger players. Williams was the acknowledged mentor of LeBron James when he had played for Cleveland.

Loren Woods - The starting center of the Toronto Raptors on opening day last year, he was quite effective at what he did. Only in the third game of last season, he put up career highs of 17 points and 14 rebounds. But since December, after the Vince trade, Coach Sam Mitchell had placed him on the bench, starting Hoffa. He was a "bench warmer" after that. With the addition of Charlie V, and Pape Sow on the active roster, it is not sure how he will be able to fit in the rotation with Pape and possibly Hoffa.

Alvin Williams - The status of Alvin Williams is still uncertain. Williams had microscopic surgery last season and would not likely return to the Raptors on opening day. He may return in the middle or in the later half of the season. Alvin Williams is a combo guard, so he is able to take the role of shooting guard or point guard.

Aaron Williams - Acquired also in the Vince Carter trade along with Eric Williams, Aaron Williams was pretty much stayed on the bench, as he probably did with New Jersey. He did start a game in the later portion of the season and put up 9 pts. However, with the development of Hoffa and Pape, it is uncertain where he will fit in the rotation.

just a quick question about this dynasty and towards people that play as the raptors in general: How come you guys dont put mo pete on the bench as a 6th and 7th man, put jalen rose at sg (he can backdown weaker and smaller sg) and start joey graham?

I don't know about other Raptor dynasty people, but i personally like Mo Pete starting because he gives you three point shooting. I'm a perimeter type of player in NBA Live so i think mo pete gives me more of a three point threat. As for starting Joey Graham, i might start him in the middle of the season and put rose on the bench. Rose of the bench last season was excellent so i might try that. Thatz just my opinion.

Good read, very thoughful and we put. I like Joey Graham but I'd start Mo Pete too. Put the best players out there according to your playing style, that's what I say. Good luck man, the day is coming!

Thx Devin112..the day is coming for u too. Thank God that you decided to keep Cassell and not get Joey in your dynasty. The Golden Graham's my boy

lol, I tried man but the realism nazi's pressured me! naw just kidding, I appreciate their view points and in the end I kinda wanted to make the team I play in LIVE to be similar to the team I cheer for in real life.

Good luck, hopefully we'll get the game tomorrow or the next day.

Good point, i see the reasoning behind your decision. And jalen off the bench is as you said a good choice later in the season, he can do well against the 2nd units of the opposing team. By the way, are you planning to keep jalen for more than a season or trading him after this one?

I'm definitely keeping Jalen this season...but next season...i'll see how it goes..if i can free up cap space and get effective players..then i'll probably trade him. I'll see how effective he is. Now with Player evolution, he'll definitely wear down because of his age and maybe force me to put him on the bench. He might turn into a Lamond Murray or an overpaid bench warmer..so i'll have to see how it goes.

For this dynasty..i think i will put a magazine up called Raptor Monthly. As the name says, i will be updating this magazine every month of the dynasty and put you guys up to date with all my dynasty news. Here's a beta version of my magazine cover. I'm not really too happy on the results (as i said in my first post, i'm not the best photoshop person, i'm still exploring it). The cover will probably change, but i just wanted to see what you guys think about it. All comments are appreciated.

As for games itself, I'm probably getting it on the weekend. I'll play preseason games in exhibition mode just to get a feel for the game before i actually start training camp and enter the dynasty.

looks awesome for me...... nice idea on the monthly mag...... goodluck on this dynasty....

Nice cover, very festive and exciting!

Fri Sep 30, 2005 7:55 am

It's an ok cover, but I think there is a little too much going on in the background and there should be only a few main things in a magazine that should really catch your eye. Good effort though, like I said before, I'm not the one to judge since I'm probably worse than you in the graphics department.

I like the magazine cover (Y)
I believe this is the first time checking this dynasty out... Good luck :P

I sorta had the same thought..a bit too much goin on. I'll try and fix it up and make it look a bit more cleaner. I gotta suggestion for ur dynasty when you start yours. You should try and play around with photoshop too. Make it more visually appealing. It would make your dynasty better than your 05 one. Just a suggestion (Y)
